My girls both really love dresses. I came across Kallio on Kickstarter and couldn’t wait to receive the dresses from them to review. Kallio was recently featured on Kickstarter and was trying to raise $30,000 in order to open their first workshop! Congrats to Kallio who made their goal, how exciting!

3) WORKSHOP SERIES: We’re launching an exciting workshop series where artists and designers will teach simple and sustainable design techniques — from urban gardening to re-imagining vintage to food styling and photography. We’re bringing it to you!
The studio needs some love before we can open for business this holiday season.

I fell in love with the simplicity and easiness of their dresses & clothing. My girls love to be fancy but mostly they love being girly girls and Leah really loves to be fashionable. The Kallio dresses we received are now the girls favorites! Leah loves to wear hers because she knows how comfortable she feels in it. I love the concept of taking a man’s shirt and turning it into a cute dress which is what the girls dresses were made from!
Kallio has a really cute selection of clothing for babies, girls and boys! With each dress their are several patterns and styles to choose from to and each is different.

I love that Kallio takes shirts that otherwise might be thrown away and turns them into something fun and creative that kids can enjoy wearing!
“They say the clothes make the (wo)man but what happens to those clothes when they are no longer cool or just don’t fit anymore? Most people don’t know that the textile industry is one of the most wasteful industries in the world. A whopping 85% of textile waste ends up in landfills, which basically means you could re-create the Rocky mountains with perfectly good clothes, what a waste. And what a floordrobe!
