When Should You See A Dermatologist?

When thinking about skin problems, there are much more than just blemishes and wrinkles that need your attention. With multiple conditions affecting your skin, you need to understand which causes mild symptoms and which all can be seriously harmful for you. Signs like excessive redness, itching, pain, pus, and rashes indicate that you need to see a dermatologist. As they specialize in treating skin, hair, and nails, they will be able to provide you with the best treatments.

The below conditions are signs that you must see a dermatologist soon.

Acne

This is the most commonly occurring skin disease around the globe. This condition includes the blackheads, whiteheads, pimples as well as the deep cysts. These are caused normally by sebum that has been produced in excess by the skin’s oil glands. Acne can also be caused by bacteria and may spread all across the neck, back, chest, and shoulders. It needs oral medication, chemical peels, and laser therapy for getting treated.

Eczema

Under this, there are multiple severe skin conditions, all of which result in skin inflammation. This is a very uncomfortable and emotionally distressing situation and needs immediate dermatological help. The most common type of this disease is atopic dermatitis, which mostly affect the kids and the babies.

Psoriasis

This is a skin issue stemming right from the immune system. This condition leads to the skin cells forming too quickly and piling on the skin surface. They are thick, red, and silvery scales. They can occur on elbows, feet, knees, face, scalp, or even on the bottom of the feet. As this is a chronic condition, the treatment involves suppressing the overactive immune system.

Rosacea

This acute condition can also affect your eyes at times. Individuals affected with rosacea might look flushed and the nose, cheeks and chin will appear red. It might spread onto the check or shoulders. Skin bumps and swelling is very common in it. This condition might be caused due to quick expansion of blood vessels or excess exposure to sun, heat, wind, spicy foods, alcohol, or even stress.

Varicose and spider veins

The varicose are the swollen, twisted, and painful veins occurring on the skin surfaces. They look bulging and often raised and are normally found on the leg areas. They can increase the chances of blood clots and sores on the skin surface. The spider veins on the other hand are a network of thin red and blue lines on the skin. They are mostly cosmetic issues and occur due to hormonal changes and sun exposure. To combat these, dermatologists prescribe wearing support stockings, taking external medications, and undergoing lifestyle changes. They also inject chemicals to make things better. Other feasible options include undergoing surgeries and taking laser treatments. Although not a serious health threat, you can always consult a dermatologist to help it get better.

These are some of the occurrences which you shouldn’t ignore and immediately see a dermatologist to improve your skin condition.
