When I was a little girl I loved playing with my Barbie dolls.  I had a ton of them and a lot of clothes and accessories.  But what stands out most in my mind was my dollhouse that I used to play with them.  I had so much fun playing with my dolls in my dollhouse. Fond memories.  That is why I think every little girl should have a dollhouse.  So as I looked into dollhouses, I came across this Step2  Three Story Deluxe Dollhouse with Balcony.  I immediately knew it was perfect. 

We own many Step2 products and they are all wonderful.  Step2 to me means quality toys that are durable and made to last.  That is why I think this dollhouse is perfect.  It’s sturdy and durable so you can give it to a toddler and she will be able to play with it well into her childhood.  I like that it is really easy to assemble and only took us about 15 minutes total.  The size of this dollhouse is great.  It is nice and big so more than one child can play at the same time.  But it is still lightweight enough that I can easily move it around if I need to.  I love the pink and white colors, so feminine and adorable!

This is a great quality dollhouse that every girl would love to have!  I highly recommend it as I know it will last for years and years.

Bug loves to play “store” with me so we have been having a lot of fun with his new Zillionz Real-Money Talking Cash Register.  Right off we were both impressed by all the fun features.  It has a real working calculator that talks as you use it.  It is great for helping bug learn his numbers and math problems.  The scanner actually scans!  It comes with a big sheet of stickers you can put on items (we put them on some of Bug’s toys) and then you can scan them in like they are being purchased.  The register will even add all the scans and tell you a total.

It comes with play money and that is what we have been using for now.  It is made to fit real money so your kids can store their real money in it.  What a fun little bank!  It also comes with a plastic credit card and their is a spot to swipe the card and it says “Credit Approved”. Very cute!image

Bug’s favorite part of the register is the real working microphone.  You push the MIC button and hold it as you speak in the mic.  We have lots of fun using this: “Attention shoppers, their is a sale on all toys today.” :)   Bug can’t get enough of it, he thinks it is a blast to use.

Another great feature is the language options for Spanish and French as well as English.  This is a great way for Bug to learn numbers in other languages.  I also like that the batteries come included, that is nice for a change :)

This kids cash register toy really makes our time playing “store” much more fun.  Bug also enjoys playing with it by himself.  This makes a great Christmas gift for kids, I highly recommend it!

Brag Worthy Christmas ~ Giving Back Through the RAZ “Random Acts of Zhu” Program

I always make a point of teaching Bug to give at Christmas time.  Kids especially get caught up in the receiving of gifts and I feel it is so important to teach children that giving is much better than receiving. Each year we do what we can in small ways but we have never had the chance to do something big.

So I was thrilled when I was asked to participate in the RAZ (“Random Acts of Zhu”) Program.  It is the 3rd annual – and largest – community service program sponsored by Cepia, LLC the makers of ZhuZhu Pets®. 

Last year, Cepia, LLC partnered with 100 bloggers and donated 10,000 toys to kids in need in through their 2010 RAZ program.

I was so excited to be a part of it this year!  A couple weeks ago a HUGE shipment of Zhu Zhu pets toys arrived at our house.  My son’s eyes lit up and he thought they were for him.  I told him right away that their are kids who wouldn’t have a Christmas this year and that we would be giving all of these toys to those kids.  I was very happy with his response and his excitement to help other children in need.

We chose to give all of the toys to our local Calvary Christian church so that raz2they would be given to the family’s in the church who were in need of help this year for Christmas.  Bug helped us with the delivery to the church and he was so happy to know that kids in need would have a great Christmas.

It was great to be able to help by giving kids Christmas and I am so happy Cepia allowed my family to be a part of it.

I encourage you all to give this Christmas season.  Even if it’s just a meal to a family in need, or a few gift donations.  It will make all the difference for them!

My 4 year old loves Caillou.  He watches the show regularly and was so happy to get his first ever Caillou toys! (the doll and the train mentioned above).  He has taken to the doll and even sleeps with it.  It is especially fun to see him hold his Caillou doll as he watches the show.  He has become fascinated with trains lately so his new Caillou train is perfect for him.  It combines a train with one of his favorite characters. He thinks it’s fun to wind the green key and then the train moves.  It doesn’t work on our carpet but it works great on our hard flooring. He also really likes that he can ring the bell, and squeak the steam.  One thing that is a little annoying is that the heads of the 2 figures come off, it isn’t a big deal since they go right back on.  But younger children may loose the heads or get frustrated.  Overall we love both of these toys, they are bright and colorful and lots of fun!

My 4 year old squealed in delight when this package arrived at our house!  We are lucky enough to have a relative who has a helium tank in his garage for his business so we took it over to his house and filled it with helium.  If you don’t have a relative with helium, just take it to any store that fills balloons. Along with needing helium it also needs 4 AAA batteries so be sure to have those on hand.  I chose the Clownfish cause I was a little worried about 4 year old Bug being scared of the shark (letting him watch Soul Surfer with me was probably not the best idea I’ve ever had).  Once it was filled I was impressed by the size of the fish, it’s the real deal.  Controlling it is a little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it, it’s not to bad.  I love it really looks like it is swimming through the air.  Super cool! Probably the best thing about it is that the whole family enjoys it and we have all spent time playing with it. Even our dogs are amused/intimidated  by it, which is very entertaining :) I love that it is long lasting, we have had it filled for 2 weeks and it is still floating.  Best of all once the helium runs out you can refill it with more.  Nice.

My 4 year old really likes riding a scooter around the neighborhood.  So I was excited to get the Trikke T5 Kids Carving Scooter for him.  Since it has 3 wheels he was confident on it right away.  I like that he can ride it like a regular scooter, but it is really cool that he can carve the scooter and ride with both feet up.  It took a little while for him to get the motions needed to get the scooter going (a leaning back and forth motion).  Watching some YouTube videos on the Trikke Tech YouTube Page helped us to know just how to ride it.  But now that he has the hang of it he looks like a little pro!  It is actually stinkin’ cute to watch him ride it :)   He does have a little bit harder time going up hill, but I’m sure with time and practice that will improve.  The kids in the neighborhood come up to him and say: “What kind of scooter is that?  It’s so trikke2cool!”  And they all have to have a turn on it.  I like that it has handle bar brakes so he can stop quickly if needed.  My son is having a blast with his new scooter and I know come summer I won’t be able to get him off of it.

I was excited when the Jumbo Soft Wild Animal Set showed up on my door step. I was super surprised too. I guess I didn’t read the description very well because these animals were quite large! But that is ok because my son will love them even more! They are soft too so my sons little hands will be able to pick them cp1up easily. I am really happy with this animal playset.

I always find it refreshing to shop at stores that don’t carry the same old products that everyone else does. While I do sometimes buy my kids trendcp6y toys that all the other kids have, I also want them to have toys that are unique and create a lot of imaginative play. CP Toys has all that and more! I may have to buy it for my girls who LOVE to create pictures and paper designs!!

My kids love Spongebob and this game really delivers.  I love how colorful it is, nice and bright which really makes it fun even to watch the kids play.  The kids love that they can choose to be Spongebob or Gary.  The kids also love that they can choose to skate or surf.  They are having a lot of fun learning how to do cool tricks.  It is great that their is a 2 player split screen option so both boys can play at the same time. I think the best part of this game is that there is no controller.  You (or your kids) are the controller.  Such fun!

It is rated E for everyone so it really is the perfect game for the whole family to enjoy!

I was so excited when I saw the Home Depot Big Builders Workshop.  It is the perfect tools and workshop playset for boys.  As a little girl I loved playing with my pretend kitchen and had so much fun.  This playset is exactly like a kitchen but the boy version.  So cool!  4 year old Bug squealed in delight when this big box arrived at our house.  He couldn’t wait for his daddy to come home and put it together.  I was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty easy for my hubby to assemble and didn’t take very long. 

My son has had a blast playing with it since.  It has received at least a couple hours a day of play each day. There is so much for him to do.  He loves the light which is a simple push on and off.  He even went to preschool and bragged that he had a new workshop at his house with ‘real’ tools and all :)   It is a huge hit at our house!

It is made by Step 2 so it is a great quality.  We have owned many Step 2 toys and products and they are all made very well and last long enough that they are still in great condition when Bug outgrows them and we are able to pass them on to another child.  This is no exception to Step 2’s quality.  This one will last a long long time.

My boys LOVE the Battle Machines R/C Laser Combat Air vs. Land.  They couldn’t wait to start playing with it once it arrived.  It has gotten a lot of play time since then.  It is great that they can both play and take turns being the remote control helicopter or the gun.  It is a great toy with an awesome wow factor.  I highly recommend it.

This little Dragon is so adorable. My first reaction when I pulled it out of the box was how wonderfully bright it is. The colors are so vibrant making baby immediately drawn to it. I gave this to my 1 year old niece and she was instantly attached. She pulled it all around the house with her every where she went. I love how the wings move and flip as it is pulled. Very cute! Brag Worthy Christmas ~ Moxie Girlz Horse Riding Club Horse Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

moxie2Both of my girls LOVE anything that involves horses! They are always begging for me to buy them every horse toy that they see in the store and unfortunately, I just can’t. A lot of times I just don’t want to spend so much money on a little toy that doesn’t even do anything….but the Moxie Girlz Horse Riding Club Horse is not that toy! This horse actually walks on it’s own!

We received Cricket, the palomino horse and she is darling. She stands about a foot tall so she is pretty good size and her mane is long & silky…perfect for hours of brushing and braiding if your girls are like mine Winking smile. Cricket walks with the push of a button and I am pretty impressed. Her walk is moxie3a bit choppy, and she sometimes falls over, but I still can’t think of another horse that my girls would like better. I love Christmas shopping for boys.  They have some really fun toys available so I was excited when I was introduced to the Air Zone Quickfire Auto Fed Belt Blaster.

Bug has a small dart gun which he enjoys playing with.  Man you should have seen his eyes light up when this arrived at our front door to review.  It was priceless.  He of course said, I want to shoot it!!!  It requires 6 AA batteries which are not included so make sure you have them on hand Christmas morning :)   Once we got the batteries in we put the ammo belt in place and filled it with darts.

It has an on off switch on one of the sides which is easy for Bug to turn it on and off. I couldn’t believe how fast he could shoot the darts.  It is so fun watching him and it is easily his new favorite toy. Another great feature is that the end of the gun can come off so it can be long or shorter.  It’s perfect for Bug since he is smaller it makes it easier for him to hold. This toy is recommended for kids ages 6+.
