I attended an advanced screening of this film. All opinions are my own.

I am a huge Harry Potter fan and I was so excited to see FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM. Although I do not think this movie was as good as the Harry Potter film series, I loved FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM.

This film was written by the Harry Potter series author, J.K. Rowling. It is amazing what an incredible imagination she has. I loved that we, as the viewer, finally get to see what the magical world is like in the USA. I thought that the story line for this movie was very interesting. It was not as complex as some of the Harry Potter novels but it was still fun. There are many surprises in the movie and some fun nods to the Harry Potter series for the fans.

The visual effects in this movie do not disappoint. In this movie, we are introduced to many different magical creatures. They look remarkable and incredibly real.

The cast of this film is one of the main reasons this film works. Eddie Redmayne is wonderful as Newt Scamander. He is definitely the star of the film. The supporting cast was also great, especially Dan Fogler as the No-Maj, Jacob Kowalski. He added so much humor to the film.

This movie is rated PG-13 “for some fantasy action violence.” I think the violence and scary level are about the same as the last couple films in the Harry Potter franchise. I do know that there were some younger kids in my screening and some of them did get scared during the movie.

I loved FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM. I am very excited to see where this new franchise goes in the future. I will definitely be seeing this movie again.
