As you know by know I am a big fan of Fantasy Jewelry Box.  They have some really fabulous fashion costume jewelry.  I just love how much jewelry can spice up and outfit and make you look amazing.

 

Fantasy Jewelry Box has beautiful cz engagement rings.  I chose to review their Sterling Silver Classic CZ Solitaire Ring because it is so simple and elegant.  I love how pretty it is.  It has diamonds going all around the band and they are very sparkly! The diamond in the center is so big!  Wowza! I like to wear this ring on my right hand, but I also use it as a replacement for my wedding ring when I go places I don’t want to take my real ring.  Like swimming, traveling, to the gym, etc…

How to Lose Your Baby Weight

Most women would love to be able to get pregnant and have a baby without gaining a significant amount of weight, but it is just not possible. The American Pregnancy Association recommends a weight gain of 25 to 35 pounds for normal-sized women, 28 to 40 pounds for underweight women, and 15 to 25 pounds for overweight women. Deviating too much from these recommendations (in either direction) can lead to health problems for both mother and baby.

On average, new mothers post-birth tend to weigh about 15 to 25 pounds more than they did before becoming pregnant. Pregnancy does cause some changes in the body that can be difficult to reverse, so you may have to accept that you will never get your old figure back. However, accepting this, there is nothing wrong with trying to get back to your ideal weight.

It is not as difficult as you might assume. If you gained 30 pounds during your pregnancy, around 8 pounds of this will be from the baby herself, 1.5 pounds from the placenta, around 6 pounds from fluid volume and increased uterus weight, 4 pounds in increased blood volume, and 2 pounds in increased breast tissue. All in all, you will likely be left with under 10 pounds of stored fat to get rid of through diet and exercise. Of course, some women will have more or less, but this is the average.

The good news is that your extra post-pregnancy weight may not be all that much. The bad news is that this weight will not just disappear. You may have to work hard to get it off. Here are some things to keep in mind when losing your baby weight:

1. Take your time: Do not give in to the temptation to try to shed all your extra weight within a week or two after giving birth. Crash dieting is never healthy, and it is especially harmful when you have a new baby to care for. Remember, although you are not eating for two anymore, you do have to make sure that you get enough nutrition to pass on to your baby through breastfeeding. You did not gain your baby weight overnight, so do not expect to get rid of it immediately.

2. Continue to eat a little extra: Doctors recommend that mothers who feed their babies exclusively through breast milk should consume an extra 500 calories per day. As you phase out breastfeeding in the future, talk to your doctor about the best course of action for regulating your diet.

3. Get moving: Even as you continue to consume extra calories during the early months of your baby’s life, you can begin to shed those extra pounds through exercise. If you had a healthy pregnancy, it should not be difficult to get back into the swing of things. One of the best ways to get exercise is to walk daily, as you can bring your baby with you.

4. Have help: If you have a partner to share the burden with you, give each other time each day to exercise without having to worry about the baby’s needs. You can also get help from family or friends who are willing to take the baby off your hands for an hour or two a few times a week.

5. Resist temptation: During pregnancy, many mothers use their condition as an excuse to eat what they want when they want. It can be hard to get out of that pattern, but you are never going to get rid of that baby weight if you are unwilling to be a little hard on yourself. While you do need extra calories for nursing, try to avoid unhealthy snacks and desserts. Confine yourself to healthy, balanced meals.

Goat Milk Stuff let me choose 3 full-sized bars of natural soap. It was difficult to choose…there were a lot of scents that I wanted to try, but I narrowed it down and this is what they sent me:

How much can one say about soap?

Well I can say a lot about the Goat Milk Soap that showed up at my doorstep. First of all, I could smell it before I even opened the package. It was amazing. After I opened the package, I set the bars of soap on my dresser and left to do a few things. When I walked back into my bedroom, it was like I had put an air freshener in there. My room smelled wonderful and I was tempted to just let the soap sit and make my room smell delicious. But I couldn’t resist….plus I needed to review the soaps Winking smile.

Currently, I am using the Foot Scrubby and the Black Raspberry Bar. I hate what winter does to my skin. I usually feel itchy all the time even after I lather on the lotion. But the Black Raspberry bar has done wonders for me. I still use lotion, but I haven’t had one day of the itchiness that use to drive me CRAZY!

Now the Foot Scrubby is great. It is a loofah sponge filled with soap and I use it exactly how you would think….I scrub my feet with it. It’s a great way to exfoliate and keep my feet soft & smooth (I NEED this soap for the summer months!) They both lather really well too, which was pleasantly surprising. I am not a big fan of soap that doesn’t lather…..it makes me feel like it isn’t doing it’s job.

The bars I received were about 6 ounces. I started using the the Black Raspberry bar on November 20th, and I am almost about 3/4 of the way through it (and I use it everyday). So they last a good while. I store mine outside the shower so I can get as many uses as possible out of them!

Here is something else that is really great: Goat Milk Soap is made by a cute little family in Indiana just a few hours from where I live. Seriously, the kids milk the goats and everything. Isn’t that amazing! I want to take a little drive down to their farm just to see if it smells as wonderful as I think it would…..probably unlike any farm I’ve ever smelled before Winking smile.

We are big fans of Hasbro board games. So when we heard about Hasbro Family Game Night 3, we new we had to have it!  We got this game for our Xbox 360.  We all sat down as a family to play.  With so many fun games to play we easily played for hours!  We didn’t even realize it had been hours because we were having so much fun.  My favorite game is Clue.  It has a fun twist on the original game but keeps all the elements that are important the same, room, weapon, person, etc…My hubby’s favorite game is Life.  The kids love Mouse Trap and Twister.  To play twister you repeat the sequences to music.  Yahtzee Hands Down is a little harder to play for the kids we are still getting the hang of it.  You can choose to play the games in a remix version or original.  That adds more elements to each game and adds more ways to play.  You can have up to 4 players and even just one player as there is an option to play against the computer.  This is a very fun game the whole family can play!

I was really excited to be able to review some great products from mOmma. I really love the bright colors and easy to use handles on both the spoon and Rocking Cup with Straw.

00658_9_1 My daughter loves to use sippy cups with straws. She loves how they are just like Mommy and Daddy’s drinks. I love the easy to use mOmma rocking cup with straw. It’s really easy for Leah to twist the lid and the straw pops right out! I love that the straw is included in the cup instead of having to try and find the straw and loosing them all the time. Leah also loves to rock the cup back and forth which keeps her entertained while I finish my food or in the car.

sippy cups, fork and the bowl. These are brightly colored so baby will have fun eating and they are so functional and easy to use that baby will have a blast!

We haven’t ever played the MySims games until now, so we were excited when we got MySims SkyHeroes for Nintendo Wii.  Everyone in our family had fun playing this game.  It is a little to hard for Bug to play but he is able to play.  The controls are simple and you don’t die when you crash into things.  He does tend to get frustrated while playing.  I suggest this game for kids over 7.  Our 11 year old says “This game is awesome!”.  He has been playing it as much as we will let him since it arrived.  It is a one player game for the most part.  But there is an option for a split screen with 2 players. This is a fun game for your kids this Christmas, I recommend it!

My 7 month old came down with a little cold over Thanksgiving, so we pulled out the Vicks Starry Night Humidifier. It was very easy to set-up. All I pretty much had to do was soak the filter & then fill the tank with water. It has a high (maximum output) or low setting (night time sound sleep mode), and it is for medium-sized rooms so it’s perfect for most children’s bedrooms. The Starry Night projector is an added bonus to what the humidifier already offers. My kids just love it. You can even use it as a little night light without turning on the cool mist.  I am hoping that my kids don’t catch anything this winter, but if they do, I will be so glad to have this humidifier!

    I was excited to receive the Vicks Starry Night Cool Mist Humidifier.  I was in need of a Humidifier for Bugs room since I didn’t have one since our last one bit the dust.  First off, I love that it has an 18 hour run time so I know it will run all night for Bug. Other humidifiers I have used in the past will run out in the middle of the night and that is a big problem when you have a sick child. This is a great Humidifier and the Starry Night affect is so fun! Bug loves the starry lights the project off of it.  When I first ran it and shut off the lights Bug said “Wow! Mommy Stars!”  It is a great Humidifier for your kids.  Especially when they are sick these stars will give them something to smile about :)   Now to say I was in need of a good Ear Thermometer would be an understatement.  I haven’t ever had one that I really liked (or worked well).  That is until now.  The Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer is a heaven send to me.  It is so easy to use and it is accurate.  Other ear thermometers I have had are very unreliable and I am so happy to finally have one that I can count on.  When Bug is sick I need to have a thermometer I know will be telling me the correct temperature and this Braun Thermometer is it!  I feel much more prepared for the Cold and Flu season now that I have both of these items.  I recommend purchasing now rather than waiting for your child to get sick.  The last minute scramble will most likely pressure you into purchasing products that you may regret buying later.  Better to be prepared now!

    Education is so important, and it is never to early to start teaching your children.  I was so glad to be introduced to Carson-Dellosa Publishing.  They have so many Educational Resources and I am always on the lookout for products that can help me to teach Bug.  I now have the Train Kit (pictured left), it comes with a 4 piece train set and a book all about trains.  This is a really fun way for Bug to learn about trains.  Not only does pp1he see the trains in the book and learn all about them.  But he also has a train to play with.  This train even lights up and makes sounds.  It is a huge hit with Bug.  Hands on learning is a great approach and Carson Dellosa has some great kits like these.   I also have the learning flash cards.  I have been working with Bug on his shapes and colors and I am already seeing a huge improvement.  We pp2sit down and look at the flash cards.  Bug likes to hold them, as it makes him feel like he is in charge of the learning.  We usually spend about 10-15 min. learning with the flash cards (His 3 year old attention span only allows this).  But since getting the flash cards he has learned several new colors and is starting to remember his shapes.  I highly recommend Carson Dellosa for parent’s looking for Learning Resources.  Also, if your a teacher they have fabulous resources for teachers as well.

    Carino’s Italian Restaurant Healthy Kids Menu Review and $50 GC Giveaway [CLOSED]

    We have been going to Carino’s Italian to eat as a family for a while now.   I am a huge Italian food fan. The food is delicious and the service is great.  My hubby’s favorite menu item is the Carino’s Favorites combo.  It has Lasagna, chicken parmigiana and spaghetti with marinara.  My favorite menu item is the Classic Pizza Margherita.  But we have tried several other items on the menu as well and all were delicious.  Our favorite appetizers are the Hand Breaded Calamari and the Baked Stuffed Mushrooms.  Yummmm…all this talk about Carino’s makes me want to go eat there tonight :)  

    I was so excited to see that Carino’s has a new healthy kid’s menu for kids.  I am always trying to feed Bug only the best and healthiest of foods.  This is hard to do when eating out.  So Carino’s new healthy kids menu is a huge plus for us.  All the kid’s items are under 500 calories and created by the Executive Chef, Chris Peitersen.  Bug loves the Kid’s Cheese Tortellini & also the Kid’s Spaghetti with tomato sauce.  Both come in at around 250 calories.  That is great!  Especially when you compare it to other restaurant’s kid’s menus nutritional facts.  I love knowing Carino’s has better options for kids.

    I am Eating Pizza & Creamy Fudge Bars and Losing Weight

     

    I have been getting the Nutrisystem Select Fresh Frozen foods.  I love these foods!  They are really good and help me feel satisfied and stay on the diet.  I am loving the Creamy Fudge Bar.  It’s delicious and seems to last forever!  At least I make it last as I savor every last lick :) I am also loving the Turkey Pepperoni Pizza.  We are big pizza lover’s at our house and this satisfies my pizza cravings.  Can you believe I can eat fudge bars and pizza and lose weight?  I still can’t believe it, but it’s true!

     

    So I have been on Nutrisystem for about a month now.  I can see my body changing and I am felling so good about it.

    I had a minor set back last week when I hurt my back.  I didn’t stick to the diet as I should.  I was in so much pain I just didn’t have the strength or self control to stay on the diet.  I know I know, that is totally bad of me.  But I am back on it and going strong! (And my back is feeling much better). When you are on any diet you will have set backs or things that go wrong.  You cheat or life gets stressfull.  The key is getting back on track and moving forward.  Don’t dwell on these mistakes or set backs, just learn from them and move forward with a positive attitude.

    I love that Nutrisystem has counselors that you can call and talk to while you are on the diet.  They can be so helpful and motivating.

    So I have lost 8 lbs. so far!  My jeans that were really tight are fitting me better.  I can see a difference in my body and I am so excited to slim down.  I have been carrying around this extra weight since Bug was born.  3 years!  And I am tired of it, and so excited to be getting rid of it.

    Trend-Lab Cloth Diapers Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

    I have been curious about cloth diapers for a while. I haven’t been brave enough to invest in a starter kit, because I haven’t been sure that cloth diapering is for me.

    That’s why I was excited to try Trend-Lab’s new line of cloth diapers. They sent me a blue diaper with a boys liner.

    The first thing I love about this diaper is that you can get it with a gender specific liner to provide protection where it’s needed most:

    • Up front for boys (blue)
    • Middle for girls (pink)
    • Equal padding for all (white)

    The liner is made of microfiber and it has elasticized sides for a contoured fit. The elastic sides are great for preventing leaks.

    I also like that this diaper has a snap-in-insert. No pockets to mess with! It’s quick and easy to change my son and I don’t have to change the shell at every diaper change.

    Besides being cost effective & environmentally friendly, I think cloth diapers look pretty cute Winking smile. Trend-Lab’s cloth diapers are available in many fashionable colors and prints including: pink, blue, green, white, natural, brown, pink with brown polka dot and blue with brown polka dot.

    I just bought Harrison his first pair of Crocs, and he absolutely adores them, for one reason. He can get them on himself! He wants to wear them everytime we leave the house! And while he’s gotten pretty good about getting them on and off, he’s not always so good at getting them on the right feet. Well, that was until I put in his Shoezooz educational shoe stickers! I just LOVE that they use animals, as obviously my almost 2-year-old is rather illiterate. They actually really help! I love to watch him line them up before he puts them on. So adorable.
