Bug sees his cousins riding on their scooters and has asked several times if he can have a scooter too. I always said “Not until your older”. That was until I was introduced to the Radio Flyer E-Z Rider Scooter. It says that kids ages 3 can ride it so I thought we would give it a shot with 3 and a half year old Bug.

When it arrived it was completely assembled and folded, I just had to unfold it and adjust the handle bars to Bug’s height. He immediately started riding with no problems! I was so impressed. Because they have made the wheels wide and the deck board wide as well, making it easy for little ones to use. Like I said the handle bars are completely adjustable so it can grow with your child.

I really recommend this easy to ride scooter for kids who want to ride a scooter but aren’t quite old enough for the more advanced ones. My 3 year old is having a blast riding around on his new scooter with his cousins!

Think Geek- Harry Potter Proclamation Board Review

As I have said many times, I am a Harry Potter fan. I think that I can honestly say that I have stepped into ‘Harry Potter Geek’ territory. I was so excited to discover that the company, Think Geek, has made a replica of Dolores Umbridge’s Proclamation Board from the 5th Harry Potter film.

If you are not familiar with Harry Potter, Dolores Umbridge is a nasty professor that comes and teaches Harry Potter and his class during the 5th book of the series. She is truly pure evil. In the story, she becomes the High Inquistor of Hogwarts and makes new and ridiculous proclamations of new rules at Hogwarts. These new rules are posted on Proclamation boards.

On the board, it is dry erase so I can make my own ‘proclamations.’ I am excited to use this to post my own little notes at my house or maybe even in my classroom this fall. What I really like is that at the top of the board, there is a place to store the mini eraser and the dry erase markers. I also love how detailed the Proclamation Board is. It feels very authentic! They really paid attention to how it should look.

Fusion Pilates 4 Pre & Post Natal DVDs Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

So when I found out I was pregnant I knew that I wanted to start an exercise program that I could continue after the baby is born. I am NOT a big exerciser in fact I kinda hate it. BUT I didn’t want to gain a bunch of weight back that I had lost, so I needed to do something. I decide to try out the Fusion Pilates videos by Jennifer Gianni.

The first thing that I loved is that it isn’t super hard and it’s safe for all pregnant women! The techniques that you learn in the videos will help you prepare for labor and will even help your body get back to normal afterwards!

We were excited to learn about WhatsWhat because it is for tweens ages 7-13 and C is 11, the perfect age for this site. C has been bugging me to let him sign up for a Facebook account but I have always said no. He is too young and it isn’t safe enough. So when I heard about all the great safety features I told him we could get him a WhatsWhat account. When I told him WhatsWhat is a facebook for kids he said “Really that’s so cool” I knew he would love it

Signing up an account for your child is Free. They do charge your credit card one cent to make sure your child has parental permission to be using WhatsWhat. It was really quick, within a few minutes he was approved and ready to start enjoying WhatsWhat.

Then when C logged in for the first time it had him take a picture using our webcam. Then every time he logs in in the future it references that picture to make sure it is C logging in and not anyone else. I love that it is not an easy log in process and that it has to be a child logging in. I love knowing that he is in a safe online social environment.

Another great thing is C was able to send invites to his friends email addresses inviting them to WhatsWhat.me. Your child is only able to connect with children in their age group (their grade and the grade above and below). If they want to connect with someone out of their age group then they have to get parental approval.

C is having a blast playing games, connecting with friends, earning MePoints and creating and joining groups on WhatsWhat.me.

This new kids social network is a hit with both my child and me and I am so glad we have found a place for him to talk and share with his friends that is safe!

The Blue Plate Diner was founded on the axiom that it is better to give than to receive, and therefore prides itself in abundant portions and service that comes straight from the heart.

Modeled after the mom and pop restaurants of a by gone era the Blue Plate obtains much of it’s character from articles salvaged from such places. The authentic soda fountain, built in 1949 was reclaimed from the Olympic Club, located less than a mile away while many of the tables and chairs and kitchen furnishings were procured from the Cowboy Cafe in Fillmore Utah, formerly Utah’s state capitol. We had never been to The Blue Plate Diner before and were very excited to try it out. I love that they serve breakfast all day, they also serve lunch and dinner. We went on a Sunday around 12 and couldn’t believe how many people were there. It was hoppin’ and that’s when we knew it was going to be good. We only waited about 20 minutes and then got seated inside this adorable diner. I love the feel of it, it feels like your at home with a home cooked meal. We all decided to order Breakfast food and here is what we got:

My hubby got the Chili Verde Con Carne Omelette: black beans, cheddar cheese, & onions smothered with pork chili verde. It was delicious! The Chili Verde Sauce was awesome, such a great flavor.

I got The Veggie Bene (Eggs Benedict): vegetarian sausage, hollandaise and tomato. Let me just say, the best Eggs Benedict I have ever had! Ever! So delicious just writing about them now makes me want some more!

Bug got the The Gordon Jr. Kids Meal:1 egg, 1 pancake, and 1 piece of bacon or sausage/. Yes that picture below is the kids meal. It was huge! Bug gobbled up the pancake so fast (I didn’t even know he could eat that much!) so he really loved it.

All our meals came with Homefries and they were delicious!

Even though we had breakfast we couldn’t pass on the dessert. Bug got the Hot Fudge Sundae and Hubby and I shared the Banana Split. They both were so BIG! And oh so yummy. I haven’t had a banana split in so long and this one was amazing!

If you live in Utah or are traveling to Utah, I highly recommend The Blue Plate Diner! It’s a fabulous Diner in Salt Lake City, in fact I can’t wait to go back and try their lunch and dinner. Yummm…

Huggy Buddys Stuffed Animal Heating Pads Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

My girls are always complaining about some sort of ache…..whether it is growing pains, a belly ache, or a headache, we usually have something going on. Instead of giving them medicine, I have always given them a homemade heating bag to help them fall asleep. It works like a charm, so when I heard about Huggy Buddys, I KNEW my kids needed one. We received the Giraffe Buddy, the Elephant Buddy, and the Puppy Buddy and they are all so cute!! The bags are filled with Flax Seed which holds heat really well, and the lavender scent is so soothing! I think it is going to be a nightly ritual to heat up the Huggy Buddys before bed . These are the BEST heating pads for kids!

Leah absolutely loves her Huggy Buddy. The first thing she said was how cuddly, soft and warm it was! I showed her pictures of the cute animals on the Huggy Buddy website and asked her to pick one, she picked the Pig! I love how cute and soft it is and it’s perfect for when she is feeling cold or a little achy! It’s great that it smells good too. It’s perfectly safe for kids and they are super cute too! I also love that it can be used as a cooling pad. Leah gets bumps and bruises and doesn’t always let me put an ice pack on it and this is a perfect way to maker her and I feel better!

My boys love their new Huggy Buddys- we were able to review the Monkey and the Zebra- I just loved how cute they are, it was hard to decide what to pick! I had never heard of Huggy Buddy’s before… I love the concept! They have reheatable inserts that keeps your child’s Huggy Buddy warm, and smelling wonderful! What a better thing to go to bed with? I wish they made some grown-up pillows! Winking smile The insert is super easy to remove and heat up, and my boys just loved the anticipation of waiting for their new favorite snuggle pal. These warm toys are the perfect size for my boys to hug and love on- we love our new Huggy Buddys!

I had never heard of stuffed animals with warming pads inside, at least until I was introduced to Huggy Buddys. My first thought was “What a great idea!”. Kids love their stuffed animal and use them for comfort. Adding the heat and aroma therapy elements add even more comfort from their favorite friend. I also love the idea of a kids heated stuffed animal, because kids are more willing to use it than a regular heating pad. Like when they have an injury or a tummy ache. Cause it’s fun! Bug picked out the Giraffe Buddy and C picked out the Zebra Buddy. When they arrived at our house I was immediately impressed by how cute they are! The heating pad is inside a pocket with a Velcro closure. It is the new kind of Velcro not the old rough stuff, so I love that. It is really easy to take the heating pad in and out and warm it in the microwave. I love the Lavender aroma therapy because it provides a soothing aroma for them, perfect for bed time! I recommend Huggy Buddys, your kids will love them and you will too!

Christmas in July with Storkie.com

I love Christmas so much! It is such a fun time of year. I love the lights, the music, the food, the traditions and all the fond memories made. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite Christmas Traditions:

Christmas Cards- We send out family Christmas cards every year. My favorite are photo Christmas cards because then you get to show everyone what your kids look like (they grow so fast). 12 Days of Christmas- We choose a family in need and then we secretly drop off gifts and goodies for the 12 days before Christmas. The kids love it. You can make up cute sayings for each day to go with the gifts or goodies you give. My mom started this tradition with our family when I was a kid and I have always loved it each year.

Have a Christmas Pageant- Whether it’s a big church pageant or a small pageant for your family, it is great to reenact the birth of Christ with your kids. We always put on a pageant for our family when we were kids and I have fond memories from it.

Go Caroling- Singing really gets me in the holiday spirit, especially when you go caroling. I love spreading Christmas cheer through singing.

Help those in need- Whether it’s giving to the Angel Tree or your time spent at a soup kitchen. It is so important to give, and more important to teach your kids to give. I have Bug choose a bunch of his toys to give away to a family in need at Christmas time and it is amazing to see him sacrifice some of his favorite toys.

Bug loves to play with dough, but since he is 3 he doesn’t remember to put it away. Then it dries out and has to be thrown away. That can get expensive. So I was really excited to get to try out Bubber with Bug. Bubber is a great alternative to clay and dough. It doesn’t dry out and has a lot of great features (see Brag Worthy below). I love that it doesn’t dry out. My play dough problem solved! It is crumbly but easily presses to itself easily making it easy to pick up. The small peices also vacuum up easily with my hand vac. Bug is really enjoying his Bubber and I highly recommend it for molding fun with your kids.
