I was so excited when Smart Trike agreed to send us all their Smart Trike Plus model. I have been wanting a pushable trike for bug for a little while now so I could hardly wait for it to arrive. I have to tell you when I opened the door and bug saw the box, Smart Trike Plus in Blue on the porch his eyes lit up and he said “Whoa!”. So I said, “That is a new bike for you”. And he just stood there staring at it for a few seconds and then said, “for me?”. I said, “Yes!”. Then he gave me that huge grin I just can’t get enough of. Due to past experiences that have taught me well, I waited until bug was taking his afternoon nap to put it together. (otherwise you have to try to put it together and deal with a restless toddler at the same time, I recommend waiting, but it is up to you). I was glad I waited because it took me about 45 minutes to put it together. But it seemed really easy to assemble so please keep in mind that I was watching my DVR’ed episode of The Bachelor so it probably wouldn’t have taken me so long if I hadn’t been so distracted by Jake, LOL! Blush…Anyway, once bug woke up from his nap we decided to walk to C’s school to pick him up. Since bug is 2 years old I assembled the trike with the push-bar, he isn’t ready to be completely independent yet. I like having control, since the bar I hold onto steers. It was a little difficult at times since he can also steer so we sometimes fought for steering control. But he had so much fun riding his new tricycle instead of being in a stroller for a change. I think it makes him feel like he is a big boy now. I love that this tricycle can start with a seat belt and all the safety features for a baby and then give him a little more freedom to get on and off while mom still has control, and finally end up being a solo trike for little Mr. Independent. You definitely get your money’s worth with this smart trike!
I received the coolest little trike to review! I couldn’t wait to receive it and have Leah try it out. Before this we had a little makeshift car, that we tied a string to and would pull Leah around. Um can you say sad! The Smart Trike we received was perfect for our little girl, it was lavender and fit her just right! So once we put the trike together-which was very easy, We put Leah on it and off she went! I really like that this is a trike that grows with her. You can start it at 10 months old and she can ride this one up until she is 3 years old! It starts out having lots of support then you can take the back off and it’s an independant trike! Your little one will love this just like mine did!
Harrison is the proud, happy new owner of the Smart Trike Plus, and he loves it! And I love that it’s a safe, fun way for him to ride around. He’s only 14 months, and really doesn’t grasp the “hang on tight” concept, so I LOVE the safety belts to keep him strapped in. I also love that it’s easily adjustable, so even next summer both boys can get some use out of it. It has a cute little basket in the back, which of course he loved to take things in and out of. And when he gets older I’m sure he’ll be riding around with all his little boy treasures. The Smart Trike was very easy to put together, I had no trouble on my own. I love that the pushbar tricycle comes in so many colors- ours is blue & grey and so adorable! The Smart Trike is such a great money saver, because you can use it for multiple years. Any baby or toddler would be lucky to own their very own Smart Trike! ![]()
