What kid doesn’t like candy? If you’re taking the kids on vacation to Las Vegas, don’t miss Hershey’s Chocolate World, a Las Vegas retail experience like no other. Hershey’s Chocolate World offers all kinds of things for kids — and grown-ups — to see, eat, and otherwise enjoy, and it’s right on the Strip, close to other famous Las Vegas attractions.
Hershey’s Chocolate World Las Vegas opened in 2014 in the famous New York-New York Hotel & Casino located right on the Strip. The 18-foot-high Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup over the door makes this attraction hard to miss. Hershey’s Chocolate World is open from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily.
What to See
Hershey’s Chocolate World is free and open to the public, and once you get inside, there are a couple of sights you don’t want to miss. Get a family photo op with the chocolate Statute of Liberty on the first floor of Hershey’s Chocolate World. Chocolate Lady Liberty was carved from 800 pounds of Hershey’s milk chocolate; a wire frame helps her hold her shape.
You should also get some selfies with the chocolate Empire State Building, which can be found on the second floor. This marvel of modern chocolate engineering is made from 1,800 Hershey’s chocolate bars, with a single Twizzler for an antenna.
What to Eat
Of course, if you’re going to visit a candy store, you have to be prepared to eat some candy, right? Luckily, this Las Vegas candy store offers a wide range of treats that can’t be found anywhere else. The 13,000-square-foot store offers 800 different kinds of Hershey’s candies, including chocolate bars, bottles of strawberry syrup, Ice Breakers, Jolly Ranchers, Reese’s peanut butter cups, and Twizzlers. You’ll find numerous treats not available in most stores, as well as seasonal specialties.
Downstairs, you’ll find an entire wall of Hershey’s Kiss candies displayed in colorful dispensers, while upstairs, you’ll find a whole wall of Jolly Ranchers. Some other candy treats available here include a five-pound, jumbo Hershey’s chocolate bar, candy bars with customizable wrappers, and customizable Reese’s chocolates. TripAdvisor reviewers also recommend the chocolate-covered strawberries.
But that’s not all. Don’t miss the first-floor Bake Shoppe, where you can purchase delicious treats, such as the Reese’s Supreme Brownie Sandwich. This treat sandwiches peanut butter-flavored buttercream filling between two peanut-butter-fudge brownies, and covers them with Reese’s chunks and even more chocolate. Stop by the Shake Shoppe, where you can order a delicious Hershey’s milkshake or a vanilla soft-serve Razzle with one of several Hershey’s candy mix-ins.
What to Buy
If you’re trying to watch your waistline, you don’t have to leave Hershey’s Chocolate World empty-handed; this attraction also features a large gift shop where you can buy many Hershey’s-inspired gifts and souvenirs. Some popular options include Hershey’s clothing for babies, children, and adults; plush toys; Christmas ornaments; and even bath and body products. You can also bring back chocolate gift packages, including tins and mugs. If you want to stock up on your favorite products, you can even buy 25-lb cases of popular Hershey’s chocolate candies, such as Hershey’s kisses, Hershey’s miniatures, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Another thing to make sure you don’t miss out on while there is the Hershey’s Wrap Happiness attraction. You can have photographs taken in their custom studio as well as have your own custom Hershey’s chocolate bar wrappers created. You can create your own wrapper with a photo you take there and have uploaded, or one you bring from home.
For the young and the young-at-heart alike, Hershey’s Chocolate World is a fun must-see destination in Las Vegas. This massive candy store offers patrons hundreds of delectable delights, and a wonderfully whimsical experience to boot.
