I happen to love cereal for dinner, breakfast, snack, and to bake with too. I was never a huge fan of Chex, but I was starting to come around with the new flavors they have come out with. So when I was asked to review the New Vanilla Chex I was delighted to accept. I love vanilla and I was looking forward to try out the way they integrated the flavor into their cereal. They sent me 2 boxes for me and my family to try. The first box we opened was finished within 24 hours. Between my husband and my children I did not even get to try one square out of that box before it was long gone. My son said it tasted like a cake in a bowl. I declared the second box to be mine and no one was allowed to steal it! We all know that I was bluffing and if they had asked, mommy would have been more than willing to let them have some.
One of the neat things about the New Vanilla Chex is that it is Gluten Free. There are a lot of people out there suffering from a type of allergy to gluten called celiacs disease. They cannot eat things like breads, pastas, and even cereals. So having the cereal be Gluten free is really nice. So the second day I finally got to sit down with a bowl of my own. When my son said it tasted like it was a slice of cake in a bowl, he was not joking. It tasted like some angel food cake. It was definitely not too sweet that you are left with that icky taste in your mouth but just sweet enough to make you crave more. I really loved it and my family absolutely loved it.
