It is a new school year and we are working hard on letters in my classroom.  I was very excited to receive the Magnetic Letter Construction from Learning Resources for review.

My students had so much fun using the Magnetic Letter Construction set.  They loved being ‘letter builders.’  There are a lot of things that I like about this set.  It has a variety of different shapes and pieces to make the letters.  My students had to use problem solving skills to figure out how to build each individual letter.  I also liked that the pieces were a little bit smaller to help them work on important small motor skills.

The pieces are also magnetic on the back.  They would be perfect to use on the refridgerator at home to practice building the letters.  The set does come with a ‘cheat sheet’ to show you what pieces to use to build the letters if you need help.  Do be careful with the pieces.  The pieces are small so I would make sure to keep them away from your smaller ones at home so they do not end up in someone’ s mouth.

I am so excited to use the Magnetic Letter Construction throughout the whole school year.  Right now, we are building letters but it will be great for building words later in the school year.  I love that my students are having fun learning their letters!
