The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Movie Review ~ Opens in Theaters Today

I attended and advanced screening of this movie for my review. All opinions are my own.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

“We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.” (c) Columbia

My husband, my son and I all went to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and we all enjoyed it very much.  The acting is excellent and Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man doesn’t disappoint and is still my favorite Spider-Man to date.  Jamie Fox did an excellent job as Max and Electro.  The movie was action packed and very entertaining.  I laughed, and I cried. But it does have a lot of villains in it (Electro, Green Goblin, The Rhino) and because of that the story line is very busy and there are parts that feel rushed and could have used more time. I still thought it was a good movie in spite of this.

This morning my son asked if we could go see it again!  This is one we will most likely be seeing again in theaters and owning once it’s available on Blu-ray.

We were able to view the movie in IMAX 3D and it was excellent.  If you can see it in IMAX 3D I highly recommend it.  It is a fantastic viewing experience and in my opinion that way this movie was made to be seen.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is rated PG-13 for sequences of Sci-Fi action and violence.  There are some very intense scary and violent moments, so I recommend leaving the little ones at home for this one.
