The first time I came across The Vintage Pearl, I fell in love with all of their unique personalized jewelry. No, this isn’t your typical jewelry. This is the stuff that will get passed down to your children’s children because it will be that special.

I was so excited to receive something from The Vintage Pearl!! I had a really difficult time choosing from their custom handstamped jewelry because I wanted ALL of it! But I finally went with the beautiful eclectic charm bracelet with all of my kids’ names stamped on charms. The charms are spaced out evenly on a sterling silver cable chain with a single freshwater pearl at the end (you get to choose the length of your chain). I also added a freshwater pearl between each charm from their ‘Ala carte’ section. I got to choose the shape of each charm and also the font used. I really liked how I could customize my bracelet to look the way I wanted. It makes it much more special. I received my bracelet really quickly and my girls LOVE to find which charm has their name on it. I am so happy with my charm bracelet and it’s great because if I decide to have more children, I can easily add their names to it!

When you stop and think: What is Love? I am sure we all come up with different definitions depending on our circumstances and experiences. But what about when you ask your children?

So I decided to asked 3 year old Bug “What is Love?” and he said “Ummmmm…” so I said “What is it? What is Love?” and he said “My Daddy is Love”.

I have to confess my boys have yet to play with it- I’m saving it as a Christmas present for them. I did take it out of the box just to check it out, and I think they are going to LOVE it! The spinning banana is too cute- Harrison is going to go “bananas” {Sorry, had to do it.} I also love that there are two other Playskool Wheel Pals playsets, and they call can connect together! What a great idea for multiple presents. I just love the little farm one- I think that might be next up on our list. These preschool toys would make the perfect Christmas gift- it’s affordable, and TONS of fun!

{Brag Worthy Christmas} Step2 Master Chef Play Kitchen Review

I have really been keeping my eye out for a great gift for Leah for Christmas. I have debated on what to get her many times, but finally settled on the Step2 Master Chef Play Kitchen. I couldn’t wait to get this, I don’t know if it was more for me or for Leah!

My husband and I decided to save this for Christmas BUT we did open it up and put it together, then hid it in the laundry room. This little kitchen is the cutest thing I have ever seen! I know Leah will have so much fun playing with it. My neighbor has one like it and Leah always asks to go over to their house to play with the Kitchen.

I love that this comes with lots of different accessories to accompany a “real” kitchen atmosphere.

My oldest son is “all boy”. He’s so into cars and trucks these days, so he was squealing with joy when I unveiled his Green Toys Fire Truck. I got pretty excited too, because it’s truly the cutest little truck I’ve ever seen. And of course, we all love that it’s a totally eco-friendly toy. It’s made out of 100% recycled milk jugs {how they turn those into this beautiful little truck, I’ll never know} which is fantastic. I love that it’s very simple- no batteries, no gadgets. Just fun. It’s safe for kids 1+, which I LOVE, because so many trucks and bigger toys are for older kids, which means I don’t like having them in the house with my little Rue around, who can get into mischief with anything. Green Toys has so many other great toys for kids, be sure to check them out! You will definitely be able to find a Christmas present for any little one on your list!

{Brag Worthy Christmas} Danny Birt’s Children’s Book Between a Roc and a Hard Place Review

“Given the choice of texting, tweeting or TV, today’s youngsters are purposely choosing to curl up with a good book! It’s no wonder with the bevy of adventures and fantasies written for inquisitive young minds – the literary success of Artemis Fowl, Lemony Snicket and Harry Potter top the list. Cyberwizard Productions is adding one more title to the bookshelf, Danny Birt’s Between A Roc and A Hard Place. With themes of abandonment, adoption and creating an inter-species family, the quick prose takes children outside their comfort level and stretches their imagination and vocabulary. But humor and detailed illustrations (by Swedish illustrator Richard Svensson) make this chapter book a quick read.”

I love fantasy books and I love books with a great message to recommend to others. Between A Roc And A Hard Place is a book that fits into this category.

This book tells that story of a dragon who grows up with a family of a different species called Rocs (they are like giant birds). Our dragon friend and the other characters in the book learn that a family is what you make it. That it is ok to be different and love others even if they are not the same as you.

One thing that I liked about this book was the amount of description Mr. Birt puts into his characters. As I was reading this book, I was in the story and could see what the animals and creatures looked like in my mind. I also liked how the main character, Tephra, was a strong character and did not let the hard events in the story get in her way. She stood up and took care of herself. I love stories with strong, female characters. This books is also a quick and easy read. Once I got into this book, I could not put it down. When I got to the end, I was really surprised because I could not believe the story was over already. It had my complete focus and attention. It is a fun, enjoyable, and simple read.

If you have children who are fans of fantasy children’s books, dragons, and just a fun, short story, Between A Roc And A Hard Place is a great book to look into for a Christmas gift!
