We were so excited to be able to review the SimAnimals Africa game on Nintendo DS! In this game you have to take care of the exotic animals in the Savannah’s and Jungles of Africa. Make sure all the animals have enough to eat and drink, and keep all the animals happy and nature thriving. Also while you play you can earn badges which makes it even more fun. Our 10 year old nephew loves playing this game and taking care of his Kingdom, it has provided hours of fun for him. While the game is geared more towards kids ages 8-14, it can be enjoyed by all ages as well. I give SimAnimals Africa an A+!

Stay With Me Socks Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

When I first brought my oldest Harrison home from the hospital I kept him in sleepers. Even his tiniest baby socks fell off his little feet, meaning any outfit without feet attached were unusable. They honestly fit from the day we brought him home, and he was 6 pounds 10 oz so he wasn’t a big baby. The velcro allows you to tighten the socks around his ankle so baby_and_socks_on_shelf_green_bg_copy_ksje that they are still comfortable and won’t fall off. Sometimes when you get socks that “fit” and won’t fall off of baby’s foot, they are so tight you leave marks on their little ankles. Not good. But the other option is no better- you’re constantly putting baby’s socks back on, sometimes forcing you to re-trace your steps to even find them. Plus when you’re not using them, you can velcro them together to keep from losing one. Often when you make the choice to use the most practical baby stuff, you sacrifice cuteness. Micralite Toro Stroller with Rider Attachment Review

rider Thanks to Scandinavian Child, I was sent the Micralite Toro Stroller in orange with the Rider attachment to review. I really like the look of this stroller. It has such a modern and fun look to it, and it doesn’t look like all the other generic strollers out there. It was really easy to put together, it only took me a few minutes. It folds fast and easy and stands (very sturdy) all on it’s own when folded. I love that, I get sick of the strollers that tip over at the slightest touch or just don’t stand upright when folded. It is really nice for storage. It fully reclines so your child can lay flat or sit completely upright. It has a nice sized basket underneath that easily holds my diaper bag. And best of all you can keep this stroller the way it is or adapt it to fit your families needs with all the fabulous accessories available. Now about the Rider attachment. I can’t get enough of this. You simply connect it to the back of the stroller and viola! Your older child can stand behind (just in front of you while you are pushing). This is perfect for your child that is “a big kid” and doesn’t want to ride in the stroller, but still whines “I’m tired” when they are sick of walking. My nephew loves it, and I it is a relief to be able to have the whining stop! The Rider folds up and out of the way when not in use. This is nice because then you don’t have to take it off when your not using it and reattach it when you want to use it. It is always there and ready to go. And the Rider they sent me also came with Multi Position Handle Bars, they make the handles longer so that makes it more comfortable for the person pushing it while the child is standing on the back. Creating a Visually Appealing Blog

Hi everyone! I’m Megan from wildflowers and sweet tea. Thanks for letting me stop by and chat with you guys today! I hope you find these tips helpful.

Do you feel like you’re blog is awesome but that no one knows it because they aren’t sticking around long enough to find out. Your blog isn’t making a good first impression.

With blogs, the visual first impression counts. It lets visitors know if they want to stay. Your blog should be a true expression of who you are and yet still be appealing to the audience that it’s intended for. You don’t have to be an amazing graphic designer to have an outstanding blog. Just start by grooming these three areas:

The Header

Most bloggers don’t put enough thought into the header. The header sits in the most prominent position on your blog. It’s the top section that houses your title. Your header is the first thing visitors will see. It brands you. Yet so many bloggers just run with the default header given to them. It doesn’t say much more than your blogs name. It really doesn’t tell your readers what you’re about. Pick an image that you love and that fits the message that your blog is trying to send. There are several sites out there to help you personalize your header. Here are my two favorites:

Layouts and Backgrounds

Your layout should follow the basics of good housekeeping. Keep it clean and uncluttered. Your readers don’t need to know everything you love and stand for. They just need to know the most important things. Add a list of books that you love, but don’t add every book you’ve ever read. Keep your lists and your columns clean and to a minimum. You don’t want your writing and your images to get lost in a haze. Your writing and images are the parts of your blog that need to shine.

Your background should reflect your style. Choose colors that you love. If you prefer a more modern style then keep your background and layout clean and simple. If you prefer things a bit more vintage then choose one of the great shabby chic backgrounds out there.

Btemplates has awesome layouts that are made specifically for blogger and include great headers

Images

Images are the key to a visually pleasing blog. An image helps to set the tone for your post and gives it focus. An image gives your readers something unique to see. An image captures the reader’s attention and makes them want to read the story behind it. Try experimenting with your camera to create interesting visuals to go with your story. Like a child’s toes in the sand to go with a story about a beach trip. Breaking away from portrait only pictures will help you stand out. (Please keep in mind that if you want to borrow an image from another website it is always best to ask for permission.)

Feelgoodz Flip Flops Review

Feelgoodz sent me some of their awesome Flip Flops in the color Clay, which I love! I tried my flip flops on right away and thought, wow these are not only comfortable and sturdy but cute too! I really like how durable they feel and that I know they won’t break. I have bought flip flops before and I always bought the really cheap ones, and then months later I was having to replace them. After several different jobs he decided to pack up and move to Thailand to experience the life and culture, after teaching English for a couple of years there, he wanted to give back to the country that had given him so much.

So great for busy moms who might otherwise not record these important events! I know Ruben will love to look through it someday, and I can’t wait! Maryanne was so great to work with- she was accommodating and really wanted to make sure I got just what I wanted. She also has so many other great creative items, you definitely need to check her site out. I wish so badly I had the time (and talent) to scrapbook for my kids- my huge box of very expensive scrapbooking supplies are getting rather dusty in the garage. However, Scrappy Gifts is a fabulous (and simple) alternative!

My son is just learning to walk so the shoes he wears are very important. I need him to have a sturdy, quality pair of shoes. I was very excited to review the Crawford Brown Baby Shoe. WeeSqueak is known for it’s squeaky shoes (See Heidi’s review on their squeakers!) but I was able to review from their Beibi Line, that don’t have the squeakers. These are really great shoes! I love that they have the tie sneaker look, but use velcro for ease. (Great for when you’re in a hurry to leave the house!) They are adorable, as you can see. They match almost anything Harrison wears! The soles are very sturdy and they are great walking shoes. The best part is they look and feel sturdy enough to last until my youngest son needs them!

Pipila Pacifier Sterilizer Review

I received the Pipila Pacifier Sterilizer in red to review and I love it! My little one is actually not on the pacifier anymore BUT this is a great way to sterilize and then to store them! I also can’t wait to use this when we have another baby. I love that the sterilizer is not only portable but it’s small enough to keep in your diaper bag.

I never realized how many germs were on a pacifier until I read on Pipila’s website “The number of bacteria on dirty bottle nipples and pacifiers is far greater than on toys and general household goods.” How gross is that! But it’s completely true, I noticed babies and toddlers not only share their binky’s BUT they drop them on the ground, in the dirt and who knows where else then it goes right back into their mouth. This pacifier sterilizer is a great way to prevent germs right on the spot!

All you do is take the pacifier and but the nipple part down into the sterilizer, push the button and in 6 minutes it’s clean and ready to go!

Marshmallow Shooter Review

I was sent the Camo Marshmallow Shooter from Marshmallow Fun Company to review. My nephews (ages 8 and 10) have had so much fun shooting it! It is very well designed, it is easy to load the mini marshmallows in it. You just take the tube out load them in and place the tube back on. It is also very easy to shoot, you just pump the handle back and forth and it shoots the marshmallows out. They loved it so much there mom is going to buy another one so they will each have one. This is a really fun toy for kids of all ages (yes that includes me, I enjoyed shooting it just as much as they did!). Imagine having these for everyone at an outdoor family reunion or work party. Talk about fun!
