I have always been a fan of Diaper Genie systems. I have used them with both of my babies and love that they make disposing of stinky diapers so easy and keep the bad smells in the pail.
I was sent the Diaper Genie Elite with Carbon Filter. “The Ultimate Odor Lock system features a 7-layer refill bag, double clamp and anti-microbial pail, now with activated carbon filter to absorb and lock in strong diaper odors.”
I love this Diaper Pail and it really does lock in odors so well! My favorite feature is that it opens with a press of your foot and you toss the diaper in. I really like that I don’t have to press the diaper in with my hand. So much less gross than other pails I have used.
Since I am now enjoying my new diaper pail, I am wondering, how do other brands of refills compare to the Diaper Genie refills? Brands like Nursery Fresh say on the package “Compare to Diaper Genie Refills”. But how do they TRULY compare?
I placed both in my Diaper Genie Elite pail and there is a big difference!
The nursery fresh refill doesn’t really even fit in the pail. It is really hard to push down, and even then doesn’t completely sit where it should. But the biggest problem I had with it, is that the lid doesn’t even close when the nursery fresh refill is in. That is not good since the lid needs to be closed to keep those nasty odors out.
Here you can see the nursery fresh refill (above) and the Diaper Genie refill (below) and how the lids look closed with each inside. The Diaper Genie refill fits perfectly, is very easy to place, and most importantly the lid closes tight.
When you look at the 2 refill packs side by side, you can see that the nursery fresh refill is just flat on top, and the Diaper Genie refill is shaped to create a seal once the lid is closed.
