When I first heard about NutriSystem I knew that they sent your meals to you what I didn’t realize is how tasty they were! I am seriously in love with my Nutrisystem meals! I also love that they have 2 Flex meals, once for lunch and once for dinner. I had emailed my counselor to ask why the Flex Meals and the answer I got was really on point. The reason for the Flex Meals is to teach me how to eat after I finish the program. I love that they are building my Nutrisystem journey to be a success and I can continue to be successful!
These are 3 of my most favorite meals that I have had so far: Scrambled egg with bell pepper and spinach topped with Salsa & Whole Wheat Bagel (Nutrisystem) with a bit of reduced fat cream cheese. For Lunch this is one of my most favorites! Tortilla Soup and side of Broccoli, then dinner was Thick Crust Pizza (Nutrisystem) and I added spinach and bell pepper and a bit of garlic salt. Oh my goodness seriously so so good!
One tool that has really helped me with Nutrisystem is their app NuMi. NuMi is a great tool to help log my food, activity, water intake and it even has recipes and suggested foods! My favorite part of the app is probably logging my food. I like to keep track of everything and it also helps me to stay on track. The app has programmed all of the Nutrisystem meals and then you can search for veggies, snacks etc. I also really like that I can make my own entry in case I can’t find what I am looking for.
Once of the best resources is the recipes. There are have been times where I am craving something or I just want to add more to a meal. I also find myself wondering what to have for a snack, I don’t want to eat the same thing everyday! There is a section in the NuMi app where I can log my food and it also has food recommendations and recipes. I can pick which meal I want a recipe for as well as how many calories!
I have found a couple recipes that I can’t wait to try! One of the recipes is for Mango Salsa…yum!
I cup peeled, pitted and diced mango
1/2 english cucumber peeled and chopped
1serrano or jalepeno pepper sliced
1 Tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
Stir together all of the ingredients and serve. This is only 102 calories and would be so yummy with some veggies!
One part of NuMi that I didn’t realize is that if you have a Fitbit or heartrate monitor it can be synched with the NuMi App! I didn’t have a Fitbit until now! My husband has one and really loves his, I decided that I also wanted to get one to track my excercise and steps. I can’t wait to link it up to the NuMi app.
So this week I was really kinda bummed I didn’t feel like I had lost anything. I had my first go at the flex meals which I think I did pretty good. My family had gone out to eat and I had a grilled chicken asian salad. I had made sure to check the restaurant’s website before we left so that I knew what I wanted and how many calories, I really stayed within my alloted amount I think. Then my friends and i have a get together every friday for lunch at Chick Fil A. I used the restaurant guide book from Nutrisystem and had the Market Salad with Italian Dressing and chicken. So I had a feeling I may not loose anything.
I had weighed myself on Monday Morning and stayed the same weight as last week…not gaining or loosing. BUT I decided try on some jeans that I knew probably wouldn’t fit. Well I am happy to say that they did!
Week 2: 144.5
Starting Weight: 150.
I am seriously so impressed that I fit into a pair of my pre-baby jeans, which was one of my goals! A month or so ago I couldn’t even get them up over my thighs and now I was able to slip them on and even zip them up!
I really needed the motivation to this week to keep going. I have realized even if I don’t loose lbs I may be loosing inches. I need to keep at it and be my own best cheerleader!
If your thinking of changing your lifestyle to a healthier you I highly recommend Nutrisystem. I haven’t really felt hungry once! I love that they even let me have dessert like brownies, cake and popcorn.
