Easy decorating Tips on a Budget

This post is brought to you by FlowersForEveryone. We recently made a big move to California and are now living in an apartment until our home is built! It has been a big adjustment and learning to decorate a small space can be challenging! My biggest worry was where would I put everything?? Luckily we were able to move half of our items into a storage unit.  I wanted our new apartment to be cozy but not filled with stuff. I needed apartment decorating ideas that fit into my budget. Most of our stuff is in storage but I knew I wanted a few things to remind the girls of home. One of my favorite places to visit is the Dollar Store, Walmart or Target and hit up their dollar or bargain spots! I have found some amazing items to decorate with using items I have found from there. I found a package of 3 carrots for $3, plus a wooden carrot for $1! I did buy a shelf from Hobby Lobby that I can mix and match with every holiday. I have also found tons of cute spray bottles, signs and more all under $5.  My favorite thing to do is to focus on one area and buy a few small things at a time.  I first started in my kitchen because that is where I spend a lot of my time.  I feel like if my kitchen is done it looks a lot more homelike. I had some really cute canisters that I found in Utah (all for under $15) and used myHobby Lobby shelf (which I bought for 40% off!). I decided to try to find stuff for Easter/Spring since that was the next holiday. I love how my bargain shelf decorating turned out! I used 2 different carrot sets from Target ($3 each with a total of 6 carrots) $1 Wooden Carrot and Bunny Salt and Pepper Shakers ($5) I also met a friend here who makes lots of cute items that gifted this cute chalkboard. These would look perfect with a cute vase and a beautiful flower arrangement next to it! The dollar store has tons of cute flowers that you can arrange any way you want! I also find some really fun and cute garlands to hang around. I ended up doing one for Valentines but not for Easter. My girls room is going to be my next project. I found some really cute letterboards for $5 and I want them each to have one so they can switch out however they would like. I also found a really cute flower crown to put above my 6 yr old’s bed. The dollar store has really cute containers if you’re looking to organize as well! I love hitting up Pinterest for inspiration too.
