Every mother I know has had their fair share of sleepless nights, up with a crying baby. I know that all of my children have been known to keep me up at night so when I was offered to review Jazz For Babies I would have been crazy to refuse. On their website there is a quote, It says “Its as if the music casts a magic spell..” and after reading that I was sitting by the door waiting for the package to arrive. My daughter, who is 2 now, woke up through out the night until recently. My 10 month old still wakes up at least 2 times at night. I would have tried anything.
As you can see this was not one of our best nights. This is the sad face of a teething 10 month old baby who is so uncomfortable that he keeps waking up at night. I know some of you mommies out there, have been visited by that same sad face at night. Well, I will tell you when I put the Guitar Album on for him that night, he did seem to become mesmerized, as if it had cast a magic spell over him. He instantly seemed to relax and within 10 minutes I would say, at the most, he fell asleep. I was actually shocked, because I did not think it would work because I am not a huge fan of Jazz music myself. The music was relaxing to listen to even for me. I will admit that I did enjoy some Jazz For Babies myself as well.
My neighbor has a daughter that is 2 months younger than my son. She was having the same problem with her teething daughter. She was waking up every 2 hours though according to my neighbor. I offered her 2 of the 5 CDs they sent me for her to try. They sent me a CD of Guitar, Piano, Vibraphone, Saxophone, and Trumpet Music. I let her try the Piano Album and the Saxophone Album. She sent me a message the next day telling me how amazing those CDs were. She preferred the Piano Album she said but, BOTH albums helped her daughter relax enough to go to sleep. She said that her only wish was that the CDs would last longer.
I have seen the reviews on their website but I can tell you from first hand experience and that of my neighbors experience with these CDs. They had an amazingly calming effect on my child and I would recommend giving it a try if you are suffering from lack of sleep as well. I am always trying out new ways to help with the discomforts of teething and other baby issues. I hate running to find a medication to always fix issues that can be helped without. This was one of those times that I was happy to have tried something new and to have a positive outcome from it.
