JUSTICE LEAGUE Film Review~Now In Theaters!!! #JusticeLeague

I attended an advanced screening of this film.  All opinions are my own.

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes–Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash–it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

I love superhero movies but I have been sort of disappointed with the last few DC Extended Universe films except for Wonder Woman (which I loved).  I was hoping that I would love JUSTICE LEAGUE as much as I enjoyed Wonder Woman.  JUSTICE LEAGUE was not as good as Wonder Woman but it is definitely better than other movies in the DC Extended Universe.

One of the main things that I really enjoyed about this film was the cast.  I thought that the members of the JUSTICE LEAGUE had great chemistry with each other.  For me, the standouts in the cast were Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman and Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash.  I thought that Miller’s take on the Flash was hilarious.  He provides a lot of comic relief in the film.

This movie had a lot more humor than previous DC movies.  Sometimes I feel that the DC movies can be so dark and serious.  JUSTICE LEAGUE definitely has a lighter tone than previous DC films.

The main thing that disappointed me most with JUSTICE LEAGUE was the villain, Steppenwolf.  He was a poorly written villain who just wants to destroy the world.  He had no real character development and he did not seem to be a big enough opponent for the superheroes in this film.  The CGI with this character was not done well either.  He was a big disappointment.

JUSTICE LEAGUE is rated PG-13 “for sequence of sci-fi violence and action.”  This movie’s amount of violence is on par with other superhero movies.  If your children have seen other superhero movies, they will probably be okay seeing this one.

JUSTICE LEAGUE is not the best superhero movie to come out this year but I think the cast and the humor makes it worth watching, at a matinee or bargain night price.
