April is upon us, and there’s going to be so much to do. First there’s Easter, which everybody loves because it’s a short break, and a great time for families to bond and reconnect. Easter in 2019 is going to be from the 19th to the 21st of April, so you can make it a major family experience without being stressed about a 2-week holiday period like Christmas. But April is also going to be huge from an entertainment standpoint, and that means family movie night or TV night. I love being able to do something fun with my family as much as possible, and I know a lot of moms are the same. So if you’re trying to come up with a list of activities for the upcoming month, here are some ideas.
Avengers and Game of Thrones
In terms of entertainment, April promises to be a packed month, and this is great for you and the kids. What’s probably the biggest entertainment event is the release of Avengers Endgame, the last movie in the Infinity series. It’s going to be the most epic Marvel movie to date, as we get to learn the fate of the Universe after the Thanos snap. The movie is getting released on the 24th of April so that’s something to look forward to. April is also the start of the final season of Game of Thrones, so if you have older kids, this could be really great entertainment for them. You can make it a whole event on your big screen TV so you can watch the fate of Westeros in the best setting possible. You can watch the magic of GOT from the comfort of your home, or you can go to the cinema to really make it an amazing experience.
An RV Road Trip
One of the best ways to spend time together as a family is hiring an RV and going away, exploring the roads and destinations around your city, stopping when you want to enjoy the views. You and your family could do this very easily without spending a lot of money. Make it even better by trying to make it as device free as possible so you can really have conversations without distractions. If you choose this type of adventure, make sure you have things like insurance and warranties sorted out so that everything is above board. You can check out Good Sam extended service plans for options.
Games Night
Everyone loves a good old games night, a chance to be competitive, have a laugh and just unwind. What’s great about a games night is you can play pretty much whatever games you want. You can play 30 Seconds, a Game of Thrones themed Monopoly, and quizzes- the list is endless. You can even invite other families and make it a proper competition, and even get t-shirts made for each team. It will be fun and unforgettable.
A Big Easter Lunch and Adventure
Easter is one of the most family-focused holidays there is, and you can take advantage of this and throw a memorable Easter lunch with fun for the whole family. You can invite extended family and close friends, and all of you can bring food for everyone to share. It’s actually easy to come up with a great menu and food ideas without a whole lot of stress. Kids can be kept entertained with an Easter egg hunt, while grown ups catch, have a laugh and just enjoy spending time together. Life is so busy and we get caught up in the hustle and bustle that we forgot how amazing it is to have people who love and support us. We need to celebrate that and Easter is the perfect time for it.
Anytime you get some time off, it’s so crucial to spend some of it with our families. This coming month has so many great opportunities for that, and you and the family should take advantage. When you have young kids, you create great memories for them, and when you have older kids, it’s a chance to reconnect and shift from them doing their own thing. You don’t even have to do something major to make it special. All it takes is you and the kids and something you can all gather around and enjoy. Make sure whatever you do is something everyone in your household can enjoy or at least compromise on. It could be something your kids talk about for years to come.
