Maxi-Cosi Leila Baby Highchair Review

I have been wanting a new baby highchair ever since Leah grew out of hers. I absolutely did not like the one that we had. I had bought it used and thought it was a good chair at first BUT it was a pain in the butt to clean. It had one of those vinyl covers that catches all the yucky food and in order to get all the crumbs out you basically have to take the whole thing off.

So I told my husband I wanted a new one and low and behold I found out that we could review the Maxi-Cosi Leila Highchair! I can’t wait to try this out with

our baby that’s due in October. Leah has outgrown highchairs BUT this one is perfect for any baby or toddler that will sit down.

I love that this is a very easy to clean highchair, all you need is soap and a good wipe down! There are “No nooks & crannies to capture crumbs” (Maxi-Cosi website) It also doesn’t have any vinyl or cloth padding that needs to be removed in order to clean it. I also love that this highchair has a removable tray that is dishwasher safe! The Maxi-Cosi Leila Highchair also has a removable, wipeable seat cushion!

When I first saw the Loop Highchair I loved the look, it is unique and doesn’t look like traditional highchairs. The modern style really appealed to me. When it arrived I couldn’t wait to get it put together.

Right off I realized it is a good sized highchair and the star shaped base is bigger than I expected. As long as you have a good amount of space for your highchair you will be fine, I just wanted to mention that for those of you with smaller space. I love the star shaped base because it makes the highchair so stable.

My favorite features are the reclining seat and adjustable height. The seat reclines to 3 different positions by pressing the buttons on the side. You can easily recline the seat while baby is sitting in the highchair. It is perfect for young babies who are just starting out on solids and may not be able to sit up on their own yet. The seat adjusts in height using the lever on the side. It isn’t an effortless thing (like an office chair is) you really have to push to get it to adjust down. I actually like that since it prevents your toddler from pressing it (sending baby on a wild ride). Having an adjustable highchair is a huge plus for me. No matter where you are sitting you can have baby at a height that is comfortable to you. Especially when your child is older, you can remove the tray and they can eat with you at the table or breakfast bar (because it is adjustable).

I love that the padding is removable and machine washable. It comes with an additional padded insert with head support for younger babies. Another great feature is that it can easily be rotated all the way around, yep 360°. It is great to be able to have baby facing you no matter where you are working in the kitchen.

I think the Loop Highchair is a great choice for a baby highchair!

It’s been quite a while since Bug was a baby but I still remember those long nights of no sleep, the crying, the diapers…Bug was the type of baby who wouldn’t cry unless he was hungry. His favorite thing was to give me no notice. He would just suddenly start whaling at the top of his lungs. Then the race was on, to make the fastest bottle possible. I wish I would have had the Bib’expresso Baby Bottle and Food Warmer back then. If I had, I could have easily had his bottle made in 90 seconds flat! It would have saved my ears from hearing him cry for longer

Although I don’t have a baby at my home, my sister does. So I had her help me out with this review. We both tried it out for the first time together (so I know what I am talking about ). You open the top and fill it with your desired amount of water. You close the lid and push the start button. I was amazed at how fast it heats the water! It only takes 90 seconds! And it heats the water to a perfect temperature of 98°F. While it’s warming you put your formula in the bottle and place it on the container grid. Once it’s done warming it beeps 3 times, then you press the button to fill the bottle with the water.

I love that you only need one hand to use this from start to finish. That way you can easily hold baby in one arm while preparing a bottle.

You can also use it to warm breast milk or baby food by using the Water Bath mode. For this you can leave it where it is (on top) or you can take it off. You fill it with water (to the max fill line), place your bottle or baby food jar inside, then press one of the two buttons. The first button warms room temperature items (or small amounts), the second warms refrigerated items (or larger amounts). Once it’s done it beeps 3 times.

It cleans itself! Yep, it has a clean mode button. You just fill it with water and it will heat and sterilize it, then you send the water through (like you would making a bottle) and discard it.

Another great feature is the bottle sterilizer stored on the back. It is a microwave steam sterilizer and can hold 3 bottles.

I was really impressed with the product from all that I saw, but the mom of the baby needed to try it out just to be sure. I am so happy to report that she loves it! She says: “The Bib’expresso is a heaven send. It takes all the guess work and hassle out of making bottles or warming baby food. It is quick and so easy to use. I really don’t dread those middle of the night feedings as much as I used to because I know I have the Bib’Expresso. I really like that I have 3 products in one, a bottle warmer/maker, baby food warmer, & a steam sterilizer. One thing to keep in mind it is pretty big for a bottle/food warmer so finding counter space for it might be a problem. I however love it’s features so much I don’t care how much space it takes up.”

I love, love, love this product!! It is easy to take with me anywhere & the 5 point harness keeps my son (SAFELY) where I want him. I have used this while visiting family, & at get-togethers with friends who don’t have children. I like to keep it in my car just in case I need it at a restaurant (which I know will happen eventually). It folds up nicely and I don’t feel weird carrying it around because it just looks like a bag. It would even be great to use at home. Highchairs can be bulky and get in the way, but the Go Anywhere Booster Seat fits on a chair that you already have at your dinner table. It is the perfect booster seat for travel & for home!!

Brag Worthy Summer ~ Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Single Electric Breast Pump Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

When I was pregnant with my daughter I decided that I wanted to try out Breastfeeding once she was born. I never really thought much about it, but the more I did the more I wanted to see if it would work for me. It wasn’t the best experience for me because my milk never came in very well and even after pumping (with a not so great pump) I couldn’t get any milk!

So when we got pregnant with this one I decided I wanted to try it out again. I have heard and read that a lot of times your milk comes in better the second time around. One thing I knew I wanted to get was a better breast pump.

Boon Flair Pedestal Highchair with Pneumatic Lift Review and Giveaway ($280 Value!) [CLOSED]

This one-piece seat is the sleekest, smoothest thing going and it makes cleanup unbelievably easy. Its dishwasher-safe tray cover actually fits in a dishwasher. And the continuous height positioning with pneumatic lift is just a fancy way of saying you can pick the exact height you want to fit your table.”

The Boon Flair Pedestal Highchair with Pneumatic Lift looks really cool doesn’t it?! I definitely thought so. But I am happy to let you know that it is a lot more than just a cool looking highchair. It is quality and I find it to be extremely convenient. Here is why: This is a highchair with adjustable heights, because it has a pneumatic lift (like the chairs at the hair salon) so you can easily adjust the height with the push of a button. This is really nice because you can change the height for the counter top and then for the table. When Bug was a baby I wish I would have had the Flair, I never was able to seat him at the table with us because his highchair was stuck at one height (to tall for our table). The other thing I love about the Flair is that it is an easy to clean highchair. You can remove the pad, and wipe it all clean. I love that there isn’t anywhere for food to hide or get stuck in (no cracks). It comes with two removable trays that are dishwasher safe, I love this because while one is cleaning in the dishwasher you have another to use.

A couple things to consider, it doesn’t fold so if you are needing to put it away after each feeding that could be a problem. It is a little on the heavy side (because of the Pneumatic lift). And it has a small tray (about the size of a large dinner plate). While this may seem bad at first I have found that since the tray is smaller your child learns to contain their food/mess. This will make the transition to the table a much cleaner one. Also since the tray is small it fits very nicely in the dishwasher. None of these things are a problem for us, the benefits definitely outweigh them, I just wanted to mention them

We are loving the Boon Flair Highchair and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy to clean adjustable height high chair!

He is getting pretty good at it too, as long as I only put a tiny amount of liquid in. We don’t use the slide-proof tray yet because it doesn’t fit on the highchair tray. But when my son moves up to the dinner table, I think this tray will contain a lot of the mess that is inevitable when any young toddler eats.

When my little lady was an infant she would not only spit up but projectile vomit at least twice a day! I had to change my clothes numerous times. I have one picky little eater. He drives me crazy. He loves his sleep, his toys, his brother… but he HATES fruits and veggies. All kinds. My daughter loves to use sippy cups with straws. She loves how they are just like Mommy and Daddy’s drinks. I love the easy to use mOmma rocking cup with straw. It’s really easy for Leah to twist the lid and the straw pops right out! I love that the straw is included in the cup instead of having to try and find the straw and loosing them all the time. Leah also loves to rock the cup back and forth which keeps her entertained while I finish my food or in the car.

We had the opportunity to try out the new Infantino and Annabel Karmel “Make It Easy” Baby Food Product Line. You can read Joanna’s review of the other products and see what she likes. Here is what I reviewed:

Fresh Food Mill

The Annabel Karmel Make It Easy Food Mill is ideal for making smooth purees for feeding and weaning baby as it gets rid of tough fibers which are difficult to digest in foods like dried apricots and sweetcorn. It is also great for pureeing foods such as potato as pureeing in a blender breaks down the starches and produces a sticky texture.

This food mill is so easy to use. Even though bug no longer eats baby food, we tried out this food mill by making our own banana baby food. It takes all the hassel out of making your own baby food. I wish I would have had it when bug was a baby. I made my own baby food many times and this would have made the process so much easier. I will be using this to make my own baby food and help wean my next babies for sure!

Infantino and Annabel Karmel’s New “Make It Easy” Baby Food Products Review

I’m very into toddler and baby feeding right now- I’m no pro at healthy eating {yet}, but I hope to be someday soon! I’ve even started a blog, FeedingThePrices all about my journey through feeding my children healthy foods. Which is why I was elated when Infantino sent me a bunch of new their new baby food products. They are fantastic, and a definite must have for anyone who is trying to make your own baby food. Here’s a description of the items I received:

Mash & Serve Bowl - The Food Masher & Bowl is great for use at home or out and about. For instant baby food, simply mash banana, avocado, peach or pear on its own or with a little breast milk or formula. It’s perfect for making individual portions for baby. 6 months+

This bowl is great for anything that can be easily mashed, like the bananas I mashed for Ruben. I love it, because I can just feed him straight out of the bowl too. It’s really easy to use, and great for when you’re in a hurry!

Double Decker Mealbox – This Lunch Box makes it easy to store baby purees & finger foods. The double layer storage box ensures that food doesn’t get squashed and with a spoon & fork included, it’s easy to feed your baby when you are out and about. 9 months+ I am so excited to be able to use this mealbox for Harrison’s lunches at his Mom’s Day Out program this year. I LOVE that you can just throw the utensils on the top- genius.

Stackable Food Pots – These stackable food pots are perfect for storing fresh baby food. The pots clip together for easy storage and are see-through so you can tell what food is inside. 6 months+ I love these because they are individual. It’s so easy to just grab out of the freezer and use! I made Ruben some sweet potatoes- just threw them in, and voila! And they stack. Need I say more?

Freeze Tray - This large Food Cube Tray works to store small portions of your baby’s food. By preparing food in batches and freezing it in the food cube tray, you need only cook once or twice a week. Ideal for weaning. 6 months+ These are definitely a must-have for baby food making. It’s so easy to make a large batch of food, then throw them in here. I made Ruben some carrots that I froze. They pop out super easy, and the cover allows you to store without the worry of leaking all over the freezer.

Fill & Freeze Puree Pops – Sucking on something cold will help soothe sore gums when baby is teething. These ice lolly molds are ideal for making fresh fruit lollies from pureed fresh fruit and pure fruit juice. 9 months+ I really wish I would have had these awesome lolly molds with my first son- he was a bear during teething! They are so super easy to use, and I love that they are BPA-free. I have some great pictures of my boys enjoying some Fruity Veggie Pops. Big thanks to Infantino for sending me all these great items!

He was a disaster! and I had to had wash the stains out of his clothes. Luckily when Ruben starts, he will be in a full coverage bib- from neck to knee! I love it. It’s so great to be able to still buckle Harrison into his booster seat, and his lap is protected. The Lesser Messer Bib {how cute is that name?} is great for everyday messes, such as spit up or drool. Not to mention how adorable the patterns are. I love anything with a great fabric! Wicked Big Bibs makes my life easier, which makes it an A+ in my book!

I was so lucky to be able to review a few Born Free Products. They sent me their twin pack of 9 oz. Born Free Bottles.

I don’t currently have a child on bottles but my sister does. She has been using the Born Free Bottles and LOVES them for her son. She loves that they have designed their baby bottles to reduce colic and middle-ear infections. (Her little guy has had a lot of ear infections in the past). But her favorite thing about these bottles is that they don’t leak. She said her old bottles used to leak out slowly on baby if they weren’t put together just right. But these born free bottles seal so well, she hasn’t ever had a leak. I am convinced. I will be using Born Free when I have my next baby.

This is the perfect cup for bug. Now that he is almost 3 he is old enough to use a sippy straw cup without me having to worry about spills. This cup isn’t completely spill proof, but when you tip it upside down it just drips slowly. So when bug drops this cup it is much less messy than when he spills a regular cup. He likes it because it doesn’t seem like a sippy, it seems more like a big boy cup with a straw. It has become his favorite sippy (he prefers it above all our others). I also have been playing favorites with it. I just think it looks great! I love that bug can twist the lid himself putting the straw away and opening it back up again.
