It’s Never too Early to Get Your Summer Swimwear

I look forward to summer coming. Especially since I live in an area where the weather is cold and can sometimes be depressing. Summer is full of so many fun activities my favorite is being at the pool. Whether I’m laying out or swimming with my son I want to look fabulous. I generally tend to buy One piece swimwear since it flatters my body well and covers what is left behind from my last pregnancy But I love that I have fantastic designer choices available to me (they are so cute!).

If you are looking fabulous and are able to wear Two piece swimwear then let me congratulate you hot mama! Way to go. Purchasing women’s swimwear is an important decision making process. You want to make sure you get the perfect swimwear for you. Here are my top tips for Purchasing Women’s Swimwear:

1. Get the right fit. Make sure the fit is perfect for your body type. Do you have certain areas you want to hide? Certain areas you want to showcase? Make sure you pick a suit that does that. If you are shopping online make sure you reference the size chart and measure yourself to get the proper fit.

2. I think designer swimsuits are a must. They have such a fabulous look that is unique from the run of the mill suits you will find at chain stores. Yes they may be a little more on the pricey side, but it is worth every penny. Designer suits are not only gorgeous but are generally made from higher quality fabrics that will last longer than a cheap suit. You definitely stand out in a crowd when you have a designer suit.

3. Make sure it’s comfortable. You are going to want swimwear that is comfortable. Even when shopping online you can find out what fabric it is made from and make sure you are getting the right size for you to be comfortable in it.

4. Only get it if you love it. If you are doubting it at all, then you most likely won’t end up wearing it. So only get it if you are 100% in love and have to have it. This will save you from wasting money and energy finding another suit you do love.

I’m Dreaming of Wearing Two Piece Swimwear this Summer

Oh I miss the days when I could wear two piece swimwear I’m pregnant right now so I really shouldn’t be thinking that at all. But I love when my body looks and feels healthy. Wearing a bikini is just icing on the cake Next summer after I have the baby I am going to get back into bikini body shape and when I do I know wear I will be getting my bikini. Bug sees his cousins riding on their scooters and has asked several times if he can have a scooter too. I always said “Not until your older”. When it arrived it was completely assembled and folded, I just had to unfold it and adjust the handle bars to Bug’s height. He immediately started riding with no problems! I was so impressed. I really recommend this easy to ride scooter for kids who want to ride a scooter but aren’t quite old enough for the more advanced ones. My 3 year old is having a blast riding around on his new scooter with his cousins!

My son loves playing with my sunglasses, but I don’t love letting him. He is too rough with them and they break pretty easily. I was excited to receive a pair of Babiators baby sunglasses for him because I knew they would be durable, & tough enough for everything a toddler could dish up.

I wish I could say that my son actually WEARS his Babiators, but that would be a lie. He loves to put them on, & take them off, & put them on again—and it goes on & on. The good thing is that these baby & kids sunglasses are totally flexible so he can play with them like that, and they aren’t going to break easily. I am trying to train him so he will keep the Babiators on while we are outside, but it might be a while before he decides to do that. Children’s sensitive skin needs sunscreen to limit dangerous UV exposure and their eyes need protection too. Here are the facts:

When compared to adult’s eyes, children’s eyes have fewer natural protections against UV exposure, making them more likely to be damaged.
The more time you spend outdoors, the more susceptible you are to sun damage. Published scientific research concludes that up to 50% of lifetime UV ray exposure may occur by age 18, so it’s imperative that we protect our children’s eyes now!
According to Dr. J. Keller Wortham, a physician with Optimum Wellness Family Medical Group in Los Angeles, excessive exposure to the sun during daily activities can contribute to cataract formation, macular degeneration, pinguecula and pterygium (growth on the eye’s surface), photokeratitis (snow blindness), and skin cancer on the eyelids. Those are a lot of big words, but the bottom line is this: protecting your children’s eyes is critical.
The EPA recommends you wear sunglasses even on days with a low UV index!

Brag Worthy Summer ~ Bumbleride Flite Stroller Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

I am a Bumbleride fan for sure! You can read my review of the Bumbleride Indie Twin Double Stroller from last year. Bumbleride Strollers are such a high quality that I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Bumbleride Flite. Since I just have 3 year old Bug a compact Umbrella Stroller is all I really need (for now at least).

When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised out how lightweight it is. It weighs in at only 13 lbs! That combined with the carry strap, it is a dream for me to get in and out of the car and even to just carry. It also folds really compactly and is easy to fold. I love that once you fold it it locks automatically so I don’t have to fumble around trying to lock it.

Another thing that I was pleasantly surprised about was how much room their is in the seat and under the canopy. Bug is a tall 3 and a half year old and easily fits under the canopy with room to spare. Also, the sun canopy is SPF 45! So not only does it keep your baby cool, but it is protecting him as well. The 5 point harness is really easy to unlatch with just a push of a button. This is so nice for me as I don’t like it when it’s really hard to unlatch, but it does mean that your toddler can easily unlatch it as well.

I was impressed with the recline of the seat, it isn’t flat but it is definitely enough for your child to take a nap comfortably while your out and about. It is a strap recline and you can easily do it with one hand. There is no set limits on the recline so you can do anywhere from straight up to all the way laying down. It also has an adjustable footrest with two positions, down or up. This is a nice feature for a napping toddler to be more comfortable.

I love that you can access the basket from the front. So even when the seat is fully reclined and Bug is asleep I can get what I need in and out of the basket. It isn’t the biggest basket, but it is a good size for an Umbrella stroller and I can fit a medium sized diaper bag or purse under there.

It comes with a universal car seat adapter bar, so you can truly use it from birth and up. (Click here to view a list of compatible car seats.)

Another great thing about this stroller is that the handles are nice and tall, making it much more comfortable for my tall husband to push. While still being very comfortable for me (I am short!). So it’s a win win for us both. I also like how it is really easy to maneuver and has lockable front wheels for the rougher terrain you may encounter.

The Bumbleride Flite is a great High End Single Stroller and I highly recommend it!

This Sports Towel surprised me when I opened it. I was expecting a regular old beach towel, but it’s more like a shammy that you would dry off a car with. After seeing that video I was extremely excited to review the Gyrowheel. What a cool product! It arrived and my first impression was whoa that is a heavy wheel, LOL. We inflated the tire and found it very convenient that it came with an extender (since the tire is unique in it’s design the valve is in a different place than a standard wheel). We also charged the wheel (it is recommended that you charge it for 16 hours) and then once it was charged we put it on Bug’s bike. It was really easy to put on his bike and it comes with extra hardware in case you need it.

Since bug is just learning to ride (and can’t ride on his own yet) we set the stability to it’s highest setting. It has 3 settings, high medium, low, so as your child improves you can lower the stability so the Gyrowheel is helping less and less as you lower it. I was so impressed by how well 3 and a half year old Bug did riding his bike with the Gyrowheel. Because it helps him to balance he is almost able to ride by himself. Really the biggest set back we have been having has to do with the pedaling of the bike. But we have been practicing and he keeps getting closer and closer. Because of the Gyrowheel I know Bug will be riding his bike by himself within the next month or so. I highly recommend the Gyrowheel for kids that are learning to ride a bike!

After browsing for about an hour I finally decided on the Verso KT902-129 Toro Boys Kids Bicycle for Bug. Right now he doesn’t have a pedal bike and I figured this summer was the perfect time to get him one. The shipping from ATG Stores was really fast (arrived within a week). It took my hubby about 30 minutes to put the bike together, it comes partially assembled which is nice so you don’t have to put the whole thing together, just some of it. Once it was put together I was immediately impressed with the quality if this kids bike, it is heavy duty and I can tell it will last for a long time. I also love that it can hold up to 110 lbs. and the seat and training wheels are adjustable. Another way this bike will grow with your child. The red and black look so well together, it is a great looking boys bike. Bug is loving it and likes to ride it to the park and the pool (and all over the neighborhood when we go on our walks).
