Every year I look forward to summer. There is so much I love about summer. The family time, I love having us all together without busy school schedules. The sun, the pool, swimming, water parks, the smell of sunscreen, park play time, vacations…it is just such a fun time of year! I have found there are many ways to make the summer even more fun and less chaotic for myself.
5 Ways to Get Summer Ready:
1- Make plans: I like to schedule at least 3 really fun things to do over summer break. Whether it be go on a vacation, visit an amusement park. If money is tight you can do fun things like go camping, hiking, etc… It is great to get those down on the family calender that way the summer doesn’t end with you thinking ‘oops we didn’t do that and I really wanted to’.
2- Stock up on Sun Screen: The only thing worse than a sunburn is your child with a sunburn. I like to make sure that I have a good supply of sunscreen because we use a lot of it in the summer. I like to make sure I always have it in my bag whenever we go out in case we decide to stop somewhere and play outside. The sunscreen sticks are a must and make it super easy to apply sunscreen to my kids quickly and without any mess.
3- Be Spontaneous: While having plans is great, being spontaneous can be so much fun. Do some fun family activities on the fly. Just live in the moment and enjoy it. Think picnic at the park, a nice Sunday drive, go to the neighborhood pool, etc…
4- Get Season Passes: Often you can get a much better deal on your family’s favorite places to visit when you get season passes, this is especially true if you have a big family and can get a family pass.
5- Make sure your feet look great: Summertime is a time for flip flops and sandals, so you will want to have your feet looking gorgeous. Make sure your toe nails are painted and your feet are smooth. Speaking of smooth feet…
