Gifted Film Review~ Now Playing Everywhere In Theaters #GiftedMovie

I attended an advanced screening of this film.  All opinions are my own.

“Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a single man raising a child prodigy – his spirited young niece Mary (Mckenna Grace) – in a coastal town in Florida. Frank’s plans for a normal school life for Mary are foiled when the seven-year-old’s mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank’s formidable mother Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan) whose plans for her granddaughter threaten to separate Frank and Mary. Octavia Spencer plays Roberta, Frank and Mary’s landlady and best friend. Jenny Slate is Mary’s teacher, Bonnie, a young woman whose concern for her student develops into a connection with her uncle as well.”-©Fox Searchlight

My sister and I have been excited to see the movie Gifted.  We love Chris Evans and Octavia Spencer.  We both really liked this movie.

The cast in this movie was great, especially Mckenna Grace as Mary.  She brings a great amount of spunk and spirit to the role.  I thought Chris Evans was great as a very protective uncle.  My one complaint is that I wish Octavia Spencer would have been in the movie more.

This movie has a great storyline about the importance of family.  This movie was a lot more humorous than I thought it was going to be.  I was laughing quite a bit.  This movie has a pretty serious storyline and the humor really helped the overall feeling of the film.

I would say that this movie is not for kids.  I think kids will definitely be bored watching this movie.  It is a great movie for an adult night out.

I really liked Gifted and would definitely watch it again.

Gifted gets bragging rights!

Gifted is now playing in theaters nationwide.  It is rated PG-13 “for thematic elements, language, and some suggestive material.”
