I am one lucky girl to be able to review the Silhouette Electronic Cutting Tool! I was seriously SO excited when it showed up at my door and I immediately started playing around with it!

What is the Silhouette?sil

“The Silhouette is a digital cutting tool for personal use. It connects to your computer just like a printer, but instead of printing designs it cuts them with a small blade. With the machine connected to your computer, you’ll get access to all of the fonts on your PC plus the thousands of cuttable designs found on the Silhouette Online Store.”

I have experience with a different cutting tool ….but I don’t use it very often. The biggest reason it sits in my closet is because I can’t design my own stuff. With the Silhouette, I get more options and I LOVE that!

The Silhouette came at the perfect time because I was wanting to make one of those paper banners that are so popular right now, for my daughter’s birthday. I was holding out for the cutting tool because I KNEW it would make the job 100 times easier, 100 times quicker, & probably 100 times CUTER! I was right. I am so happy with how it turned out. If this machine was only a paper cutter, I would still be pretty satisfied with it (I hate cutting things out)….but it’s NOT!

I will be using the Silhouette mainly for crafts & home décor stuff. And yes, I will be doing a lot of vinyl décor now that I have such a large selection of cute images & fonts. Along with my Silhouette, I was sent a couple rolls of vinyl along with some transfer paper (a must when cutting vinyl—-if you want it to be quick & simple). I have big plans for my front room now that I have my own personal vinyl cutterWinking smile.
