I was invited by Disney on an all expenses paid trip to cover the #HanSoloEvent and #WrinkleInTimeBluray. All opinions are my own.
A Wrinkle in Time is Now Available on Blu-ray! My son and I both enjoyed A Wrinkle In Time when we saw it in the theater. You can read our full A Wrinkle in Time movie review here. So we were excited to watch it again at home now that A WRINKLE IN TIME is available on Blu-ray and Digital! and to check out the bonus features (more about those later).
While I was in LA I had the chance to watch some bonus features for A Wrinkle In Time and also sit down with child star Deric McCabe who plays “Charles Wallace Murry”. Let me tell you, this kid is hilarious! And so much fun to talk to. He is hands down the best child interview I have ever done. He was dancing and making us all laugh, I was super entertained from beginning to end.
Right away he told us that his favorite location the movie was filmed in was New Zealand and that he isn’t homeschooled but attends “regular” school.
He told us about the time when he first met Oprah, he was waiting to film the cave scene and he said “I started eating my popcorn. And she was like, ‘who’s popcorn is this? This is delicious’. I’m like ‘oh, that’s me’. Oprah’s eating my popcorn!”
We asked him if Oprah gave him any advice and he recalled “She did say, ‘there’s more to come after the movie’. And I’m there sobbing on the floor. No, there’s not. My life is over.”
It was so adorable to learn that Deric has a major crush on a certain Avenger, Black Widow. He kept mentioning Scarlett Johanson and was swooning as he spoke about her. He said she was one of his acting heroes and he really likes how she looks. He also told us that it is his biggest wish to work with her. I think he found a way to bring her up at least 3 times as we were chatting. It was super cute.
He also offered up some advice for other kid actors, “when you don’t get any jobs, keep the faith.”
It was great chatting with him and so entertaining! Here is our group photo with Deric.
