Happy National Root Beer Float Day!! What a great holiday, am I right? Let me tell you, take full advantage! Our family celebrated a few nights ago with some amazing A&W Root Beer Floats!

It was perfect too, because my husband had been gone for 2 weeks taking a class for the Army- so we had a lot to celebrate! As I get older I have really learned that it doesn’t take much to have quality family time. I used to think we needed a bunch of pomp and circumstance to make a night “special”, but I’ve realized that small, simple traditions can mean so much more than a big production.

A&W Root Beer floats are actually a part of our movie night routines. Usually it’s a Friday night, we have our favorite frozen pizzas, and then we all snuggle in on the couch with our floats and watch a family movie. It’s cheap, it’s easy, it’s simple, but it’s meaningful. My kids hate to miss it. And it’s such a connection point for us.
