I attended an advance screening of this film.  All opinions are my own.

Growing up, I was a fan of the Goosebumps book series. I really enjoyed the Goosebumps movie that came out a couple of years ago. I have been excited to see the sequel. After seeing it, I did not think GOOSEBUMPS 2: HAUNTED HALLOWEEN was as good as the last movie but I think that it will be a fun movie for kids to see this Halloween season.

I thought that the cast was fun. The kids in this movie were very likable and worked well together. I thought that Wendy McLendon-Covey and Ken Jeong were great as the supporting adult characters. They provided some of the best jokes of the film. I was disappointed that Jack Black was not in the movie more. His role is more of a cameo this time around.

I thought that the movie had a fun storyline. I loved that it celebrated the fun of Halloween. It does refer a bit to the first film but I wish that it could have been more of a direct sequel.

I thought that visuals in this movie were great. I loved how well the filmmakers brought the Halloween creatures to life.

This movie is rated PG “for scary creature action and images, some thematic elements, rude humor and language.” I think that this movie would be appropriate for the whole family. There are some scary Halloween creatures that could scare some little kids but if they have seen the first Goosebumps, they will be fine with this one.

Overall, GOOSEBUMPS 2: HAUNTED HALLOWEEN is a fun, spooky adventures that kids will love. It is perfect for Halloween this year!
