There has never been a better time to enjoy a vacation in Nassau, especially if you’re a fan of water sports. So, once you’ve chosen from the list of Nassau vacation rentals and decided where you’re going to stay, you need to get ready to enjoy a great time on, and occasionally in the water.
Flying Over the Water
Yes, you read that right! One of the first things you need to try your hand at is flying over the water whilst using a water jetpack. Located in Cable Beach, Goodman’s Bay, you too can feel what it’s like to hover, and perhaps fly a little over the water. The experience is truly something else, and you really will have the opportunity to partake in something truly exhilarating.
The very friendly instructors ensure that you know exactly how to operate the jetpack so you can use it with ease, both in the water and above it. If you a looking for a memorable vacation, it’s worth having at least one water jetpack session while you’re in Nassau.
Fly over some of the Caribbean’s most beautiful waters, and soar at a height of 400 feet. Make your way over Paradise Island, Nassau Harbour and the beautiful blue sea. If you’re a bit of a daredevil, and you would like to experience something exciting, you need to book a session with Adventure Parasail Watersports. You will be picked up at Baha Mar dock, and you’ll be given the chance to spend around eight minutes in the air after you’ve been given a few hints and tips.
Enjoy the stunning views as you fly through the sky, dip your toes in the water before you’re brought back up again, and find yourself soaring above the beautiful sea that seems to change colour now and again.
If you would prefer to spend your time in the water you may want to think about going on a 3-hour SNUBA tour. Dive a little deeper into the ocean than you would if you were snorkeling, and see the incredible Caribbean coral reefs up close. See the diverse eco-system for yourself, and swim with tropical fish.
One of the great things about this activity is that allows you a sense of freedom. A supply of air reaches you via a hose that’s attached to a raft that floats on the surface of the water. This allows you to descend up to 15 feet, while you’re accompanied by a guide along the way.
You don’t have to be an experienced diver to SNUBA, but you will be shown how to use all of the necessary equipment so that you can make the most of your adventure.
If you’re feeling brave, you may want to try your hand at a spot of shark diving. This is an experience that you will never forget, especially as you will come up close and personal to Caribbean reef sharks that call these waters their home. Once you’ve been picked up from your downtown hotel, you will be taken to Stuart’s Cove, whereupon you will have the chance to jump into the blue waters and watch as the local shark population is fed by one of the guides.
Feel a shark push past you as they attempt to reach the food that’s attached to a pole spear. Although you may not feel entirely comfortable being around sharks, they will be too busy eating to bother you.
As the sharks eat, you and an expert guide will be knelt on the ocean floor, allowing you to see the sharks from a whole new perspective that you’ll never forget.
Please note that you will need to have a diver certificate in order to partake in this activity. You will also need to show the certificate to the guides so they know you’re safe to swim in the waters.
Jet Ski Adventure
Head to Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island, and jump on a jet ski. If you want to speed across the water with ease and feel the wind in your hair, you need to hire a jet ski. Rent a jet ski between 9 am, and 4:30 pm, and head out onto the crystal clear waters with a guide, or with a partner.
Everyone is asked to attend a brief safety lesson, courtesy of a guide, but once the lesson is over you’ll be good to go. You’ll have a whole hour to explore the waters off Nassau, and to take pictures using a waterproof camera that you’ve bought on vacation with you. You don’t have to be a whiz on the water to enjoy using a jet ski, you can be a first-timer who wants to see what all the fuss is about! So book your session, and get ready to enjoy yourself!
Nassau is the ideal vacation destination if you’re a lover of water sports. Why not make the most of your time away, and book a SNUBA adventure? Fly over the water using a jetpack, and then swim with hungry sharks if you dare! Don’t forget to book a jet ski adventure, and then try your hand at a spot of parasailing. If you have the guts and the determination to enjoy yourself whilst messing about on the water, you need to spend at least one week in beautiful Nassau.
