This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart. All opinions are 100% mine.

Walmart announced more than $9.5 million in grants to national organizations that help families to develop and carry out healthy nutritional eating habits.

As a mom healthy living is such an important skill to teach my children.  We are actually working on eating more fruits and vegetables (emphasis on the veggies) in our home.  It can be tricky to get kids to eat the foods that are best for them but I have found educating them and encouraging them really works.

One of the organizations receiving a grant from this program is Action For Healthy Kids.  Walmart is giving them "$1.5 million to help increase access to healthy food and improve nutrition education at 400 schools nationwide. Program expects to increase access to nutrition programs to 160,000 school-age children."-Walmart

I think this organization is a great choice.  So many children aren’t being taught healthy eating habits at home so having them taught to them at school is so important.  I love that Walmart is helping to teach children healthy eating habits in schools.  It will help our children greatly.

Also Walmart is also teamed up with Dr. Rovenia M. Brock Ph. D. (known as Dr. Ro) who will be sharing healthy steps people can take to eat healthier on a budget.

I would love to hear what you have done or want to do to make healthier choices for yourself, community or family.  Please leave a comment on this post sharing with me.
