My oldest son Harrison LOVES Barney. Something about that big purple dinosaur really gets to kids, huh? =) He was super excited to get our copy of Barney: I Love My Friends on DVD. I love for him to watch anything that involves him learning, and I know Barney is just that show. And those with an early childhood education degree recognize the confidence-building factor this show brings, with its abundance of personal positive reinforcement. They use numbers, letters, colors… but also they learn how to share and care for others. A good lesson for young children, who find it hard to get along with their peers sometimes. This DVD has a bunch of really great stories about making up for mistakes, feeling unincluded, and being honest. Throw in a lot of dancing and singing and you’ve got a good old time.
