Yummy Drink Recipes:

Chocolate Snowball
Ingredients:
2 oz coconut rum
2 oz  Irish cream
1 oz hazelnut liqueur
3 1/2 oz melted chocolate
3 1/2 oz cream
1 dash chocolate syrup

Preparation: Place the chocolate syrup around the glass then place the other ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into glass.

Ingredients:
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz mango syrup
1 1/2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz blood orange juice

Preparation: Shake well over ice cubes in a shaker, and strain into a collins glass half-filled with crushed ice.

Ingredients:
1 oz creme de cacao
1 oz vanilla schnapps
1 oz Irish cream
milk

Preparation: Pour liquors into a beer mug, and fill with milk. Stir, and serve.

I couldn’t wait for my Cherry Blossom Wall Decal to arrive so I could put it up in my home. When it arrived my husband and I put it up right away.  It comes on a big 50” x 26” sheet and each branch, twig and flower is on it’s own.  I love this since we were free to design the tree just as we wanted for the wall we were putting it on.  Since some of the branches are so large I recommend having 2 people to put it up.  It was really fun to create this tree with all the blossoms and flowers.  Since we are able to choose where everything goes it truly is a unique work of art.  I love that these Wall Hugs stickers are re-positionable and re-usable.  So if you don’t put it exactly where you need it, no problem just peel it off and try again.  It really made the process so easy to do.

 

Once we had finished I stood back and gasped because it was so beautiful! Just from seeing it on the DesignYourWall website I had imagined it would look very pretty up on my wall but I had no idea it would be as gorgeous as it is.  The pictures can’t do justice to how adorable it looks in person.  It’s sooooo cute!  I actually keep finding myself going into that room just to look at how gorgeous it is :)

It literally takes up almost the whole wall in our room making it the adorable vocal point and a true art piece in the room.  Best of all it is available for the low price of just $49.99 at DesignYourWall.com.  That is an amazing price for such quality wall art. I’ve always loved wall decals, but they seemed like a hassle, and one that I purchased from Target a while ago kept falling off, so I was a little turned off by them for awhile. But nonetheless, I still was excited to try out designyourwall.com’s Wall Hugs! We were able to review the Alphabet Zoo, and I absolutely LOVE it! All the animals and letters are modern, cute, and fantastic colors. My favorite is the Owl. I knew exactly where I wanted them {the playroom} but have been meaning to paint in there, so I wanted to wait to set up our Animal Zoo until then. So in order to check them out, I just opened it and peeled off the Hippo & letter H. They’re supposed to be re-usable, right? Well what better way to put it to the test on the living room wall. Let me tell you, I was skeptical, but am now a believer! Both pieces stuck to the wall immediately, and didn’t seem like they were coming off easily. I was really hoping I didn’t ruin it! But when I started to peel them back off, they came right down, and I easily put them back on the roll. Magic! I saw some of their holiday Wall Hugs, and thought they are adorable, but there’s no way you could actually use them year after year- how could they stick to the wall well, but also come off, and still stick the next year? Well, I wasn’t able to answer HOW that’s possible, just that it is. I’m thinking next year I’m going to buy one of their fun little Christmas trees! I love that the Animal Zoo pieces all come separate, so you can use your own creativity- put them all together, or line them at the top of the wall around the whole room. Dapper Snappers Big Kids Belts Review and $25 GC Giveaway

 

As Bug gets older I find it harder and harder to find pants that fit him right, so I imagehave been on the lookout for Boys Belts.  But with his age it is really hard to find belts he can actually buckle and un-buckle himself.  That is why I was thrilled to learn that Dapper Snappers now has Big Kids Belts! 

We reviewed Dapper Snappers a while back, you can read our Dapper Snappers review to see how we really like them.  Now I was excited to try out their new belts for kids.

When the belts arrived I was impressed right away.  The belt itself is fully adjustable making it possible to get a lot of use out of it as it grows with your  child.  It is made of suspender elastic so it gives a snug fit that is comfortable.  The best part is the buckle.  It is a magnet!  So 4 year old Bug can easily buckle and un-buckle it all by himself.

I mainly nurse my babies, but I am not opposed to using bottles every so often. In fact, I plan on introducing a bottle to this next baby as soon as we have breastfeeding down. With 3 other kids, I need the como9freedom that a bottle will provide. In my opinion, there are very few bottles that help a baby transition from breast to bottle easily. And I haven’t actually found any that I really loved….until now! Comotomo bottles are squeezy silicone baby bottles that I know I will love using with this new baby! Whole Grain First Ingredient with General Mills Cereal with White Check + Cereal Prize Pack Giveaway

We know whole grain is important to you, and the Dietary Guidelines recommend choosing products with a whole grain listed as the first ingredient. Now every cereal with the white check has more whole grain than any other single ingredient with the same great taste. According to Dr. Travis Stork, emergency room physician and host of “The Doctors,” identifying whole grain products can be challenging. Shoppers can look for nutritional cues on the front of the box, but they need to read the ingredient list to know if they are getting enough whole grain. Ingredient lists detail ingredients in order of prevalence, and if the words “whole grain” are followed by a grain like wheat or oats, it means the food contains more whole grain than any other single ingredient. Here’s how to determine if your cereals have whole grain as a first ingredient:

With all the health messages facing grocery store shoppers, it can be confusing to translate what appears on food labels into nutritional needs, and hard to determine which foods have a meaningful amount of whole grain. Dr. Stork has some additional recommendations to help you include whole grain easily into your diet. They include:

  • Start Early! The Dietary Guidelines recommend people get at least 48 grams of whole grain in their daily diets. Get a jump-start on the day’s nutrition by incorporating whole grain into your morning routine. For instance, when choosing cereal make sure whole grain is listed as the first ingredient. One easy choice is cereal with the white check, which have more whole grain than any other single ingredient.
  • Make Simple Swaps. Choose whole grain versions of the foods you love. Great options include whole wheat pasta and whole wheat bread or even whole grain crackers. Also, try different types of whole grain. Use brown rice instead of white rice as a side dish at dinner or popcorn, which is a whole grain, for a snack.
  • Don’t Judge a Food by Its Cover. The front of food packages provide good nutritional cues, but don’t forget to read the ingredients and check the nutrition label and side labels for additional health information. Cereals with the white check even include the amount of whole grain per serving on packaging.

As you can see it is a GREAT stroller with many features to make your trip out and about with kids easy and comfortable.  It provides a very smooth ride thanks to the four independent wheel suspensions.  Your child can easily stay asleep while riding even when going over bumps.  You can push and turn this stroller with just one hand.  It turns on a dime and is effortless!

Each seat has it’s own individual recline and can be reclined to 4 different positions.  When reclined fully your child is laying in a flat position perfect for little ones who need to take naps while you are out and about.

One hand recline makes it very easy to recline and adjust the backrest.

There is also an infant safety enclosure net on each canopy.  It provides security for your baby.  You can also unzip it (as shown) for air flow to your child or to check on them.

 

 

 

It comes with 2 infant head rest inserts (shown on the left) and has a 5 point harness system which is easy for an adult to buckle and un-buckle (not easy for a child).

It also comes with 2 additional arm rest bars providing more leg room for older children.  All armrests are removable and are extremely easy to remove and reconnect.

Large utility basket underneath can hold a large diaper bag as well as other items and bags.  Great for holding everything you need on your day out.

  Zipper provides side access to the storage basket.  This is great because if both children are fully reclined you won’t be able to access the basket from the back.  With this feature you will still have access to cargo underneath.

It also comes with a sun shade and foot muff accessory. It usually takes quite a bit of time for me to make a photo book since I like to have everything perfect before I order. That is why I decided to make a Photo Calendar at VioVio. I figured it would be quicker and also, I have wanted to get a photo calendar for a long time so I figured now was that time!

My calendar really was very quick to make. All I had to do was upload the photos that I wanted (luckily we just had family pictures taken in October so I had the perfect photos to include!) and add them to the free 2012 calendar template. You can also purchase pre-made templates that other users have uploaded, but I chose to just go with the free one. Once my vio3photos were uploaded, the process took about 10 minutes. I was really excited when my calendar arrived. It looked great, my photos were all in the correct place, and I am very happy with the results. Now I get to see my cute family on my kitchen wall instead of random pictures of trees and birds (you know…that come on most of the free calendars you receive in the mail Winking smile). The only thing I would change is to add holidays to the calendar but it’s not a huge deal. VioVio makes it so easy to share your photos in several different ways!

D.I.Y. Crafting Kits and Projects ~ Poppy Seed Projects Review and Giveaway

I am not a huge crafter BUT if someone gives me directions I can usually follow them and end up loving the results. Poppy Seed is a great place to find D. I. Y. Crafting Kits and Projects. I love that they give you the step by step instructions and any additional materials that you need.

I just purchased a home a couple months ago and I needed some things to decorate my new place. I came across Poppy Seed Projects and thought this is perfect! I decided to choose 3 projects and it took me a little while to get them IMG_2157done because I had just had the baby. These projects were super easy and super cute! If I can do them anyone can! I chose the HOME blocks for my first project. Basically I was sent 4 blocks of plain wood, the vinyl letters and that was it!  I started out with painting the blocks black and then I selected the scrapbook paper that I wanted and added some mod podge and Walla! I think they turned out pretty dang cute!

I really like their section of home decor craft kits. Each Kit comes with several items and detailed instructions. One of my favorite kits is the Countdown Blocks. So so cute!

The Highchair-Helper is a pretty cool little product. For toddlers like my son, who want to try out their independence but aren’t quite coordinated to do it all helper1themselves, it is a life-saver (or a sanity-saver). We no longer use the highchair for E during meal-time, but that is ok because the Highchair-Helper can also be used at the regular table. It’s basically a sticky placemat that keeps dishes from moving & sliding around so much. I have spent money on toddler dishes with the suction cups and they never stuck well to any surface. Lately we have been having a lot of spills at meal time.  Mainly with drinks. It is most likely because 4 year old Bug has so much energy these days.  I think he just gets a little to excited and then accidentally knocks over his drink.  I could helper2just go back to the sippy but he insists on using a “big boy” cup. I was getting frustrated but didn’t know what to do.  When I heard about the Highchair-Helper I knew it was the solution I was looking for.  The Highchair-helper isn’t just for high-chairs you can use it as a toddler placemat on any surface.  So we have started using it on Bug’s little table where he eats and it has been really great.  The Highchair-Helper is sticky and holds his cup in place.  It doesn’t completely eliminate spills but it has given us a significant improvement.  I love that if it loses it’s stickiness it is easy to clean with just water and goes right back to being sticky again.  I will definitely continue to use this with Bug and with the new baby as a baby placemat on the highchair once Heidi_Sig_Orangehe/she arrives.  It will be so nice to stick a bowl to the highchair-helper so then baby won’t be able to grab it and spill it all.  I recommend the Highchair-Helper to all parents of baby’s and toddlers, it’s a must have!

If you have been looking for running earphones, or earphones for any physical activity look no further.  I have found the perfect product for anyone who is active outside and loves to listen to music.  My hubby rides his road bike regularly and loves to listen to music as he does.  For safety he leaves one ear open (as you should) so he only uses one side of his headphones.  It always annoyed him that the sound quality was never right since standard headphones are made to use both sides he didn’t get the full effect of the music.  Also, it annoyed him to have to tuck in the other headphone to get it out of the way. The One Good Earbud is available in different styles: In ear, wrap around, iPod style, with or without a mic…For my hubby I got the In ear with Mic.  It is perfect for him since he likes to be able to answer his phone as he is riding, with the mic he is able to do just that.  The sound quality is great with this single earbud and he no longer has to worry about the other earphone getting in the way.  This earphone is great for any activity where awareness is needed as well as for use with his smartphone while driving, etc…This single earphone is also ideal for someone with a hearing impairment in one ear.

BuDLoKs are a great way to ensure that your in ear headphones stay in your ear.  My hubby uses them with his in ear one good earbud while riding his bike and exercising and they work great.  He no longer has to worry about his earphone falling out while he is active.  They provide a really nice snug fit and since they come in a pack with 3 different sizes he was able to find the best fit for him.  And it worked out that a different size fit my ears so even more bang for our buck!
