4 Ways to Entertain Kids at a Birthday Party

Don’t you wish we could stop our children from getting older?

It seems like the older they get, the faster time flies. One of the best ways to make kids feel special and celebrate another year, is by hosting a birthday party. However, this often puts a lot of pressure on parents. After all, we must think about the theme, cake, entertainment, and who’s invited.

To help with the planning process, here are 4 ways to keep kids entertained at your childs birthday party.

1. Bouncy Houses & Water Slides

Bouncy houses and water slides are the ultimate way to entertain children (and adults). Not only is participating fun, but watching guests go down water slides or grown adults jump in the bouncy house is entertaining as well.

If you’re celebrating your child during a cooler month, a bouncy house will keep children entertained and warm. Now, if the birthday party is during the summer, you’ll have the luxury of providing a water slide. Adults will even want to get in on the fun!

Finding the right provider is easy, whether you’re looking for a water slide rental Long Island or a bouncy house in Las Vegas. Both options come in different sizes, designs, and budgets. And either option will offer a unique experience.

2. Plan a Few Games

Games are a sure-fire way to engage children. The best part? They don’t require extensive planning and are budget friendly. Stick to classics like Musical Chairs and Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Children already know how to play these and if they don’t, they’re super easy and fun to learn.

You can also consider a scavenger hunt or a game of Duck, Duck, Goose. These are all classics that can’t go wrong at a birthday party. Game ideas are limitless – go with those that are easy to set up and learn.

3. Performers

Performers are an easy way to grab a crowd’s attention and keep everyone in one place. Whether it be a clown, snake keeper, or magician, these performances take the weight off your shoulders by keeping the children entertained.

If your child has a favorite Disney character or Marvel superhero, you could even bring in an impersonator. Perhaps you have a close relative or friend with an acting talent. If this is the case, consider hiring them at the fraction of the cost you would hire a professional impersonator.

4. Decorations

Decorations instantly bring a party to life. It’s not everyday you’ll walk into a room filled with Frozen decor or walk outside to a fun-filled backyard. You don’t have to spend an arm and a leg when finding decoration. Consider reusing old ones from last year, go to your local Dollar Store, or make your own!

It’s as easy as hanging up a backdrop, blowing up some balloons, and finding matching table cloths for the tables. Themes are also a great way to involve literature in your child’s party. Having famous stories or characters involved with your party theme allows your child to experience and connect with the narratives they are exposed to.

Have Fun With the Planning Process!

These are 4 sure-fire ways to entertain your child and guests at a birthday party. You don’t even have to use every single one of them. But, if they’re free like the games or having a close relative be an impersonator, why wouldn’t you use them?

Best of luck to you as you plan a legendary birthday party for your child. And, most importantly, we hope you have a blast during the planning process.
