From the moment the bell rings in the morning, to the zip of the last backpack at the end of the day, school nurses are there to handle every bump, fever, sore throat, and stomach ache. When you can’t be around during the school day, they are the caregivers that look after your children.
Pfizer Pediatrics wants to honor America’s Greatest School Nurses that go above and beyond for students every day. A school nurse that you trust with your child’s health while they are away from the comforts of home. Does your school nurse go above and beyond in educating and comforting their students? We want to hear about them! Nominations will be accepted nationwide from anyone who would like to honor their exemplary school nurse. One nurse from each state plus Washington D.C. will win a prize valued at $500 and will be entered to win the grand prize: the title of America’s Greatest School nurse and a trip for a getaway from school sickness. For more information and to read the full contest rules and submit a nomination, visit AmericasGreatestSchoolNurse.com. Nominations will be accepted from January 9 to February 23. Voting will be open from April 3 to April 16 and the winners will be announced in early May. See below for more info on how to honor your school’s nurse!

School nurses are some of the kindest people in the world! Their job is so important, and I love being able to rely on our Nurse Angie when the kids get sick at school. I just know they are being comforted and well taken care of while they are in her office. My kiddos have had a few more serious run-ins with the nurse- a head injury and hearing loss. I could never have been more thankful when the Nurse caught my son’s hearing loss issue. He failed multiple hearing tests at school, and I was honestly shocked. How could my son have a hearing problem, when I didn’t even notice it? She was so kind, and I am so thankful for her help as I walked through getting my son hearing aids. The first week he would go see her every morning and she made sure they were in properly and everything, and he also goes to her to get batteries changed when he needs. I love that he has a familiar face to greet him and help him with his hearing aids- she makes it fun for him and for that I am forever grateful. Our nurses do more than fix boo-boo’s- they discover and help treat major problems in children’s lives. Of course, my kids have visited Nurse Angie for the stomach flu, headaches, colds, and coughs. It’s the season where #sickjustgotreal. You know what I mean. Illness’ get passed around like candy at Halloween. So how do you help your family feel better when they are down?
I’m so thankful for good medications that actually help to ease my kids’ suffering. Three of the meds commonly used in our house are Children’s Advil®, Children’s Robitussin®, and Children’s Dimetapp®.
Reading the labels properly is SO IMPORTANT! When you have kiddos of different ages, it’s important to read labels every time.
I love that Pfizer Pediatrics has a huge selection of great medications to help kiddos feel better, and ones that are tailored to their age range. These two below are 8 and 4. It seems like we have had colds and coughs on and off since the weather turned cold- luckily my 8 year old is soothed with Children’s Dimetapp® Multi-Symptom Cold Relief Dye-Free. For the little guy, using Children’s Robitussin® Extended-Release 12 Hour Cough Relief is an amazing way to suppress that awful cough, especially one that can keep kids up at night. Help you kids get relief, and you might just get a little extra sleep as well! Thanks, Pfizer Pediatrics! Don’t forget to get the info below for nominating the school nurse in your life!
