Getting Creative with Sentosphere Review

auaj

My girls love to do anything crafty and artsy. We received the Dolphin Aquarellum set and the Kokeshi Dolls Sand Image set from Sentosphere.

The girls both had so much fun making their Kokeshi Dolls Sand Image Art! The Sand Art set we received came with over 15 different colored sand and 4 different pictures and tweezers. I did have to help the girls a bit but they had fun picking out the colors to use. The pictures are made so that you take the tweezers and carefully peel off the paper and underneath is the sticky part. Once the sticky part is revealed dump the colored sand that you want on it and spread it around with your finger. Then do that with each piece. The girls got really good and spreading out the sand so that each sticky part was filled and of course dumping the sand onto the picture! They both turned out super cute and the girls can’t wait to frame them and hang them up in their rooms!

PicMonkey Collage3“This new arts and crafts activity for kids was designed so that very young children can create their own simple and colorful pictures with no mess ! Just remove the protective layer from the adhesive board and one by one apply the colored sands from the 15 supplied. A fun and artistic activity aimed at developing manual skills and the sense of color.” (Sentosphere website) The girls both loved the fun colors and how simple it was. It had them occupied for at least an hour, such a fun family activity!

We also received the Aquarellum dolphin set from Sentosphere. The Aquarellum set was really fun for Leah. Charlotte is too young for this one but she had fun helping Leah pick out colors. The Aquarellum suggests an age of 8+ but with a little help from me Leah was able to do it on her own easily. The Aquarellum set we received came with:

“3 ready-to-paint magic canvases 12.8” x 9.8”

• 9 washable and non-toxic water colors

• 1 hand made wooden paint brush

• 1 pipette

• 1 pallet to mix and create a range of colors

• 1 guide to understand the wonderful colors of the rainbow

8 years and older

Duration of activity 2-4 hrs” (Sentosphere website)

What Leah and I loved about this project was that it came with a lot of different colors and it also came with a guide that tells you exactly which colors to mix to make a new color. The part that I needed to help Leah with was really the eye dropper. You take the eye dropper/pipette and squeeze into the paint and then drop just a drop into the pallet to start a new color. At first Leah had a little trouble and then she was able to make several colors on her own. Leah really enjoyed painting her picture!

PicMonkey Collage2“It’s magic ! Aquarellum is a collection of paintings created by Véronique Debroise using an innovative and exclusive technique, that of masking vellum paper. This technique permits the creation of very subtle paintings : the brush does not run over the edges of the design, subjects appear as if by magic when in contact with the paints and the colours appear surprisingly vibrant.” (Sentosphere website)

“When Véronique Debroise created Sentosphère in 1989, her objective was to have her “nose” talents become useful for the general public. After a post-graduate degree from the ISIPCA (International Superior Institute of Perfume, Cosmetic and Food Aromas), she acquired experience in France and Brazil within two large groups of aromatic raw material companies which convinced her of the need to foster this olfactive culture to young and old alike. The Loto des Odeurs, the French version of “Follow your Nose” was an enormous success as was “My Perfume Maker”, both pursuing this same idea of playing with our olfactory sense and which have now, along with numerous other games, become references in the game world.

Nevertheless, Véronique Debroise quickly noticed that the other senses : hearing, touch, smell and taste – were equally neglected in contemporary teaching. Sentosphère’s new product ranges are filled with instructive fun, encouraging us to uproot more expressive sensorial behavior, pushing for more artistic development and inciting a more open-minded outlook on the world.

Aquarellum, Sandimage, Spa Lab, and numerous activity or scientific kits require using all 5 senses, tickling the artistic awareness of people of all ages. In 24 years, Véronique Debroise has created over 28 product ranges with around 12 having received awards.” (Sentosphere website)

Sentosphere also sells some really fun items like the Spa Lab, Perfume Maker and more!
