I have very fond memories of Chuck A Rama. I remember coming to visit my Grandpa every summer from AZ and he always took us to Chuck A Rama because he loved it! I was able to visit the very 1st Chuck A Rama in Salt Lake City and meet with some of the wonderful people that work there. A group of bloggers took a tour and I was so impressed! What I didn’t know is that Chuck A Rama makes and bakes all of their own food in house everyday. If fact we were able to watch one of the food artists making rolls and yummy breads! I couldn’t believe how GOOD those rolls were! In fact that would be reason alone to visit Chuck A Rama! But the yumminess does not stop there…they have several hot food stations which included baked and fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy like grandma used to make, rolls, salad bar/fruit bar and dessert bar of course!
What I also loved about Chuck A Rama is the selection of drinks that they had! They sell both Pepsi and Coca Cola along with Apple Beer and even an Icee Machine! The Slogan of Chuck A Rama is the choice is yours and indeed it is.
The first store was built in 1966 in Salt Lake City, Utah and now There are 12 locations throughout Utah and Idaho and they will all be celebrating their 50th Anniversary of Chuck A Rama this Wed. Sept 7th and there will be giveaways and of course prizes! Have you ever wondered how they came up with the name Chuck A Rama? Well the founder loved the old western “Chuck Wagon’s” and they were always involved in the Scout A Rama’s that would take place so they put the 2 together, “Chuck A Rama!”
“Here are the details of what is going down on Wednesday, September 7th at Chuck-A-Rama!
– We are celebrating at every location the whole day!

I learned that The owners bought a building on 744 E 400 S that used to be a grocery store called The Produce Store. When the buffet opened on September 26 of 1966 (exactly 100 years after Goodnight invented the chuck wagon), the idea proved successful: so successful that the line of waiting customers did not end. Lunch was $1.00 and dinner was $1.50.
