Trouble with the Curve Film Review~ Now Playing In Theaters!

Gus Lobel (Clint Eastwood) has been one of the best scouts in baseball for decades, but, despite his efforts to hide it, age is starting to catch up with him. Nevertheless, Gus-who can tell a pitch just by the crack of the bat-refuses to be benched for what may be the final innings of his career. He may not have a choice. The front office of the Atlanta Braves is starting to question his judgment, especially with the country’s hottest batting phenom on deck for the draft. The one person who might be able to help is also the one person Gus would never ask: his daughter, Mickey (Amy Adams), an associate at a high-powered Atlanta law firm whose drive and ambition has put her on the fast track to becoming partner. Against her better judgment, and over Gus’s objections, Mickey joins him on his latest scouting trip to North Carolina, jeopardizing her own career to save his. — (C) Warner Bros.

I really enjoy movies about baseball.  I also really like Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams.  This movie has all three, plus Justin Timberlake, so it was definitely on my must see list.  Trouble With The Curve is a really good movie.

There are many reasons why I enjoyed this movie.  I really liked the story.  I thought that a majority of this movie was going to be about just baseball.  This movie was more about the father-daughter relationship between Gus (Eastwood) and Mickey (Adams).  Their relationship is very complicated.  Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams having amazing chemistry together.  They played off each other well and you could believe that they were father and daughter.  Justin Timberlake was the great comic relief for the film.  The filmmakers knew how to use him well.  John Goodman also has a great supporting role as Pete, the main person over recruitment for the Atlanta Braves in the film.  He is not in the film much but is great when he is.  I always love to see John Goodman.

I liked that this movie was a really good ending.  Some people may think that the ending might be ‘too perfect’ but I disagree.  It needed to end the way it does to make the audience happy.

The only thing that I wished they would have changed was that there is a lot of language in this movie.  I was not surprised because it was Clint Eastwood movie.  If you are sensitive to movies with language, this one has quite a bit.

I really liked Trouble with the Curve.  If you are a baseball fan or just want a great movie for a date night, this movie would be a great pick!

Trouble with the Curve gets bragging rights!

Trouble with the Curve is rated PG-13 and is now playing in theaters.  For more information, you can visit the movie’s official website.
