Design of the Velorim 10” Tablet

Let’s start by looking at the design of the Velorim 10” Android Tablet. The front is a very standard-looking tablet screen, with a selfie camera in the middle, and a bezel that’s just over 1 cm on each side of the screen. On top is the charging port (USB-C), microSD card slot for expandable storage, and the power and volume control buttons. On one side there’s a headphone jack (we’re glad to see this!) and on the other side there are two speakers. Moving on to the back, the design is simple and clean, with just a small box in the corner for the camera (rear facing) and what looks like some kind of sensor – it says “super vision” next to it, but we couldn’t figure out what it was for. The back of the device is a metallic-looking plastic, but not aluminum like some high-end tablets. The placement of the buttons and ports is pretty standard, but we would have liked if the charging port was on the bottom instead of the top. Ultimately, though, this comes down to personal preference and how you use the device.

Velorim 10” Tablet Startup and Touchscreen Test

Turning on the 10” tablet, there’s a startup animation, then after a moment, the lock screen appears. Startup time was quick at 23 seconds, which was better than we expected. We measured the visible screen size at exactly 10”, matching what was advertised. The Velorim tablet screen is clear and sharp when held at arm’s length, however if hold it close to your face, you can see the pixilation. Honestly, you shouldn’t hold your device that close to your face anyways – it’s terrible for your eyes. The tablet comes with the full suite of Google apps pre-installed, including the Google assistant, which can be used to control the tablet using your voice. Touchscreen responsiveness is decent, and in our test, the screen was able to successfully recognize up to 5 multi-touch points at once.

Specifications and Performance of the Velorim 10” Tablet

The specs on the Velorim 10” Tablet put it within the normal range of a budget Android tablet. The 2GB of RAM isn’t going to win any awards for speed, but coupled with the 1.6 GHz processor, it is capable for basic functions such as browsing the web, watching videos, or playing games that aren’t too graphics-intensive. The 5MP rear-facing camera gets the job done for taking pictures in everyday life, but don’t expect too much from the 2MP selfie camera. The Velorim tablet uses Android 10.0 Go Edition, which is faster and more secure than the previous version. According to Google, app switching became more efficient on this version, and apps launch 10% faster as a result. Within the budget tablet category, the Velorim 10” Android tablet is on par with other devices, and could be a good choice for those who don’t use processor-heavy applications.

Velorim 10” Tablet – Battery Life

Finally, we tested the battery life for continuous video playback (streaming), and we clocked over 10 hours of playback at 50% brightness on a full charge. For reference, this is enough to watch all three Lord of the Rings Movies back to back and have time to spare, so it should be plenty for road trips or a long-haul flight.

Should you buy it?

At its current deal price on Amazon of $88, the Velorim 10” Android tablet should be on your list as you shop for a new budget tablet. There’s nothing revolutionary about this device, but for those who don’t demand (or have the money for) the latest and greatest, this tablet performs well within the entry-level category.
