Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi: What’s In Store for Kids

There’s a theme park in Abu Dhabi where comic, television, and film characters come to life. Loved The Flintstones as a kid? Meet Fred, Wilma, and Pebbles when you tour Bedrock on a boat. Enjoyed Tom and Jerry’s antics? Feel what it’s like to be the cheese that starts the chase.

The place offers more than gripping waves of nostalgia, however. It has something for your children, too. They may not have grown up with Roadrunner, Scooby Doo, and Tweety, but they will enjoy the theme park’s rides and attractions for kids.

Which theme park is it? It’s Warner Bros. World™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, one of the four theme parks in Yas Island Abu Dhabi, the recreation and entertainment hub in northern Abu Dhabi.

About Warner Bros. World™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi is an exclusively indoor theme park, one of the biggest in the world. It is a pop-culture haven, with rides and attractions inspired by the biggest names and characters in the Warner Bros. World™ comic, TV, and cinematic universes.

Walking around the park, you may find yourself exchanging “What’s up, Doc?” with Bugs Bunny or gushing over the sleuth pooch, Scooby-Doo, or his favorite human, Shaggy.

When you visit Gotham City, you may be able to meet the bat boss himself and several of Gotham’s clever villains, including Catwoman, The Joker, Scarecrow, and The Riddler. Metropolis also has its share of bigwigs, including Superman (of course), The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern.

The park is full of these beloved Warner Bros. World™ characters. You can meet them while taking a stroll, queuing up for rides, or getting snacks.

The park itself is divided into six “lands”—seven once the wizarding world of Harry Potter finally opens. These lands are:

  • Warner Bros. Plaza: Warner Bros. Plaza is where the whimsical adventure begins. Marvel at its forever-sunset sky. Shops and restaurants line the cavernous hall, which serves as a gateway to all the other lands in the 15-hectare (around 150,000-square-meter) theme park.
  • Bedrock: Bedrock is the land to visit for stone-age-themed attractions and to meet The Flintstones.
  • Dynamite Gulch: Dynamite Gulch looks like the Southwestern American desert and features Roadrunner, Wile E. Coyote, Marvin the Martian, and The Jetsons.
  • Cartoon Junction: Cartoon Junction is the home of cartoon classics like Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, and Scooby-Doo.
  • Gotham City: Meet Batman and Gotham City’s famous villains in Gotham City.
  • Metropolis: Rub elbows with Superman and other superheroes in the City of Tomorrow.

Rides and Attractions for Kids at Warner Bros. World™ Yas Island

Warner Bros. World™ is a family theme park with many fun rides for children. Here are some of them:

  • Marvin the Martian Crater Crashers: Children at least 105 centimeters tall can get on a space pod and bump and smash their way around and into everyone else. Your children (and you) will love this bumper-car attraction.
  • Cartoon Junction Carousel: Who doesn’t love a good carousel? Hopefully, NOT your children. Bring them to Cartoon Junction Carousel, where they can sit on a princess-style bench or Sylvester’s back. This attraction is for children at least 80 cm tall.
  • Daffy Jet-Propelled Pogo Stick: Daffy Jet-Propelled Pogo Stick is a vertical jump tower that continuously bounces up and down (like a pogo stick). It’s for children at least 100 cm tall.
  • Tweety Wild Wockets: Wild Wockets (that’s Wild Rockets in adorable Tweety-speak) will have you sitting in rockets that go round and round and (gradually) up and down. Your child needs to be at least 100 cm tall for this ride.
  • Ricochet Racin’ with Taz: You and your children, who must be at least 90 cm tall, will ride a race car moving nimbly on an elliptical track for a high-speed racing sensation your kids will love.
  • Ani Mayhem Looney Tunes Ride: Ani Mayhem is an interactive ride that takes you on a car or buggy around the ACME Research and Development Center. To complete the challenge, you’ll need to wear 3D glasses and use your barcode scanner to “shoot” at the on-screen obstacles.
  • Teen Titans Training Academy: Teen Titans Training Academy is for children at least 122 cm tall. It’s an obstacle course that will have your children climbing and zipping through the multi-level play area.
  • The Jetsons Cosmic Orbiter: Have you heard of The Jetsons? They are a family from a fictional futuristic city (Orbit City) in 2062, where people live in houses built high off the ground on adjustable columns to avoid pollution on the ground. The TV show ran from September 1962 to March 1963, but it projected current, modern realities, such as video calling, flat-screen TVs, endoscopic cameras, smart appliances, and drones. You’ll have to wait a while before seeing actual flying cars, but you can experience the feeling by riding on The Jetsons Cosmic Orbiter. Your child needs to be only 80 cm tall to ride this.
  • Scooby Doo’s “The Museum of Mysteries:” For children at least 80 cm tall, this ride will take you on a trip inside The Museum of Mysteries to help Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and company solve a mystery.

Indulge in Some Fun Time With the Fam

Warner Bros. World™ Yas Island is one of the best, if not THE best theme park for families in Abu Dhabi.

To have the best experience, check out the above list of child-friendly attractions and rides.
