I grew up with my own mother reading Angelina Ballerina books to me at bedtime. I remember closing my eyes and picturing the words in the book take form in my own little cartoon dream. Now that it has been made into a cartoon on television I am happy to be able to share my own memories with my daughter as she makes her own Angelina Ballerina memories. When I was asked to review Angelina Ballerina On with the Show DVD I was really excited to say yes. When the DVD arrived I almost cried to see how her face lit up when she held it in her hands. I guess watching her enjoy some of the same things I enjoyed is like my own little time machine!
Angelina Ballerina On With The Show the DVD was just released on January 21, 2014 on DVD, Digital HD, and Video on Demand. Juliana who is only 2 told my husband that she was sent the Angelina Ballerina On With The Show DVD because she was being a really good girl! It melted his heart completely he said. Since we have 3 boys and Juliana is our only daughter (so far) there were not enough votes for us to be able to watch the DVD during our family movie night. So we got to have a girls day together during the most recent snow storm that snowed us in. While the boys were out shoveling, the girls were inside painting our nails and watching Angelina Ballerina On With The Show!
We had a blast watching the Angelina Ballerina together! Juliana found the episode where Ms. Mimi loses her voice and has to be creative in order to communicate with the class hilarious! Its the first episode on the DVD and for a while I thought she would never watch any of the other Episodes that were included. That was when I saw this look on her face that made me remember how much I enjoyed Angelina Ballerina as a child and got me a little choked up. When we finally got through almost all of the Episodes included on the DVD, we watched the final episode which was about Father’s Day. Angelina and Polly decide to surprise their father with a very special performance. As soon as it ended Juliana was out the door looking for her daddy. She wanted to show him a special dance that she learned from Angelina Ballerina! It was so sweet! I love that Angelina Ballerina is one of the few shows on TV that will teach your child about honesty, loyalty, true friendships and not to be afraid to take chances about creativity or life in general. Angelina Ballerina On With The Show is definitely a DVD that I truly enjoyed watching with my daughter and she was definitely not complaining about staying inside with mommy while we were watching it.
