Parents are constantly told how to do more, but this illustrator believes many of them simply need permission to do less. I’d like to introduce you to designer and illustrator, Jeanetta Gonzales, whose career spans packaging, licensing, editorial illustration and publishing. She would be a strong voice to:
- How small rituals can help overwhelmed parents reset during busier days
- What working with artists has taught her about confidence and how those lessons apply to parenting
- Why imperfect parenting may actually lead to healthier family dynamics
- How creative habits can help parents reconnect with themselves outside of work and caregiving
Also, on March 24, she will launch her new Chronicle Books title, “Free Pass: Parenting,” a tear-away coupon book designed to give parents small moments of relief. Each illustrated coupon offers prompts like letting the kids be bored, cleaning it tomorrow or booking time with friends. The book reframes self-care as something parents can actively grant themselves.
Here is a YouTube video where Jeanetta walks through the book along with images.
