I have been a huge boating fan since I was a kid. My family didn’t have a boat back then but I had a best friend who had a family boat. I had so much fun going boating with them on the weekends and taking trips to their Lake house in the summer. It was such a fun time and I have so many fond memories from those trips with her family.
When I was in high school my family got a boat and we had a blast taking it out on the Lake all summer. I loved water skiing, knee boarding and my favorite tubing. It is so much fun flying around in the tube with my little brother and sister. We would sing songs and laugh so hard as we rode on the tube behind the boat. One of my favorite trips we took was to Lake Powell as a family. We loaded the boat up with all our camping supplies and camped out on the beach for a couple days. In that environment there is nothing to do except spend quality time together as a family. No technology, no interruptions, just good quality family time. I loved it, and have cherished memories.
Now that I have a family of my own I can’t wait to make those kinds of memories with my kids. I unfortunately don’t have a boat but hope to own one in the near future. For now my mom still has a boat, and we have had the chance to go boating with her a few times and are looking forward to boating with her again this summer.
