MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS Film Review~ See It Now In Theaters!! #OrientExpressMovie

I attended an advanced screening of this film.  All opinions are my own.

“What starts out as a lavish train ride through Europe quickly unfolds into one of the most stylish, suspenseful and thrilling mysteries ever told. From the novel by best-selling author Agatha Christie, “MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS” tells the tale of thirteen strangers stranded on a train, where everyone’s a suspect. One man must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again. Kenneth Branagh directs and leads an all-star cast including Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley and Josh Gad.”-©20th Century Fox

I love mystery movies and I have been so excited to see MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS.  My sister and I both really liked this movie.

I thought that Kenneth Branagh was excellent as Hercule Poirot.  I felt like he made the iconic detective his own.  The rest of the cast was excellent.  This movie was definitely an ensemble piece.

I loved the storyline of the film.  I thought that it was very fast paced and to the point.  I normally can figure out plot twists but I was pretty surprised by the ending of this movie.  I have not read the book that this movie is based on.  I wanted to go in completely not knowing much about the story so I would not know who the murderer was.  I am excited to read the book now and see how it compares.

MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS is rating PG-13 “for violence and thematic elements.”  I felt like this movie is a more ‘mellow’ PG-13 in terms of violence.  I think that this is a great movie for teenagers and adults.  The storyline will probably be hard for younger children to follow.

I loved MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS and would love to watch it again.  I can highly recommend it.
