I remember Christmas morning as a little girl when we got our first Nintendo. We were so excited! We had a blast playing it as kids and in my mind no other system or games can compare. Ahhhh Nostalgia…So when I saw the Retro Duo NES/SNES Game System from Think Geek I knew I had to have it. I had a few old NES games stored in my garage, I know crazy right?! and I also order a few more on eBay. We have had a blast playing the old NES and SNES games on this system. Super Mario 3, Dr. Mario, Monopoly, Tetris, Paper Boy, just to name a few of my favorites. So fun. retro_duo_nes_snes_game_system

Even my 4 year old is enjoying the games. I think it’s quite funny actually, give my 4 year old a Galaxy Tablet and he has no problem, needs no instruction. Give him the Retro Duo system & an NES game and he is like “How do I do this?” LOL We are raising a complex generation. It’s too funny!

I highly recommend this game system to send you back to the 80’s & 90’s with some simple and entertaining game play. I like that it is a small console so it doesn’t take up much space. It is also really nice being able to play both Nintendo & Super Nintendo games on one system.

We love playing games at our house and try to play as a family as much as we can. So we get excited about new Hasbro game releases. The most recent we got to test out is the new Simon Flash Game. It has cubes (similar to Scrabble Flash) that you line up to play 4 different versions of the Simon game. I’m a big Simon fan and have loved playing it since I was a kid. So it has been a real blast playing 4 different versions of the game. I love that it comes with a case to hold the tiles. It is perfect for to use during the Simon classic game since it keeps all the tiles lined up and you can travel with it. It’s fun that you can play alone or with people. This is a great family game and the perfect last minute Christmas gift idea!

My kids love Spongebob and this game really delivers. I love how colorful it is, nice and bright which really makes it fun even to watch the kids play. The kids love that they can choose to be Spongebob or Gary. The kids also love that they can choose to skate or surf. They are having a lot of fun learning how to do cool tricks. It is great that their is a 2 player split screen option so both boys can play at the same time. I think the best part of this game is that there is no controller. You (or your kids) are the controller. Such fun!

It is rated E for everyone so it really is the perfect game for the whole family to enjoy!

I have to say that I’m a little jealous of my kids! I’ve been wanting an iPad for a while now, but it just hasn’t been in the budget. I love the VTech InnoTab Interactive Learning App Tablet for kids. It is such a great way to get kids engaged and learning! I love that it’s not just a gaming system- it’s an educational toy, packed with all kids of learning apps, educational games, creative activities, and my favorite, E-books! What a great way to encourage your kids to read. They will feel like a grownup, and love being able to play their own way. My boys are actually going to get this for Christmas, so they haven’t had the pleasure of playing with it. I pulled it out of the box, though, and explored a little bit. It was a nice thing, because I was able to get the Cars2 software I bought for it on it, so it will be ready to go when they open it Christmas morning. It was easy to navigate, and I don’t think the boys will have a problem at all. I think they are going to really love the Coloring Book app- they can color till their hearts content, then start over again! The only complaint that I have, is that it takes 4AA batteries. I wish it was a rechargeable battery. But you can put in your own rechargeable batteries! Other than that, this tablet is fantastic. I think it will be great for road trips and plane trips- I know it will keep the boys entertained for hours! Thanks, VTech!

Brag Worthy Christmas ~ Continuum Games: Lumps & Family Talk 2 Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

I love to play games. Playing family games are some of the fondest memories I have with my family. I was very excited to receive The Lumps and Family Talk 2 games from Continuum Games to review.

The first thing I noticed about The Lumps game was how cute the packaging is. Lumps is referring to lumps of coal. The games comes in a little sock and the dice are black to represent coal. The Lumps game reminds me a bit of Farkle but more complicated. Instead of collecting 1′s and 5′s, you are collecting pairs. It actually took me a couple of times reading the instructions to totally understand it all. It is a really fun game that helps you with your math skills. If you want a game to play with your kids, this game is perfect as well. In the instructions, there is a version for “Lumps Junior” with easier rules for younger kids. I still think that this game may be hard for some younger kids but you can use this game to help them develop addition skills.

I really like the Family Talk 2 game. It is a great way to get the family talking. Some of the questions are very simple when others are really deep, thought provoking questions that can start great conversations between parents and their kids. This would be a great game to play at a family Holiday party.

Both The Lumps and Family Talk 2 games are great ideas for the Holiday. They are great ways to get the family interacting and having fun together. Family is such an important thing during the Holidays. Continuum Games also has so many other family games to buy!

Want Some Fun Online Entertainment? Online Bingo is a Great Choice

When I was a kid I remember playing bingo in elementary school. I always thought it was so fun. When we got bingo we got a piece of candy and that was the best. Candy is everything when your a kid But bingo only becomes more fun as an adult, I think. I enjoy playing bingo in casinos when we are away on vacation. It is quite fun but you don’t have to be away or at a casino to enjoy bingo. You can find a great online bingo site and spend hours and hours playing and having a great time. I recently started playing online bingo and it has been really fun.

If you have never played bingo online there are a lot of great sites like Wikipedia that can teach you all about it. I have been been playing online during my down time, usually nap time or bedtime for the kiddos. I find that when the kiddos are asleep or occupied I enjoy my time playing much more. Mostly because I am not getting the constant interruptions that kids surely bring The interuptions can ruin the whole experience so I recommend doing it during a quiet time. When I play online bingo I find it relaxing and very enjoyable. It is really fun playing and it is so nice to spend some “me time” enjoying a game that I love.

If you are looking for a fun game to play online I recommend bingo. If you haven’t played before you are in for a treat. If you have then you already know it can be so fun. I love how fun and colorful this game is! I opened it and checked it out and I know my daughter will love it! She is just shy of the 4-7yr old game category BUT I know she will love naming the different pizza toppings and counting out the pieces.

We love to play games as a family, especially during the holidays. Monopoly is played often and very competitively in our family. Up until now we have been playing the original version. So it was exciting to get the Monopoly Electronic Banking game. I think it is super cool that all the money is on credit cards. Yep each player has one and then you have a little machine that the banker uses to debit and credit amounts on it. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the little machine is to use and it really make playing easier since you don’t have a bunch of money to pass around. It does require 2 AAA batteries (not included) so be sure to have those on hand. This is a great modern spin on a classic game, I highly recommend it as a family gift this holiday season.

The Find It Games Starry Night Game is a low-key game that keeps my girls entertained for a good while. At first, I don’t think they were quite convinced that it was an actual game Winking smile …but after I explained to them how to play, they thought it was pretty cool. They sat down to find all the shapes right away and they loved it. The game is recommended for ages 8 and up, but even my four year old can play this game without any help. My favorite thing about this game is that it is all ‘contained’. No tiny little pieces to worry about and no play money to keep from getting ruined!! It is easily stored and I think it would make an excellent travel game!! You can even play it in the dark because the pieces that you search for GLOW!! How fun is that?

You can get Find It Games in several different versions and they are all equally as fun and entertaining! You & your family will stay busy trying to find all the little shapes among the colored pellets!!

You might be thinking “What do I do with this game after I have found all the pieces?” Well….there are a few different ways you can play this game to make it more interesting. Here are some suggestions (or come up with your own way to play!!):

Over Under Game Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

I love playing games! However, we mostly only have kid games and they aren’t much fun for us adults. We get together with a group of friends about every month, and I was really excited to review the Over-Under Game from Bella Spencer Games so we can share it with our friends the next time we all hang out!

“Over Under is a game of gambling, risk, and reward. There are hundreds of “Over/Under” questions ranging from music to food to just about anything. The purpose of Over Under is simple: get from start to finish before anyone else. However, to get from start to finish, you will need to employ strategy based on your knowledge of the questions at hand. You can wager spaces and, if you answer the question correctly, move forward the wagered spaces. However, if you answer the question incorrectly, you will be docked the wagered spaces. Over Under is an outrageous game of wacky facts bound to bring laughter to whomever plays it.”

So how do you play? It really is super simple. Each team rolls the die on their turn. They move their colored piece according to the number they roll (it can be a forward or backward). If the die comes up on a color, the team must draw a card from the corresponding colored deck and pose the OVER/UNDER question to the group. The group will listen to the question and attempt to determine if the true answer is “over” the line or “under” the line. Some of the questions are interesting, some are weird, and some are downright hilarious! There are also a few ‘special spaces’ on the board that have the players doing different things including taking a sip of the drink next to them Winking smile . Haha. This is definitely a fun game for a big group!! Just a heads up though, the game says it is suitable for ages 12+ but some of the questions may not be appropriate for children that young. It is a game intended for adults so I would be careful when allowing younger teens to play it.

If you choose the wrong item then you have to put the card back on the bottom of the pile and your turn is over. Whoever has the most cards at the end wins, or you can set an amount for example: “First player to get 5 cards wins!”. Bug really enjoys this game and it is great for him to learn how to use his sense of touch to figure out which item is which.

This game really challenges my 4 year old and I love seeing how well he does and how much he has learned from playing.

My nephews were super excited to learn that they would be getting Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D video game for Nintendo 3DS! They could hardly wait for it to arrive. Once it came, they immediately started playing of course.

“Over 150 million years ago in a world dominated by dinosaurs, natural disasters were changing earth and causing chaos. In the fight to become the top predator, only the most powerful dinosaurs could survive and had to battle the Arkosaurus, the most ferocious dinosaur species in the Jurassic world.”

Right off the boys loved the 3D. It is a single player game so they took turns playing. They love the idea of having to battle other dinosaurs until you finally battle Arkosaurus to become the top predator. They really like the fact that they could choose their Dino and customize it to make it their own. They enjoyed figuring out their Dinosaur and mastering the fighting against the other Dinosaurs. In between fights you can crush rocks and trees and get special rewards and they liked that they were able to walk around and find the dinosaurs to battle.

My nephews (ages 9 & 11) love this game and found it very easy to learn and play it. I highly recommend it as a gift to boys who love Dinosaurs and battles!

A Great Way For Kids to Safely Play on the Computer ~ Fooz Kids Review

Thank you to Fooz Kids for providing me with an All-In-One pack to review. The opinions I’ve expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I was asked to review Fooz Kids. I didn’t expect for Bug and I to love it as much as we do Happy surprise!

So I set up an account and Bug and I sat down to play. When I set up the account it asked me Bug’s info such as gender and age, so it could choose games and videos that would appeal to him.

Bug is almost 4 years old and he has just reached the point where I can let him play on the computer and he can actually use the mouse unassisted, etc… So we have been trying out Fooz Kids and both of us love it so far.

Bug loves that it has so many games and videos to choose from. All of which are his favorite shows and characters. The games are targeted for his age so he can easily play them by himself without needing assistance from me.

I love Fooz Kids because once you open the Fooz Kids Application on your computer your child cannot exit out without having you enter your password. Which means you will know what they are playing and watching while they are on the computer, even if you aren’t in the room with them.

Another great feature is that it has a parental dashboard. You can go in and personalize what games and videos show up for your child. This is also great if you want to challenge them a little more by adding older age games. You can also monitor their internet activity and block content as you wish.

Another fun thing is the Fooz Mail that your older kids can use to email friends and family safely.

Both Bug and I love Fooz Kids and I really recommend it for safe computer play!

Cool New Collectible for Boys ~ Our DaGeDar in Home Party

DaGeDar is the next Big Thing in toys for kids! We were so thrilled to be chosen to host a DaGeDar in home party for the boys. DaGeDar are collectible ball bearings with fun designs on each. Your kids can collect them and use the tracks and launchers to play. dagedar-logo_thumb

We were sent the Two Lane Battle Jump Raceway along with a launcher, flip action carrying case, and a whole bunch of DaGeDar Balls. The boys were super excited as we got each out of it’s package. They quickly decided which were their favorites (based on all the really cool designs). They built the track and started racing their DaGeDar’s against each other. The design of this raceway is fun because they can hold the ramp at different angles and get different results.

My 3 year old even loves them and it’s really cute cause he calls them “scary balls”. I think he calls them that cause some of them have scary faces It’s really funny to hear him talk about them. But just like the older boys he is smitten with DaGeDar.

They had a blast playing with them and their friends were excited to be able to take some DaGeDar’s home with them. They were all saying how they couldn’t wait to get more DaGeDar’s and a track of their own.

Another really fun thing about these DaGeDar is that each one has a number on the back that your child can enter into the DaGeDar website and register.

Based on how much the boys loved all the DaGeDar items we were sent, I can say that DaGeDar is definitely going to be the must have toys for boys this year!

DaGeDar is a huge hit with the boys at our house!
