Words cannot describe how much I hate potty training. HATE. I have a 2.5 and 3.5 year old. Neither of which are potty trained. Ugh. My 3 year old is just so resistant! I feel like I’ve tried everything. But the best thing to do is never give up, so we keep on trying. Now we’ve received the Summer Infant Story Time Potty, it’s become much less of a fight to get him to try. He LOVES this potty seat- he loves books and reading, so it’s the perfect way to encourage him. I love all the buttons that keep him engaged, and after awhile when hearing “Mommy!! I did it!” is such a wonderful feeling. Choosing the right potty seat can be overwhelming- there are so many out there. I really think the Summer Infant Story Time Potty is one of the best choices, because the top is removable and can be used on the adult toilet which is great for transitioning from potty seat to toilet. Just looking on their website it seemed to me that this was the perfect waterproof drool bib, so of course I had to get my hands on a couple to try out.

Right away I was impressed by the quality of the bibs.  They are very well made, and I can tell they will last beyond baby needing them.  And they are so soft and comfortable for baby to wear.  I LOVE how they have a waterproof liner.  If you have ever had a drooling baby then you know how frustrating it can be to keep them dry from the drool.  With the Wee Drool bib you know baby will stay dry.

It is super easy to put together & take apart (the 2 pieces).  I love that it not only protects the seat from spills but also from dirty shoes.  I just wish I would have had this earlier for Bug because I could have protected the seat of our car from a lot of already done damage.  But I am so happy that it will be protected from now on.

Ahhhh Spring is in the air, and I LOVE it!  Spring time makes me feel so happy.  I love seeing everything come back to life, flowers, trees, etc.. and hearing the birds sing again in the early morning hours.  After a long winter it is so nice to feel the warmth of the sun again.  With the Spring awakening outside comes an instinct inside me to make my Home fresh & clean as well.  Here are my tips for freshing up your home for spring":

• Out with the Clutter!  How my family accumilates so much clutter through the winter is beyond me.  Sometimes I wonder “Does anyone in this family throw anything out?” LOL.  I love going through my whole house and removing clutter.  It feels so good to make spaces crisp & clutter free & something about getting rid of things we no longer need or have a use for makes me feel good. 
• Have a Yard Sale.  With all the clutter & items you no longer need in a big pile in the garage, why not have a yard sale?  Make some dough from the items you are getting rid of…it is great to talk with your neighbors and put together a multi-family yard sale and advertise it in your local paper or online classifieds.  That way you will get a really great response and most likely sell it all.  Anything that doesn’t sell donate (DON’T be tempted to keep it if it doesn’t sell).
• Deep Clean.  Yep time to get down on your hands and knees and scrub those floor boards.  Clean the blinds.  All the deep cleaning that doesn’t happen year round.  It can be a lot of work but once I finish I feel so great, and it’s like I have a new home!
• Freshen Your Bathroom Routine. Sure the items may be free, but some individuals may use these forms to beguile and rob individuals. Exercise caution and make sure you understand the rules of every website you interact on.

I am glad that I have a little baby that loves to eat. She will eat whatever I feed her, even peas and green beans! But my toddler ( not so much a toddler anymore) is a grazer. It’s hard to get her to sit down and eat without running off to play, shocker I know!

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel follows a group of British retirees who decide to “outsource” their retirement to less expensive and seemingly exotic India. Enticed by advertisements for the newly restored Marigold Hotel and bolstered with visions of a life of leisure, they arrive to find the palace a shell of its former self. Though the new environment is less luxurious than imagined, they are forever transformed by their shared experiences, discovering that life and love can begin again when you let go of the past.

I remember the first time I saw this trailer.  I saw that it had Maggie Smith and Judi Dench in it.  I was immediately sold!  This movie has definitely brought out the ‘A list’ of British actors.

I was not at all disappointed by this movie.  I loved it.  The acting was fantastic but I expected this with the amazing cast in this film.  This movie tells the stories of several different older British people who all come together in India to move into ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.’  They soon learn that sometimes advertising can be deceiving because the hotel is not exactly exotic.  Throughout the movie, you learn more about each person and what they really want out of their lives. 

The scenery in this movie was beautiful.  The filmmakers really captured the beautiful landscapes and culture of India.  You really understood why the characters in this movie were drawn to the country.

Sometimes the plot of the movie seemed to move a bit slow but overall, I loved this film!  I thought it was fantastic and it is a great date movie.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel gets bragging rights!

Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet-or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets.

In my opinion, it was a great day when Tim Burton and Johnny Depp met.  I have loved all the collaborations they have done together.  If the movie has the names of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp attached, I am there opening day.  So, I was pretty excited to see Dark Shadows.

Dark Shadows is your typical Tim Burton movie.  It is wacky, crazy, and weird but I still love it.  Johnny Depp has also once again created a character that he will be remember for.  Although, he is not the person to originate the character of Barnabas Collins, Depp has made the character his own.

I would definitely label this movie as a ‘dark comedy.’  The movie definitely had some very funny moments.  Most of these come from the fact that this movie takes place during the 70′s era.  Some of my favorites involved jokes about a lava lamp, a troll doll, and Alice Cooper.  I also liked the songs from the 70′s that they used in the movie.

Alongside Depp, the movie had a great cast.  Michelle Pfeiffer was great as the mother of the current Collins family and Eva Green was great as the villain of the movie, Angelique.  She definitely had fun being bad.

I will say Tim Burton’s last couple of movies have been more family friendly but, Dark Shadows is definitely a mom and dad movie.  This movie does have some sexual content and some scary moments for kids.

Although it is not Tim Burton’s best film, I really enjoyed watching Dark Shadows.  If you like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp’s other movies together, make sure you go and see this one.
