A Fun Way to Teach Kids Math and Science ~ The Jammin’ Classroom DVD’s Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

I remember when I was in elementary school I had a Geography teacher who would teach us songs to learn the places on the map that we needed to memorize. It was such a good method for learning and definitely did the trick. In fact I still remember a lot of the songs to this day. C has learned so much just from watching them. Even my 4 year old has been singing the songs. It is amazing to hear him singing about shapes he never knew before.

I’ve mentioned before that my daughters are music lovers. They get it from their dad. I am glad they like it so much, but I have anxiety about the kind of music that the radio has to offer. The only station I let them listen to is Radio Disney because I feel the need to protect their ears from most of the other music out there. Well, Radio Disney is getting pretty old. We are a little tired of the songs that are played over & over so we were very excited to receive the Rocknoceros Colonel Purple Turtle Kids CD.

This CD, by the Rocknoceros, is my girls’ new favorite thing to listen to these days. They turn up the volume in their room & have lot’s of fun dancing & singing to it. I often hear them singing the songs around the house while they are doing their chores or just hanging out. And, I actually catch myself singing one of the songs quite often as well Smile . The tunes are really cute & perfectly suitable for the ears of my young girls. Great children’s music is a must have in our house, & we found an album that I know my kids will listen to over & over for years!

Sparkle Bee Hello Kitty Products Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

My two girls love listening to music. We have an old hand-me-down CD player that they use to use all the time. They crank up the volume & jam out in their bedroom and they love making up little dances to the music. To say that we needed a new CD player was an understatement. The only thing good about the hand-me-down is that it still works. Lucky for us, we can get rid of the old one because Sparkle Bee sent us an adorable Hello Kitty CD player.

Billy Kelly’s The Family Garden Children’s CD Review

My daughter absolutely loves anything having to do with music and frankly so do I. I especially love a CD that is fun for the whole family and I don’t have to sit and listen to her Elmo CD’s a million times in a row! I fell in love with Billy Kelly’s The Family Garden CD, it is so silly and fun!

Leah loved to dance around and sing to all of the silly songs. This is such a wonderful CD for the whole family!

What I really loved about this CD is I could actually listen to this a lot and not get sick of it! Some of my favorite songs was the Cover song by B-52’s Rock Lobster and also the silly song “The Invention of the Straw” which will get giggles from everyone! This is such a great, fun children’s music CD that everyone will be up on their feet!

I really like that Billy Kelly started writing songs for his family and it has progressed from there! The Family Garden CD is Kelly’s 3rd cd and is so much fun. I love that on his website you can become a member of the Happy Club and even print out a certificate!

The music is peppy and fun, featuring songs for all age groups, from the interactive “I’m Thinking of an Animal” for the preschool set to a tune for older kids titled “It’s Close Enough,” which pays tribute to all things ALMOST perfect. Parents will dig Billy’s cover of the B-52s’ classic “Rock Lobster” — high-spirited rock and roll played with wild abandon. Molly Ledford from the band Lunch Money co-wrote and joins Billy in singing the sweetly sincere “We Could Be Pen Pals.” There’s even a patriotic country song written for Billy’s dad. “That Old American Flag” is based on the true story of a father-and-son project, erecting a 25-foot flagpole outside Billy’s childhood home. I’m always looking for good children’s music for my kids to listen to- that doesn’t drive me crazy. This can be a challange! LOL. But I love Jamie Broza’s I Want A Dog CD- it’s so funny and cute. Jamie is hilarious. My kids really enjoy it too, and my 2 year old is already starting to sing along. I love it for the car, because it’s my kids always beg to watch a movie, but usually I can distract them because they love this CD so much. It has a Brazilian/Latin flavor, which is very unique and good for my kids. You can listen to this kids cd on Good Mood Record’s website and check it out for yourself!

My girls love to dance & sing, so naturally, they LOVE music. My oldest daughter picks up on music lyrics very quickly, so I have to be very careful about what I let her listen to. Even some songs on Radio Disney (which is where we keep our car stereo programmed to) are not particularly appropriate for my girls’ young ears.

So we were both excited to get the Michael Jackson’s VISION Limited Collectors Edition 3 DVD Set. We sat down and watched it together one night. This set has over 4 and a half hours of video and music. We loved every minute of it. You can see exactly what is on each DVD here. I have always been a huge lover of music, especially when Leah came along. I used to have to walk around the house while singing to get her to sleep and sometimes for her to stop crying. So as Leah grew up I was so excited when she had a HUGE love for music and for dancing!

{Brag Worthy Christmas} Wilson Phillips Christmas in Harmony CD Review

I know I might be letting everyone know about how old I am, but I LOVE Wilson Phillips! I remember listening to them in elementary and Jr. High and practically know all of their songs. So I was really excited to find out that they came out with their first ever Christmas Album called Wilson Phillips Christmas in Harmony.

This new album has some classic Christmas songs and some of their very own.

As you can see all of the women have changed but their music hasn’t. I love the classic sound of all of the women together and they still sound terrific! Wilson Phillips is definitely back and they come spreading Christmas Cheer to all!

One of my favorite songs from the album is Santa Clause is Coming to Town and one of their very own called “I wish it Could Be Christmas”

{Brag Worthy Christmas} Winter Songs: A Windham Hill Christmas CD Review

One of my favorite things about the Christmas season is the holiday music. I am a huge fan of Christmas music! I love all types but I love instrumental music the best. I was very excited to listen to the Winter Songs: A Windham Hill Christmas CD because it all instrumental.

There are several things that I liked about this Christmas CD. It is very soothing and calm. It is a great CD to put in after a long day and just relax. There are also many different instruments used. The first few numbers featured a lot of guitar. Later on the CD, there was a lot of piano music. These were my favorite because I am a piano player. One of the last songs on the CD, The Dove’s Return, is a song done with a harp. It is beautiful to listen to. My other favorite song was December Morning, which is performed by Jim Brickman on the piano.

This CD is perfect for the Holiday season. It is wonderful soothing Christmas music, has a variety of different songs and styles, and it is a great CD for the whole family to listen to.

The album is in stores now, and features such popular Windham Hill artists as Liz Story, Alex De Grassi, Philip Aaberg, and Jim Brickman.

Meet The SqueeGees CD Review

“Featuring 14 educational and humorous tracks that parents will love, the positive songs all have wonderfully sweet messages. When I received this CD, Meet the SqueeGees, to review, I was excited. I love playing children’s music during class at school and I loved the name of this group. “SqueeGees” is a fun word to say and it is a very original name for a group. It definitely caught my attention.

There are many things that I like about the music that The SqueeGees make. First, their songs definitely get into your head. I have been listening to this CD in my car on the way to work and I am stuck with several of their songs in my head all day. My favorites and the ones that are consistently in my head are the tracks: Rules of the Road and Bubbles.

Second, this group has great harmonies. I am not a big fan of children’s music that the artists just sing the same notes with each other. I like it when they harmonize and make it more exciting.

Third, the songs are fun and also teach great messages. Most children’s music seems to focus on the same things like shapes, colors, etc. These things are very, very important for children to know to be successful but it was great to hear and sing songs about other subjects such as animal rescue, the internet, and road rules.

If you have children that love music and you want them to be listening to something educational and fun, Meet the SqueeGees is a great CD to look at!

I have always been a huge Maroon 5 fan- I’ve even had the pleasure of seeing them in concert a few years ago and they were AMAZING. Teach Your Child Spanish ~ GoGoLingo.com Review and Music CD Giveaway [CLOSED]

I was really excited to receive a CD from GoGo Lingo and a chance to teach Leah some Spanish words by checking out the website. I have always wanted my kids to be bilingual or at least know some phrases just to widen their educational horizons.

I first went onto the website to explore and found some great ideas and tricks! In the parents section it said that bouncing your kids will help them learn and practice their spanish numbers! What is more fun then bouncing/jumping on the ground, bed, mom or dad’s knee? Well now while bouncing them, the rhythm and motion will help put numbers into a song that is easy to learn and fun to remember!

I was really excited to play the first fun spanish game, Leah got so excited too! I just sat her on my lap and off we went! It introduces you into the game and shows you your little lingo and you are their to help him gain stars (estrellas) by teaching your little lingo how to speak, reading it a book or playing one of the mini games.

The first game we played was a color game and it has these little bubbles that come up and you click on the color bubble and it tells you the color in spanish. We learned 3 new colors red (rojo), green (verde), and yellow (amarillo).

Their are also lots of other games to choose from like Let’s Speak, Mumzi Madness, a food one and lots more! I used to have an iPod touch. It no longer belongs to me- my 19 month old son has claimed it for himself… LOL. There’s all kinds of music on there for him, games, flashcards, and of course- movies! Now, he’s not very careful with it {obviously}, which is why I’m very happy to be able to review the idox 360 hard case. It’s so much easier to travel with this, and it snaps shut so I can just throw it in my purse and know my iPod isn’t going to get scratched or ruined. And it gets even better- the case flips and becomes a holder so you can watch a movie. Brilliant! My absolute favorite way to use my idox is in the kitchen. I use my iPod touch to find new recipes, and I can easily read them without getting my iPod dirty with my hands. I just love it! Rockabye Baby Lullaby Renditions of Elvis CD Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

My little ladybug LOVES music, and I mean LOVES! She isn’t bias and can rock out to anything. But up until now all I had to listen to in the car was Sesame Street and Elmo, which I love both but after the 100th time of listening to them, I start to go nuts! So when I received Rockabye Baby Lullaby Renditions of Elvis CD to review I was so excited!

I popped it into the car right away and we both started rockin out to the sweet tunes of Elvis! I really liked this CD especially because not only are they great Elvis songs BUT they put Leah in a great mood. My favorite song was Don’t Be Cruel and (Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear. This cd is a great way to put baby to sleep and in a great mood.

I loved this music for baby and kids of all ages. These cd’s make a great addition to any baby shower. And of course you can’t have a Rockabye Baby CD without a rendition and tribute to the King of Rock n Roll Elvis Prestley.
