I have always been a big fan of the Tom and Jerry cartoons. My favorite is Jerry, he is so cute. I was ready to sit down and watch a few hours of Tom and Jerry hijinks.

At first, I did not realize that a majority of this DVD was mostly the updated tales of Tom and Jerry. I am excited that they are introducing Tom and Jerry to a new generation but my favorite shorts on the DVD were the older, classic ones.

A few episodes stood out as my favorites. I really enjoy the short Invasion of the Body Slammers. An alien Jerry comes to earth and creeps out Tom. This short had me laughing outloud several times. I will even admit, the alien Jerry was a bit creepy. I also really enjoyed Kangadoofus. Jerry disguises himself as a baby kangaroo in order to get away from Tom. This episode was just darling. My other favorite was a classic cartoon called Johann Mouse. Tom and Jerry actually somewhat work together on this one as a piano playing cat and a dancing mouse.

If you are looking for a fun DVD to entertain the little ones and even renew some of your own childhood memories, Tom and Jerry: Around the World is a great addition to your family’s movie collection.

If you haven’t heard of them before, Comfort & Harmony is a new line of baby products made by the same company that makes Bright Starts. I own multiple Bright Starts baby products and have been very impressed and happy with them all. So I am excited about this new line. I have a very pink and girly one for my baby girl. And it has such a soft fabric, it’s heavenly!

We are a super hero family for sure, so we couldn’t wait to see the Marvel’s The Avengers movie. We were lucky enough to see it in 3D and it was AWESOME! It was so entertaining. Tons of action and great comedy moments. It was so fun to see all our favorite Marvel characters together in one FANTASTIC movie. I LOVED every minute of the movie and so did my husband. I took my 4 1/2 year old because he is such an avid super hero fan. He also loved the movie but there were a few intense moments that were a little much for him (particularly the Hulk) but the end of the movie resolved his worries as he see’s the heroes come together to save the day (including the Hulk). Another thing to consider, it is a pretty long movie at about 2 hours and 20 minutes long.

This is a MUST SEE MOVIE of 2012, Make sure you see it in theaters since the 3D effects and surround sounds will make the experience so much better!

It is rated PG-13.

2012 Karmin Titanium Professional Flat Iron Review

I have long wavy hair and I don’t really care for the way it looks un-styled. I wish I was one of those people who could let their hair air dry and be happy with the result, but I’m not. Most days, I will straighten my hair….but that can be a rough job if I don’t have the right tools. Lucky for me, I have the new 2012 Karmin Titanium Professional Flat Iron and it works so great with my hair!!

First of all, I love the pink color of flat iron that I received. I’ve always wanted a colored straightener and I finally have one! Don’t worry though, if pink isn’t your color, you can always stick with the black flat iron. I also love the titanium plates that have never once snagged my hair!! This flat iron heats up quickly so I don’t have to waste time waiting and I only have to run it through my hair pieces once or twice to get it super straight and sleek! It works great on thin hair (my daughters) and I would assume the scorching heat of 460 degrees F works great with thick hair. My hair is medium thick and I have the heat at about 360 degrees and it works fantastic. I get smooth silky hair every time. This is truly one of the best flat irons I have used!

Since this titanium flat iron is 1”, it also works for curling hair. I haven’t quite mastered it, but I flip my daughters hair out at the ends with it and it works really well. One of most crucial features of this flat iron is that it has Auto Shut off after 1 hour. Costume SuperCenter for Boys ~ Stealth Ninja Costume Review

My 4 year old son LOVES playing dress up and has several super hero costumes that he plays with. Recently he has become very interested in Ninjas and I was thrilled to see that Costume SuperCenter for boys carries a great variety of Ninja Costumes for boys.

When Bug was a baby I used to cover his infant car seat with a blanket. That never worked well, it made carrying it awkward and it never stayed on. But with baby number 2 on the way I knew I needed a better option. That is when I found the Sprout Shell Infant Carrier Cover. Doorway jumpers are so great for babies to enjoy jumping and play time. But I have never seen such a cute doorway jumper as the Evenflo Jump & Go Red Racer Doorway Jumper. It is SOOOOOO ADORABLE! A little Race Car, too cute!

It fits on any doorway that has molding by simply opening the spring loaded clamp and setting it above the molding. It holds nice and tight. It is also really easy to adjust the height so you can get the most comfortable position for baby to jump depending on their height and age.

The seat is nice and soft for baby and easy to wipe clean.

It has two buttons (one on each side) that baby can push and it will play songs and make noises. It also lights up in the center. It has 2 star shaped toys on the black plastic bar. They are nice and soft, perfect for a teething baby to chew on and play with. The spring is a little noisy as we have been using it but I think it will get better with more jumping (and there is always WD-40 which I haven’t tried).

I LOVE this doorway baby bouncer. It is not only super cute, but high quality and easy to use and move. It is recommended for ages 4 months to walking (up to 24 lbs.).

Pirates! Band of Misfits Film Review~ Opens In Theaters Today!

In The Pirates! Band of Misfits, Hugh Grant stars in his first animated role as the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain – a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a rag-tag crew at his side (Martin Freeman, Brendan Gleeson, Russell Tovey, and Ashley Jensen), and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter rivals Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek) to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It’s a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they battle a diabolical queen (Imelda Staunton) and team up with a haplessly smitten young scientist (David Tennant), but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!

I love Aardman animation, especially their stop action films. When I saw the trailer for this movie, it made me laugh and I thought the humor was very clever. Plus also, it’s a pirate movie, so it has to be awesome.

I had a lot of fun watching this movie. There were fun parts for the kids but there was also a lot of adult humor. This movie also has a great length. It is just under 90 minutes. This movie was not too long or too short, it was just right. The animation was great. It amazes me what people can do with clay. There is so much detail with all of the characters.

I loved the voice cast in this movie. They were obviously having so much fun, especially Hugh Grant. I had a hard time believing that Pirate Captain was Hugh Grant. He got so into the role. I loved the names of the characters. All of the pirates on the ship have funny names like Albino Pirate and the Pirate with a Scarf. They really don’t have true names.

Although, it is not Aardman’s best (Wallace and Gromit is still my favorite), this movie was great and will probably be one the best animated movies that comes out this year. If you want to have some family fun, this would be a great movie to see.

So Much Fun for Kids ~ Nickelodeon Gak & Nickelodeon Floam Review

4 year old Bug has so much energy, it’s great but these spring rainy days can be frustrating for him. That is why I was thrilled to get the iBounce Kids Trampoline from JumpSport. It is an indoor trampoline for kids that is perfect for getting energy out and exercising on a rainy day (and everyday as well)!

It arrived and I put it together right away. It took me about 45 minutes to an hour to assemble it, the JumpSport website says it should only take about 15 minutes so I think my time might be due to my condition (I’m very very pregnant right now) Winking smile It had great instructions as well. Bug loves this trampoline and so do I! It has been a great way for him to exercise, play and just get energy out while inside the house. He likes to jump on it while he watches his favorite movies and TV shows as well, it is nice that he is active even when he is watching TV.

I was very, very excited about this review because I love to wear black leggings to work out it. {Mainly because I feel like my legs are the only semi-decent part of my bod} Just the fact that they are black makes them slimming, and I can wear an oversized t-shirt and not feel overly bulky. The Lucky One Film Review~ See It Today In Theaters!!

“U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Zac Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive–a photograph he found of a woman he doesn’t even kno w. Learning her name is Beth (Taylor Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.”

I am a big fan of Nicholas Sparks’ movies. I absolutely love The Notebook and A Walk to Remember. My sister and I were very excited to see The Lucky One.

Overall, this was a typical Nicholas Sparks’ movie. It was very similar to the plot of the other movies that have been based on his novels. I was alright with this because that is what I was expecting.

For me, it was different to see Zac Efron in a ‘tough guy’ role, playing a Marine. To me, he is still Troy from the High School Musical films. I think that movies and performances like this are really helping him break out of that stereotype and shell. By far, my favorite character in this film was Ellie, played by Blythe Danner. Ellie is the grandmother of Beth and the main owner of the dog kennel where Logan (Zac Efron’s character) gets a job. She has some the best lines in the movie. In addition, I think that Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling had great chemistry together in this moive. I could actually believe that they were falling in love with each other during the film.

Although, it was slightly predictable, I really liked The Lucky One. It is a fabulous movie for a date night or a girls’ night out. I hope to see it with my mom and other sister soon.
