We love playing games at our house and try to play as a family as much as we can. So we get excited about new Hasbro game releases. The most recent we got to test out is the new Simon Flash Game. It has cubes (similar to Scrabble Flash) that you line up to play 4 different versions of the Simon game. I’m a big Simon fan and have loved playing it since I was a kid. So it has been a real blast playing 4 different versions of the game. I love that it comes with a case to hold the tiles. It is perfect for to use during the Simon classic game since it keeps all the tiles lined up and you can travel with it. It’s fun that you can play alone or with people. This is a great family game and the perfect last minute Christmas gift idea!

Brag Worthy Christmas ~ Zillionz Real-Money Talking Cash Register Review

Bug loves to play “store” with me so we have been having a lot of fun with his new Zillionz Real-Money Talking Cash Register. Right off we were both impressed by all the fun features. It has a real working calculator that talks as you use it. It is great for helping bug learn his numbers and math problems. The scanner actually scans! It comes with a big sheet of stickers you can put on items (we put them on some of Bug’s toys) and then you can scan them in like they are being purchased. The register will even add all the scans and tell you a total.

It comes with play money and that is what we have been using for now. It is made to fit real money so your kids can store their real money in it. What a fun little bank! It also comes with a plastic credit card and their is a spot to swipe the card and it says “Credit Approved”. Very cute!

Bug’s favorite part of the register is the real working microphone. You push the MIC button and hold it as you speak in the mic. We have lots of fun using this: “Attention shoppers, their is a sale on all toys today.” Bug can’t get enough of it, he thinks it is a blast to use.

Another great feature is the language options for Spanish and French as well as English. This is a great way for Bug to learn numbers in other languages. I also like that the batteries come included, that is nice for a change

This kids cash register toy really makes our time playing “store” much more fun. Bug also enjoys playing with it by himself. This makes a great Christmas gift for kids, I highly recommend it!

My 4 year old squealed in delight when this package arrived at our house! We are lucky enough to have a relative who has a helium tank in his garage for his business so we took it over to his house and filled it with helium. If you don’t have a relative with helium, just take it to any store that fills balloons. Along with needing helium it also needs 4 AAA batteries so be sure to have those on hand. I chose the Clownfish cause I was a little worried about 4 year old Bug being scared of the shark (letting him watch Soul Surfer with me was probably not the best idea I’ve ever had). Once it was filled I was impressed by the size of the fish, it’s the real deal. Controlling it is a little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it, it’s not to bad. I love it really looks like it is swimming through the air. Super cool! Probably the best thing about it is that the whole family enjoys it and we have all spent time playing with it. Even our dogs are amused/intimidated by it, which is very entertaining I love that it is long lasting, we have had it filled for 2 weeks and it is still floating. Best of all once the helium runs out you can refill it with more. Nice.

My boys LOVE the Battle Machines R/C Laser Combat Air vs. Land. They couldn’t wait to start playing with it once it arrived. It has gotten a lot of play time since then. It is great that they can both play and take turns being the remote control helicopter or the gun. It is a great toy with an awesome wow factor. I highly recommend it.

It comes with a Helicopter, Gun Tower, 2 Controllers and an Extra “blade” (small propeller). It does not include the batteries and it requires 11 AA batteries so be sure to have those on hand.

Disney’s The Muppets Film Review~ Opens in Theaters Today!

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.

I would like to start out that I am a HUGE Muppets fan. I have seen all of the movies and watched the Muppet Babies cartoon when I was little. I know my Muppets. It has been several years since a decent Muppet movie has been made. I was excited to see if this film would be the Muppets’ comeback.

I was SO happy watching this movie. I had a big grin on my face the whole film. With its corny songs and typical Muppet humor, this film will please Muppet fans of all ages and hopefully the Muppets will gain a few more fans.

The human performances in this movie were great! Jason Segal (who also helped write the screenplay) is fabulous as Gary. You can tell that Segal has a true love for the Muppets. He is having the time of his life during this movie. You can tell. Amy Adams is also great as his girlfriend Mary. She is just as cute in this as she was in Enchanted. I have to say that I really enjoy Chris Cooper as the villain, Tex Richman. Cooper actually raps in this movie. It is awesome!

There were also so many celebrity cameos in this movie. I was excited to see what celebrity would show up in each scene. By far my favorite was the celebrity that showed up during the “Man or Muppet” song. I am going to be spoiler free but this song was awesome and by far my favorite moment in the film.

So to put it simply, go see the Muppets! You will be happy!

Brag Worthy Christmas ~ Moxie Girlz Horse Riding Club Horse Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

Both of my girls LOVE anything that involves horses! They are always begging for me to buy them every horse toy that they see in the store and unfortunately, I just can’t. A lot of times I just don’t want to spend so much money on a little toy that doesn’t even do anything….but the Moxie Girlz Horse Riding Club Horse is not that toy! This horse actually walks on it’s own!

We received Cricket, the palomino horse and she is darling. She stands about a foot tall so she is pretty good size and her mane is long & silky…perfect for hours of brushing and braiding if your girls are like mine Winking smile . Cricket walks with the push of a button and I am pretty impressed. Her walk is a bit choppy, and she sometimes falls over, but I still can’t think of another horse that my girls would like better. Cricket walks and this makes her the coolest horse ever! If you want a darker color of horse, you can get Bingo. She is brown in color and her hair is a bit darker than her body. They are both really cute and would be perfect for you horse-loving child for Christmas!

Cricket and Bingo each have a saddle that is meant to hold their Moxie Doll riders, but I think you could use several different dolls as long as they are the correct size. Of course, the Moxie Girlz are dressed in the perfect riding outfits so they are ready for action!

Happy Feet Two Film Review~ Opens Today in Theaters

Happy Feet Two returns audiences to the magnificent landscape of Antarctica in superb 3D. Mumble, The Master of Tap, has a problem because his tiny son, Erik, is choreo-phobic. Reluctant to dance, Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven-a penguin who can fly! Mumble has no hope of competing with this charismatic new role model. But things get worse when the world is shaken by powerful forces. Erik learns of his father’s “guts and grit” as Mumble brings together the penguin nations and all manner of fabulous creatures-from tiny Krill to giant Elephant Seals to put things right.

During the summer, I worked a lot at a movie theater. Whenever I started Harry Potter, I would see the trailer for Happy Feet Two. The music always made me happy (especially the cute baby penguins). I was excited to see Happy Feet Two.

My favorite part of Happy Feet Two were the musical numbers. Just like the previous movie, the music numbers are so fun to watch. With the great voice talent and the great penguin dancing, most of the numbers are true showstoppers. Plus, the baby penguins are SO cute!!

I was again impressed with the voice cast. I would say that my two favorite characters in this film were the two Krills named Will and Bill (voiced by Brad Pitt and Matt Damon). Some of the funniest and most memorable lines are said by these two characters. Hearing Brad Pitt singing “We Are the Champions” made me laugh.

If you are looking for a fun family movie this weekend, Happy Feet Two is a great choice!

Brag Worthy Christmas ~ Air Zone Quickfire Auto Fed Belt Blaster Review

I love Christmas shopping for boys. They have some really fun toys available so I was excited when I was introduced to the Air Zone Quickfire Auto Fed Belt Blaster.

Bug has a small dart gun which he enjoys playing with. Man you should have seen his eyes light up when this arrived at our front door to review. It was priceless. He of course said, I want to shoot it!!! It requires 6 AA batteries which are not included so make sure you have them on hand Christmas morning Once we got the batteries in we put the ammo belt in place and filled it with darts.

It has an on off switch on one of the sides which is easy for Bug to turn it on and off. I couldn’t believe how fast he could shoot the darts. It is so fun watching him and it is easily his new favorite toy. Another great feature is that the end of the gun can come off so it can be long or shorter. It’s perfect for Bug since he is smaller it makes it easier for him to hold. This toy is recommended for kids ages 6+.

My 4 year old Bug LOVES all things super hero. The Find It Games Starry Night Game is a low-key game that keeps my girls entertained for a good while. At first, I don’t think they were quite convinced that it was an actual game Winking smile …but after I explained to them how to play, they thought it was pretty cool. They sat down to find all the shapes right away and they loved it. The game is recommended for ages 8 and up, but even my four year old can play this game without any help. My favorite thing about this game is that it is all ‘contained’. No tiny little pieces to worry about and no play money to keep from getting ruined!! It is easily stored and I think it would make an excellent travel game!! You can even play it in the dark because the pieces that you search for GLOW!! How fun is that?

You can get Find It Games in several different versions and they are all equally as fun and entertaining! You & your family will stay busy trying to find all the little shapes among the colored pellets!!

You might be thinking “What do I do with this game after I have found all the pieces?” Well….there are a few different ways you can play this game to make it more interesting. Here are some suggestions (or come up with your own way to play!!):

“Speed Rounds: As a family game, or by yourself you can use a timer to increase challenge and see how many items you can find in 30 seconds or other amounts of time. When played as a party game with a group of people this mode is great fun!

Rewards: Assign each item a monetary amount (or use a point system) and see how many items you can find within 30 seconds. Penny is the hardest to find,so it could be 25 points and say 10 points for the top hat and 5 points for other items. This also is recommended as a family game or party game style of play.

Story Time: In “Story Time” game mode everyone can take turns telling a story tied to each item they find. At the end whoever remembers the most about someone’s story wins. It’s also a great way to use the Find It hidden object game and create good conversations.

Find the Letter: With your family or friends write down a letter and see how many items you can find that start with that letter.”

Best Birthday Cake Ever! Dippidee Batman Birthday Cake Review

Bug recently had a birthday party and for his theme he chose Super Heroes. His favorite super hero right now is Batman. So we went in to Dippidee to design his birthday cake. They have photo books you can look at for ideas and then we sat down with the Manager Heidi to design his cake. Bug was very excited to design his cake and choose Batman. We got to choose all the details down to the cake flavor and filling.

Heidi was great to work with and helped us design the perfect cake for Bug. The day of the party we went and picked up the cake and I was so impressed. It looked amazing! Bug was beyond thrilled. This is by far the best birthday cake he has ever had.

All the guests at his party were so impressed by the cake. But the best part was when we cut the cake and tasted it. It was DELICIOUS! Beyond delicious actually. Everyone loved it, just writing about it now makes me crave some more

Tori’s flight home is delayed leaving her no time to finish a school project with her friends. She attempts to get the work done with them over video chat but things keep getting in the way.
Freak the Freak Out
Tori and her friends are excited to try out Karaoke Dokie, a karaoke club that features weekly singing competitions. On competition night, Jade and Cat partner on a prize-worthy performance, but the club’s owner rigs the competition so his daughter and her obnoxious friend win. Tori and the gang have to figure out a way to expose the cheating girls and show everyone who can really sing.

After convincing Tori that Stephen is cheating on both of them, Carly and Tori come together to plot their revenge at the party. Amidst all the scheming, Rex challenges the partygoers to a lyrical rap battle.

I used to watch CatDog when I was a kid and I remember really liking it a lot. When we got it to review it was fun to watch it again (very nostalgic) and fun to introduce this show I liked so much to my little Bug. He instantly become a fan of the show as well. I love seeing these cartoons I watched as a child realeased on DVD.

The Mindflex Brainwave game is a huge hit with the kids. 12 year old C has had his eye on this game for a while now and was so excited when we got to review it. We couldn’t believe how cool it is and how it uses the power of your mind He had his friends over and they all had a ton of fun playing this game. It is a great gift idea for kids over 8. Even us adults have had fun playing it.

I like that the balls themselves don’t have anything electrical in them, which means they won’t get hot and they aren’t going to get broken easily. Perfect for little kids. You can select one color or have the colors rotate. This nightlight is perfect for middle of the night trips to the bathroom, to parents room etc…Bug grabs one and carries it with him when he comes in my room scared. It really comforts him and makes it so I don’t hear the screaming “Mommy, Mommy” in the middle of the night (I don’t miss that). He even has fun just playing with the nightlight. It is a nightlight and a cool toy in one. I highly recommend this nightlight

A Fun Way to Teach Kids Math and Science ~ The Jammin’ Classroom DVD’s Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

I remember when I was in elementary school I had a Geography teacher who would teach us songs to learn the places on the map that we needed to memorize. It was such a good method for learning and definitely did the trick. In fact I still remember a lot of the songs to this day. Learning through song is a really good way to help something stick in your memory. jammin

I have had a chance to review the math and science DVD’s and I am very impressed with them. The songs are very catchy and really good. They get a lot of important lessons in these songs. C has learned so much just from watching them. Even my 4 year old has been singing the songs. It is amazing to hear him singing about shapes he never knew before.
