{Brag Worthy Summer!} Gather and Grille Playhouse Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

For a sizzlin’ good time, gather in this playhouse with an extended area for grilling & hanging out with friends!

I cannot even begin to tell you how excited my 2 year old bug got when I told him that this Step 2 Gather and Grille Playhouse was coming for us to review! What a perfect addition to summer playtime!

When it arrived we couldn’t believe how big the box was. (But what did I expect for a playhouse, LOL!) It was really nice because while me and my sister were putting the playhouse together bug had a blast playing in the huge box. Isn’t it funny how much kids love boxes?!

It didn’t take very long for me and my sister to put the outdoor playhouse together, I didn’t officially time it but I would guess it took around an hour. It is much easier if you have a drill (and is actually recommended) since you have to make the holes for the screws in the plastic yourself. But it doesn’t require a drill, I was able to use a Phillips head screw driver on one of the holes but it took me a lot longer on that one. It’s just faster with the drill. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to assemble, and the instructions have step by step pictures (which helps me a lot as I am a very visual person) making it really easy to know what to do next.

Once it was assembled I put the sticker decals on to complete the house. They are great stickers, even when I messed up putting it on and it got a wrinkle I was able to press it out. It is so stinkin’ cute! It even has a little decal fireplace and a clock above the mantel. There is a kitchen sink inside the house so kids can “prepare” food inside as well as grill on the barbeque outside. The doorbell actually rings (make sure you have 2 AAA batteries on hand since they aren’t included). Bug loves the doorbell, I knew he would since he is obsessed with ringing our doorbell. It is really cute having a “ding dong” door bell by the front door

This playhouse is a really good size for multiple children playing. It has a front door and a patio entrance so that eases the congestion. Kids can go in and out easily without getting in each other’s way. And since there is a patio with a bench seat and a grill the kids can play out there as well. It is perfect for family gatherings and play dates when a lot of kids play together, as well as for one child playing by himself like bug.

It comes with 5 additional accessories: a Spatula, Tongs, a Fork, & Ketchup and Mustard Bottles. I think it should have come with a couple food pieces as well but no problem for us since we have the Step 2 Fresh Market Kitchen (which we love as well). So we just brought out some hamburgers and hot dogs from bug’s play food stash and he was ready to get grilling. It is very fun how the grill opens and closes as well as has knobs to turn. The cutest thing was when daddy started grilling up some hamburgers for dinner bug ran over to his playhouse and started grilling as well.

Of all the great features of this playhouse the one I love the most is that it is made of a heavy duty plastic and I know it will last through all of my kids playing in it. And once they are grown it will be passed down to other kids. This one is made to last the test of time!

Now that he has his “big boy chair” as he calls it, he can sit comfortably at the table like the rest of us. This booster is very safe since it has a 5 point harness seat belt so even very small children can be buckled in safely. It secures very well to our kitchen chairs. It has a strap that goes around the back of the chair, as well as under the chair. Making it stay securly in place. I love the look of this booster, it is so much better looking than the other booster seats I have seen lately (as I’ve been looking for one). It has a more sophisticated look. The colors are so bright and fun and with so many to choose from you can find the one that it perfect for your child and home. The seat is soft and cushioned as opposed to the other hard plastic booster seats. It is super easy to clean this booster, you just wipe it clean since their is no fabric to hassel with. Bug loves his new booster seat, it is the perfect way to transition from high chair to table. And it can fit up to a 4 year old. It is also perfect for taking on trips when you won’t have a highchair. And you can even take it with you when you go out to eat, but just to warn you, everyone is going to be asking you about your awesome booster seat! The Mutsy Grow-Up Flexible Seat Reducer is a must have!

I was so thrilled when Hayneedle wanted me to do a review and giveaway with them. They have over 200 specialty stores for home work and play. I have to admit I was mostly interested in the play part. Especially since it’s summer! Isn’t that what summer is about playing in the sun? So they said I could choose an item to review, and I had so much fun searching through their sites. They have so much to choose from, I have my eye on some of their patio furniture, and home decor items! Ultimately I chose the Char-Griller Grillin’ Pro 4000 Gas Grill from GrillsDirect.com because what is better than a BBQ to get friends and family together for summer fun?! Our old BBQ was 6 years old and barely standing, poor thing. So my husband was ecstatic to find out this was on it’s way to our house. When it arrived he was like a kid on Christmas and couldn’t wait to get it assembled. It was time consuming to put together, it took him a little over 2 hours to complete. But this beauty was worth every second. It is very well made, and looks so great out on our back patio. I recommend buying the grill cover to go with it to keep it looking as good as it does now regardless of weather. The thing my husband loves the most is how large the cooking area is, we can fit about 20 hamburgers on it. It has 4 burners so you can grill for 2 or grill for 20, no problem. So great for parties! The porcelien cast iron grates leave really good looking grill marks on the meat. My hubby is so excited since we got it we have been grilling on it every night. This barbeque grill is perfect for Summer!

I was sent the Nerf Weather Blitz Flyer Disc to review. Bug and I have had a blast throwing this around our backyard. The weather resistance is great because bug tends to leave his toys outside and even though he does it still looks great. The grips also makes it so much easier to grip and throw far. It is a fun addition to a picnic, barbeque, or trip to the park this summer!

How cute is this chair? I love it! And Harrison loves it too- as soon as it came out of the box he was dragging it all over the house and sitting down in it. =) This is such a great thing to have- it’s a great kid’s camp chair, beach chair, or even for bringing to a BBQ. It folds up really flat so it’s easy to transport. The umbrella is the best part- it is attached to the chair, so no chance of losing it or leaving it behind. It velcros together like a normal umbrella, and it also velcros to the bottom of the chair so if you aren’t using it, it stays in place. Then just unvelcro, pop it up, squeeze the adjuster to the angle you want the umbrella at, pop it open, and voila! Some great shade for your little one. So that is really nice, my husband also likes being able to talk to bug as he is riding. The seat has a foam cover that helps absorb bumps and keeps bug comfortable. It also has a large foam covered dashboard for bug to have a place to hold onto, that way his hands stay off the handle bars and out of dad’s way. Bug has a blast riding bike with Daddy! This is the perfect way to ride with your child! A must have for bike riding this summer!

{Brag Worthy Summer!} CSN Stores Step 2 Naturally Playful Sand Table Review

Finally the summer is here! (at least where we live, we have been having some crazy weather). It is time to play outside!! Bug and I have been going stir crazy these last couple of months. We are so happy to be able to play out in our beautiful backyard. There is nothing better than toys to play with in the backyard, so when CSN Stores gave me an online gift code to pick out a review item, I knew they would have something fun for outdoor play. They have over 200 stores with so many fun items so choosing wasn’t easy. But I finally decided on the Step 2 Naturally Playful Sand Table! It was a perfect choice, bug is loving it! When it arrived we immediately put it together, and it only took a few minutes. I just had to push the legs on and presto we were ready to take it outside and fill it with sand (not included). I made sure I had a bag on hand for when this arrived It holds 40 lbs. of sand. Once we got it all filled bug played for about an hour, and then only stopped because I made him come in for dinner. Needless to say it is a huge hit. Bug loves playing with the 4 included toys: 2 rakes, 2 shovels, and a bucket. I love that it is a sand table instead of a sand box. This way when he is done playing, all I have to do is wash his hands rather than do a full body cleanup if he had been sitting in a sand box. Another really nice feature is the lid. It keeps the sand clean and dry regardless of the weather. It secures on with elastic straps and bug isn’t able to get it off by himself. That’s nice because I can decide when it’s time to play with sand rather than him getting into it all the time.

The Phd Pocket Disc is the coolest frisbee out there. Originally made by Savanna for a third grade round placemat project that turned into a flying sensation. This fun flying disc is something you will all want to have 6 of in your home!

♥ I was offered to review this item and was thrilled to accept. These fun flying discshave become a fast hit in my household. Not only with my kids, but me as well. The kids have used them as a frisbee, hat, placemat and even as a cool mouse pad for their trackman mouse. I used them for the kitchen too. They made great trivets and pot holders while cooking. I even used a couple at some of our last few baseball games to keep the kids busy as well as to sit on. Those bleacher ain’t too pretty sometimes. LOL All in all, the Phd Pocket Disc is not only a great toy for the kids, you can find numerous uses for them. What’s great is, the Phd Pocket Disc site and blog offer many suggestions for using this. Games being one of them. My kids loved trying out all the games they suggested. Their favorite was PHD Bowling. They love to bowl, so this was fun way that they can do it any day without having to pay for the shoes. LOL They also list a bunch of different uses. Some you wouldn’t even think of. WOW! Our family definitely recommends getting the Phd Pocket Disc for your home or as a gift for another family. You will love them! WE DO! ♥

I was sent the EasyWalker QTRO Stroller in silver to review. My favorite thing about this stroller is that it is made to accommodate birth to 4 years. So you definitely get your money’s worth out of it. Because it is made for up to 4 years I don’t have to worry about bug outgrowing it any time soon. He is a really tall 2 year old so I found that other strollers just won’t fit him (cause his head hits the sun canopy). He fits great in this stroller with plenty of room to spare. It reclines to 4 different positions (including fully horizontal) and has an adjustable footrest so your child can be completely comfortable while riding in it. The suspension is fabulous, it makes for a smooth ride on any surface. It folds really flat and locks so it is really easy to get in and out of my tall SUV. It also comes with a rain cover which is nice to have on hand when you are spending time outdoors in iffy weather.

Your kids will have fun reading these over and over and will be talking about them for days after. My daughter got the Daniel Boom bug too! LOL She was addicted to the books as well. It was great seeing the two of them talk about what happened in the book and replaying some of the things they read. It’s always nice when you can get your kids to play nicely together. We were very impressed with this series of books and can’t wait to get the next one. My son also received a back pack and water bottle with this review. Which he loves. Oh and I can’t forget the flashlight and some funky nose coat for under the covers reading. Funny! We definitely recommend you get these children’s books for your kids. They would make a great gift too! ♥

It’s easy to forget how important it is to protect your child’s eyes from the sun. You’d never send your child out in the pool all day without sunscreen, would you? But did you know it’s just as important to protect your child’s eyes? Here is what Baby BanZ has to say:

Why Wear Sunglasses?

Sunglasses are important for a variety of reasons. They are essential for preventing sun damage to your eyes while at the same time, improving your vision and visual comfort. They can also help you make a unique fashion statement.

Our eyes are affected by exposure to the rays of ultraviolet radiation. Overexposure to UV light contributes to the development of cataracts, retinal damage and other eye problems. Experts report that as much as 80% of UV damage to our eyes is done before the age of 18, making it even more important all of us to start protecting our eyes at an early age

Sunglasses also serve as a shield against the glaring light of the sun and providing you with better visual clarity. You can choose anything from a soft tint to a dark, polarized lens.

Baby BanZ are such an easy way to help protect your child’s eyes! I got children’s sunglasses for Harrison, and little baby sunglasses for Ruben, and they have come in handy in the hot Texas sun. The boys actually keep them on, which is the most important feature. They seem to be comfortable in them- the band is a stretchy, comfy material. They come in 2 different sizes, so each of my boys have a great fit. Not to mention how adorable they look in them. They have every color you could imagine, and even some prints. Here are some great tips from Baby BanZ to help get your child to wear their sunglasses:

Wearing Baby BanZ sunglasses, just like wearing sunscreen or fastening a seat belt, is a learned behavior. Kids learn fast, but if you don’t teach them to wear sunglasses as children, they may never learn. Here are some of our suggestions on how you can get your child to love wearing Baby BanZ sunglasses. We recommend starting your infant at 4-6 months of age so they are as used to wearing sunglasses as they are a hat, coat or socks!

1) When you first put Baby BanZ Shades on your child they should be in the sun – not indoors. Many parents try to “get the baby used to the sunglasses” inside, but due to the darkness of the lenses, this can be scary as the child’s world has just gone dim!

2) Make sure the polycarbonate lenses on the Baby BanZ sunglasses are clean. If not, clean them with a lens cleaner and soft cloth. If you don’t have lens cleaner, soap and water will do. Just don’t dry them with an abrasive paper towel.

3) Center the Baby BanZ sunglasses so the nosepiece rests on the tiny bridge of the nose and the straps are above the ears. Adjust the neoprene strap to be just tight enough so that they don’t slip down, but not tighter. If they are too snug will not want to wear them.

4) It is normal, especially for older infants, to try to pull the Baby BanZ sunglasses off at first. But the more you put them back on and encourage them to wear them, the easier it gets. Start your child as young as possible. Remember that wearing Baby BanZ sunglasses for 5 minutes the first time is wonderful. It’s a new experience so build the time up gradually.

5) Set a good example by wearing your sunglasses, too! When mom/dad put on their sunnies, it’s time for baby to do so as well! You can make a game out of this by playing peek-a-boo or Simon Says as well so that baby copies your actions.

{Brag Worthy Summer!} Little Tikes Spray and Rescue Fire Truck Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

I am always searching for great ride on toys for bug, as he loves them so much and they provide great entertainment for him. So when Little Tikes said they were sending me their New Spray and Rescue Fire Truck to review I couldn’t wait to see it in action. It arrived and was very simple to put together, it only took me about 20 minutes. I waited until bug was asleep so I wouldn’t have him get impatient waiting for me to put it together. When he woke up I said “I have a surprise for you outside”. He loves Surprises, he calls them “prizes”. His eyes lit up when he saw his new Fire Truck. He has had a blast playing with it ever since. He just can’t get enough of spraying the fire hose, it feels like I have filled the tank a million times. But at least it is very easy to fill as the tank is removable so I can walk it inside to the sink and fill it. And it is worth all the trips because it has kept bug entertained and having lots of fun for hours and hours. That is a big deal for an only child (like bug), sometimes he can get pretty bored and rely on mommy for all things

entertainment

I like having some help in that department. I like that it is made to be very durable, that is something Little Tikes is very good at. I love knowing it will still be around for all my kids to play with. This is a great toy, bug loves it and I think any kid would be on cloud nine to have one of their own!
