10 Beauty Tips for Working Moms

If you’re a working mom, you have two jobs—taking care of your children and making your employer happy. Between the two, there isn’t much time left over for taking care of yourself. Here are 10 quick and easy beauty tips that you can fit in during those rare moments to yourself:

1. Organize your beauty products. You shouldn’t have to rummage through a crammed-full drawer or heaping basket to find your eye shadow. Keep all your beauty supplies in the type of divided box sold for fishing tackle. If you remove the lid, you can slide it in your bathroom drawer. If you need to make a business trip, just replace the lid and slip it in your suitcase.

2. Get a no-fuss haircut. Ask for an easily-styled haircut that works with your natural texture. If you’re prone to acne breakouts, get a cut that stays out of your face. When oily hair touches the face, it can contribute to pimples and blackheads.

3. Keep dry shampoo in stock. For those busy mornings when everything seems to go wrong and there’s no time to wash your hair, a quick treatment with dry shampoo can get you looking great for the office.

4. Keep a supply of hair accessories. On days when your hair won’t cooperate, don’t waste time trying to curl or straighten it into submission. Tuck it into a neat, professional-looking barrette.

5. Exfoliate while you wash. Instead of a separate exfoliating treatment, use an exfoliating wash a few times a week.

6. Pat your face dry instead of rubbing it. Rubbing your face with a towel can cause fine lines. Patting it dry takes no longer and is better for your skin.

7. Use a combination sunscreen and moisturizer. If you apply it after you get out of the shower or as you prepare for a trip to the playground, you’ll be giving your face a moisturizing treatment and preventing sun damage in one step.

8. Use a combination sunscreen and lipstick. Lips can get damaged by the sun, too, which causes them to wrinkle.

9. Grab a bag of salad mix instead of a fast-food lunch. The vitamin A and other antioxidants in a spinach salad are great for your skin, slowing down age-related degeneration of cells. The salad dressing is not as nutritious, though, so just dip the tines of your fork in the dressing before you spear a salad leaf.

10. Drink lots of water. No matter how busy you are, you’ll probably be drinking something during the day. Instead of a trip to the soda machine, bring some water bottles to work.

I have scars from a surgery I had almost 2 years ago. I haven’t tried any scar minimizing products before so I couldn’t wait to see my results from using Kelo-cote scar gel. One of the reasons why these 2 anti-aging products make me happy, is because they are both great for acne prone skin. While I don’t have severe acne that requires an acne treatment, I do get little breakouts often, and it has been hard to find a product that doesn’t add to the problem. And it got EVEN BETTER after I started exfoliating on a regular basis.

PMD At Home Microdermabrasion Device Review

Now that I am a year older (my birthday was last month) I decided it was time to start an anti-aging routine for my face. I haven’t ever used anything special for my face. That obviously hasn’t been working too well, because I can definitely see some fine lines & uneven skin tone working their way in. I started exfoliating with a homemade sugar scrub a few months ago which was fine, but I got really excited to try out the PMD because I knew it would give me quicker results!

How does it work?

Styling my hair straight with a flat iron is a big job! I need a flat iron that will give me the smooth look I want, in an acceptable amount of time! I really love the look of this new Conair styling tool. It is a deep purple, and is really sleek-looking. Also, it is so thin and light. I couldn’t help but think about how easy it will be to travel with!! I was excited to straighten my hair with it and was impressed with the results. The iron heated up very quickly and it gets super hot. I can’t say that it straightened my hair any quicker than my old iron, but it did a comparable job and I am happy with that. The best thing about this flat iron is that I can get right up next to my head because it is only 1 inch wide. I can also curl with it….but I need a little practice in that area Winking smile .

It works great in my girls’ hair too! The one inch size is a so much easier to use on them. Especially with my 4 year old because her hair is short. I like knowing that the Tourmaline Ceramic is less damaging to their fine hair. And the fact that it has Automatic shut-off makes this iron even better (I am known to forget to unplug my hair styling products).

I have been using Famous Dave’s Self Tanner for a few weeks now & I am really enjoying it. I can definitely see a big difference when I use it, and my skin is not so pasty white! It doesn’t make my skin really dark, but I have only been applying it every 3-4 days and then I use a cheaper store brand in between those days so I can maintain the color. I’ve used other sunless tanning products before and my biggest complaint about them is the smell (you know the smell I am talking about right?).
