Sometimes I get the pleasure of reviewing products that are super unique and that is definitely the case with this review. I was sent some Cacao Tea and a bag of Cacao Nibs from Tisano and I was really delighted with them!
“Tisano CACAO TEA is an award winning herbal chocolate tea. We don’t use artificial flavorings – just 100% of world’s best organic cacao – creating a rich, natural and one-of-a-kind chocolate experience. Tisano is the innovator behind real chocolate infusions – join our adventure – www.Tisano.com
This healthy addiction is rich in antioxidants and has zero fat or calories. Cacao Tea contains Theobromine, a natural mood booster and with less caffeine than green tea or decaf coffee it is an ideal healthy alternative. Give it a try and unlock the wisdom of cacao, the original fruit of the gods.”
So what is Cacao Tea you ask? It is made from the shells of the Cacao bean which, when they are steeped in water, they create a nice tea with a light chocolate flavor. This idea came when the company was processing Cacao Beans and realized there was so much leftover from the shells. They figured “Why not try to do something with them rather than throw them out as waste”. I love that this cacao tea was created from such an attitude!
The flavors of Tisano Chocolate Tea that I chose are: Original Cacao, Vanilla Cacao, and Mint Cacao. Each tin comes as lose cacao shells and you steep them in a tea infuser for about 5 minutes. These are going to be perfect for my cold winters in Iowa (and cold Autumns and Springs) and because they are caffeine free (they do have teas that contain caffeine), I can let my kids enjoy them with me!
Along with my Original Cacao Tea, I received a bag of Nibbles Organic Dark Chocolate Nibs to enjoy. And enjoy we did! My kids and I absolutely LOVED these yummy, chocolate covered Cacao beans. They are such a unique type of treat giving you a 100% cacao bean crunchy center packed with antioxidants, flavanols, magnesium and potassium. We couldn’t get enough of these Nibbles!
